Review Deerfields Bakery - Deerfield

I have never had a bad experience with Deerfields Bakery. They create unique and up to date with its competitors. I ordered the Hot Chocolate cake and we enjoyed it very much because it wasn't too sweet. The staff are professional and efficient. This is the reason why I keep coming back.

Delicious cake! It looked exactly like the Pinterest inspo I sent them. The bakery was very responsive to my inquiries and made the ordering process very seamless. I loooove cake, it's my favorite dessert. I ordered a Raspberry filling and didn't realize that it would be pink. We had a great moment when we cut the cake and it looked like a gender reveal cake! That was my mistake and we still chuckle about it. I highly recommend Deerfields.

I ordered 3 pies for Thanksgiving. I went into the store to pick them up, waited in the line, and when I got to the front they couldn't find my order... but that was because I placed it for the wrong day! It wouldn't have been filled until the Wednesday after Thanksgiving. Well, they had the stock on hand so they filled the order & changed my online one so I wouldn't get double-charged. Then my family loved the pies! Their Dutch Apple was the best of the 3.

Deerfields Bakery is fantastic! I have gone to them since I was young. They did my sweet 16 birthday cake, and my wedding! They made a delicious cake, and dessert table (customized cake pops, assortments of mini tarts and sweets). The cake tasting experience was super fun, and Debbi is great to work with! Will definitely purchase from them again!

I ordered 60 decorated cookies and am so excited! Their customer service was so helpful in finding the design I was looking for and the colors that matched our theme. They responded right away when I reached out online and when I called their customer service. Highly recommend Deerfields Bakery. It's so nice to work with real people at a local business and not some national chain!

It’s nice to see when a family business makes the kind of investments like Deerfield Bakery. The new retail store looks fantastic and there products are professionally displayed. There cookies don’t only look amazing but taste fantastic too!

We were so pleased with our wedding cake from Deerfields! We loved the process of tasting the different cake and frosting flavors, they made the process so easy. We also asked for bear claws as an extra treat for our guests, and Deerfields delivered! Would highly recommend for your dessert needs!

Absolutely delicious cake. Everything from the service to the attention to detail made my day perfect. This cake not only looked fabulous but tasted divine. The next day I was getting request for leftovers. I am extremely grateful for the team at Deerfields Bakery. I was a nervous bride. Debbi was knowledgeable, patient and professional. She understood what was needed and executed an exquisite cake that demonstrated our love and appreciation for our guests. Huge thank you. Highly recommend and will be using again.

First was so impressed by the beautiful renovations I hadn’t seen yet. Samantha was super patient and helpful in helping me choose a birthday cake. I already know it’ll be delish because we’re familiar with Deerfield’s bakery from over the years.

Deerfield’s Bakery is always at the top of our list when we need a cake! Not only do their cakes taste great, but they decorate them beautifully. They can customize any way you want. Deerfield’s also has the cutest cookies and delicious pies! :) Would highly recommend!!

Absolutely love Deerfield's. Ordering online is insanely simple and everything is packed with care and made with love and craftsmanship. My daughters first birthday was a hit! Can't wait to throw another party so I have another excuse to get dessert 😋

I moved to Georgia and there's nothing like Deerfield's down here. Whenever I come back to Glenview to visit I always stop at Deerfield's. I can't leave town without a coffee cake... or two... okay, maybe three.

I went here for my first time on a Saturday morning and wow, was I impressed! A beautiful bakery inside! Super clean, bright and extremely inviting. The assortment of cakes, cookies, donuts and pastries is very impressive. EVERYTHING looks so amazing! I had donuts and coffee, and can’t wait to go back and try more. Next time…different donuts and taking home some cookies!

Tried 3 pastries to go. The apple strudel roll was very good. Not overly sweet. Tried the strawberry Danish and the cinnamon roll. Both were super delicious. I think I liked both of these equally. 👍👍👍👍 Originally rated 4 🌟 before trying the strawberry and cinnamon rolls. But now, bumping up to 5 🌟.

I had an unexpected experience at Deerfields Bakery. Up until about 7 years ago, I had ordered all my kids' birthday cakes from Deerfield because their decorations are so beautiful. I ordered my son's graduation cake about 2 weeks in advance of his party. I got an email from customer service asking for a copy of the image I wanted (I had already provided it to the girl who took my order but that's ok. I didn't mind sending it again.) The customer service rep said that this image would be used for a "portrait" decoration on the cake. I was like, wait, what's portrait mean? She explained that a photographic image would be placed on top of the cake. I told her that was not what I wanted. I wanted the university logo to be done with icing. She said that 90% of college cakes are done with a portrait image so the girl who took my order probably assumed that's what I wanted (she never gave me the option.) So I asked the customer service rep to please change the order for the cake to be decorated with icing and she said she couldn't because changes are not allowed in the five days leading up to pick up. So it appears that Deerfield has a central ordering and service system that does not allow for much flexibility. So why 4 stars? Overall, the cake and sugar cookies I ordered were very good. But truthfully, I could have gotten a portrait cake from Jewel for less than $75. It just wasn't special like Deerfield cakes used to be and their new system is so inflexible. Especially since the mistake was made by the employee who took the order. I'm attaching images. You can see that the cake is nicely done - just not what I had envisioned.
