The best coffee in the area. But more than that, their bagels are amazing. Super well made! They always have a great variety of sweet and savory bagel options. Really excellent cream cheese as well. Good atmosphere, very very clean shop as well!!

The bagels and coffee are good. The blueberry muffins were ok, too sugar sweetened with a from the box aftertaste, and no fresh blueberries. Do not get a breakfast sandwich either. You do not put microwaved egg and sausage on a fresh bagel, especially for the price they charge. And they make it right in front of you so you can witness the process. Very disappointed that it wasn't made out of a fresh egg and griddle cooked sausage. It tasted 'nuked'. Also, we drove from Poplar Grove to eat there. This place offered some really nice options for food and pastries. Definitely a nice aesthetic that I would visit again and hope to try some of their other food options between classes. I'd definitely recommend coming earlier in the day when the bagels are still plentiful however but otherwise I wouldn't recommend missing this place if you've got the opportunity to stop in for a quick bite.

I have been there three times as I like to give anywhere three tries before deciding whether I like it or not. Three different times have I ordered the pizza bagel and had it still be ice cold inside due to the sauce. Three different times I’ve had to wait till I drove back to Elgin to my microwave to actually eat it at a safe temperature. I will not be returning.

I have enjoyed the bagels at Barb City Bagels. I have had the Asiago, the Pretzel, the Sun Dried Tomato, the Jalepeno and Cheddar, and the Hawain thus far. My favorite bagel is the Jalepeno and Cheddar. My least favorite due to the saltiness is the pretzel one. And that is because I tend to only taste the more abundant flavor. And if you are a coffee conesour you can enjoy Iced Coffe, Latte and many different sugar free and cream options that are self-served. I usually just add Vanilla and sometimes Carmel to my coffee. There is also outdoor seating that you can enjoy from the outside seating of Tavern on Lincoln. Dine-In is also available.

They are delicious, if you get there early enough! They dont seem to make bagels throughout the day. Just once in the morning and when it is gone it's gone. Service could be a bit nicer but like I said if you are there early enough then the food makes up for the ok service. They do have a sandwich menu if u are looking for that.

Barb City Bagels has the best cinnamon rolls around! Service is always friendly and efficient. They have a wide variety of great menu choices. Don't forget about Barb City Bagels! It's one of the best places in town!

Bagels are super delicious and I love the green olive cream cheese. I was super excited they were serving Intelligentsia coffee but was disappointed that it was brewed extremely weak.
