Review Cotton Patch Cafe - Denison

We were traveling through Denison today and had lunch at the Cotton Patch. They were very busy, but that caused no issues with service or food. The service was great, they take good care of their customers, the food was great and of great quality and presented well, the portions are excellent and the price is fair. All in all it was a great place and I recommend it highly and I will definitely be back. I got so distracted when the food was brought to us that I forgot to take pictures upon its arrival, so after we already started eating I remembered pictures, sorry about that. The food was great.

Before we talk food, a shout out to our server, Ireland. Despite being somewhat busy and having worked the lunch shift too, she was really attentive and so welcoming. I also need to drop in a conversation from another table. Their server told them he’d been at Cotton Patch before he was born. When his mom was pregnant she worked here! So cool. Now, to the food. Some of the best queso ever. I know that’s a bold statement but this brisket queso is downright craveable! Our entrees were a solid high scoring hit too. We had the chicken fried brisket and chicken fried steak. As a note, I told my better half the green beans so good they tasted like they came from the family reunion. For dessert, I couldn’t resist the Mama’s cake—yellow cake and cheesecake combo. It’s definitely rich (no surprise) but my was it was it tasty. If you are passing through or just need something different, this chain won’t disappoint.

Let me just say this first: my server, Chase, was absolutely amazing! He has a great energy and is very attentive and helpful! Great job!! Texas born and Texas proud, Cotton Patch Cafe has been in business for more than 30 years.. the food is usually pretty good. Tonight was a little different. I started with the brisket queso and chips.. it was delicious! Queso Blanco with a bit of brisket and a drizzle of barbecue sauce.. it was excellent! Then I had the Shiner Bock beer battered fish and chips. In true pub food fashion, the three fish filets were thickly battered and fried... but they were a little over done and tasted burnt. Caesar salad was perfect! Fresh and crisp with just the right amount of dressing.. Probably won't do seafood next time. I'll just stick to the favorites..

My husband and I visited tor the first time today.(We're not from Denison) We were there a little after 10:30 and it was pretty busy but we got seated quickly. We were given some complimentary bread rolls with butter. They were fresh. The inside was soft and warm. I ordered fried green tomatoes for an appitizer( I've always wanted to try them and i wasnt disappointed!) They were nice and crispy not mushy at all. They had a little bite to them. It came with avocado ranch which was surprisingly yummy. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, broccoli rice casserole and garlic mashed potatoes with white gravy. To drink was just a soda. The chicken fried chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Great flavor. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the broccoli rice casserole was very flavorful. My husband ordered a sweet tea with lemon, the chicken fried brisket, loaded baked potato and a salad. He let me try a little bit of his food. Im picky with my sweet tea and usually wont order it when at a restaurant because its always too sweet but here it was just perfect. Just the righr amount of sweetness. The chicken fried brisket was a first for us. It was nice and crispy on the outside, the inside was soft and not dry at all. Has great flavor. The salad was a good size. Im not sure if they make theirbown crutons or not but that was ny favorite party of the salad. Overall everything exceeded out expectations. If you haven't been to eat here I would definitely recommend it!

Let me start by saying my waiter Dillon, was very good. The wait time for our food was an hour. My food came out cold which I didn't understand considering the wait time. There was more staff then patrons. I wish I had a better experience but unfortunately I did not.

The cooks here know what they are doing.when they can make grandma's Sunday dinner tastes great on their plate. Well.... let's just say not to many people can make blackeyed pees and catfish double mashed potatoes. Oh.. nevermind just look at the picture. Oh and the brought me out a slice of that hummingbird cake for my birth day!!

Service was really great! Food...not so great. I like hot food. It wasn't. This is our second time there and the first time the food was absolutely wonderful. This time the food tasted a little different. And I ordered the exact same thing since it was so good last time! Maybe it was the lukewarm temp, if that, that changed the whole taste of it! I don't know how it could be so different from one visit to the next.

Turkey Roast was good but not hot. Was room temperature at most. Green beans and okra was nice and hot though

I've been here several times, trying to give it a chance. My experience has ranged from dirty menues(dried food), dirty silverware and seldom recieving what I ordered from the kitchen. Until tonight the service hasn't been to bad. Management has always corrected the mistake. The food is usually tasty so I have been willing to try again. During my last visit after having to send my order back once again I decided enough was enough. The manager offered us two free meals if we would try again. So I returned tonight with my son and his family. Only to receive the worst service ever. It took way too long to get refills. I had to ask the girl at the register for refills and rolls. We had been waiting 20 minutes or so for our meal. 30 or more by time time the meals came out. We had a 3 yr with us hers was the last dish delivered. My order was again wrong. I again spoke to the manager who again offer to replace my meal. While waiting for my meal the waitress came to refill my son's tea and spilt the tea all over him and his plate came back handed him napkins and walked away never offered to help clean up the table or floor covered in tea just stated she'd order him a new burger. After about ten minutes the manager returned with my plate. I again told him what happened to my son. He returned apologetically with a new burger. We asked for containers to go. Appetite lost. My son's girl friend arrived about 745 and we arrive a little after eight. We left at 935. What should have been an evening for us to enjoy each other as a family was a disaster. Management covered the bill. I handed him the coupon given to me by him and said I will never return. Fist time, mistakes happen. Second time manage ment needs to equated what failed in the process. Third time it becomes obvious there's a definite issue but the forth time its obvious that management has no influence over the employees who obviously have no concern for the product they deliver. Customer service is what makes or breaks a business and starts from the moment they enter the door to the moment they exit. Never again!!!

I highly recommend the chicken fried bacon! Also pretty much anything on the menu.

We had an excellent waitress. Stevie. Everything was great. Steaks were ecactly how we ordered them, everything was good. Didn't have to use steak sauce or add anything. Good cold beer too...

Food was fabulous and Cotton Patch went above and beyond in honoring our Veterans. My server, Lauren was the best. Thank you for making my day!

Ok...so I’ve lived around here 3 years and this is my first visit. The food and service were great. By far better food and service than I’ve had at any restaurant around here.

Customer service is amazing our waitress jasmine was so sweet and took really good care of us. From minute you walk in you get the best service thanks guys keep up good work

I’m from Independence , kansas my son took me there and I have NEVER seen such a chicken fried steak it was huge in fact my done and I shared it. It was great and the waiter was excellent everyone very friendly .will sure go back.

Food was fine... our little waitress took our order and came back not once to refill our drinks... Another brought out food... nice fella As to ours... we didn't see her till she delivered our tab.. ask for refills on our drinks..gave her my card ... she processed it and disappeared again... She was nice enough... just not visible as the other wait staff was...

1.0 star rating 12/1/2017 I am working tonight but wanted to eat somewhat healthy, so I decided to order a Ribeye--med rare with steamed veggies, broccoli rice (they were out of baked potatoes on a Friday night) and a cup of chicken and dumplings. I also ordered the salsa and queso with chips. I placed my order at 7:30 and got there about 7:45. My steak was brought out in a to go box right after I got there and placed on a counter with nothing to keep it warm. A few minutes later, a waitress walked thru a bunch of employees with a net baggie of "steamed" veggies and dumped them into the box. At 8pm my order still wasnt ready. As I was complaining to the manager and he was refunding my money, they brought the rest of my order that was missing--the queso (salsa was already sitting on the counter next to the box getting warm) and the cup of chicken and dumplings. It took the manager 6--count them...6--minutes to refund my money. Nothing about this restaurant is courteous (the person who took my phone order hung up on me) or healthy (carrying food thru the restaurant is not hygienic and breaks several health code violations which the manager admitted to, not to mention leaving your food to cool down to room temp is not safe). Do yourself a favor and eat someplace that is courteous and takes pride in keeping your food hot and safe until its delivered into your hands.

My family and I always enjoy eating here. The staff is always polite and willing to serve. Thank you for the service you provide.

Mostly good food but music (At least for my husband and I ) is way to loud!!!

Togo is so convenient. Burgers were the best in town for an affordable price!
