Review Kent's Tex Mex - Denison

First time here! An interesting time. On Thursdays, Margaritas are $3. The chips and salsa are good! Service was very good! Place was very busy! People coming and going non stop! Food was really good as well! Will definitely be back!

Our meals were delicious with large portions. Service was great. Restaurant was clean and well kept.

Waitress was horrible she ask if we wanted an appetizer before we even looked at the menu stood there literally 10 seconds then said nope no appetizers and walked off we looked at each other in disbelief so when she came back with drinks I said by the way yes she would like an appetizer she said oh what do you want. The salsa taste like ketchup and chili powder we couldn't eat it and all 4 of us ordered different food and none were seasoned very bland taste like cardboard price was about same as most Mexican restaurants won't go back

Your server wasnt very good other servers had to keep telling her to come over and refill our drinks and things like that the food wasnt that good. The salsa was out of a jar and the queso was nothing but Velveeta not that good the chicken fried steak wasnt good the rice was stale we always try to go to the small mom and pops places we will not be going back

Love the food. Good service. Parking is usually tight cause it's a popular place!

Finally got to eat here! The food was delicious.. I had 3 chicken sour cream enchiladas...the queso was good and sweet tea was great

They BY FAR have the best quesadillas & chili relenos n the state of Texas! The whole USA as far as I'm concerned! Love those nuts & raisins! We are always happy w our food & service when we go.

I’ve been eating at Kent’s for years and it’s the only place I eat Mexican food!

Food was good as always but for some reason the radio had to be so loud that I couldn't even have a conversation with my wife. It was ridiculous. I've been at quieter concerts.

We happened to find this gem of a restaurant just driving down the road and am so glad we did. The food was amazing and the staff was great. Will be back!

A definite hometown favorite, as my family and I have been eating here since I was a youngin'. This is the third installment of what was once Garcia's. It's good, but not as good as it was the first go-round (in the old El Chico on Austin Avenue/Business 75). With that said, everything on the menu is fresh and tasty. Enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos, fajitas... you're good with any of those. And the chips and salsa? They're a must! Great for to-go orders, too!

So....<br/>Chips.....bulk bag?<br/>Hot sauce.....Pace?<br/>Margaritas.....tasty<br/>Refried beans.....bland<br/>Spanish rice....bland<br/>Hard Taco....meat was tasty with a hint of cumin one time, next time, tasted bland.<br/>Soft Taco.......ditto<br/>Salads.....decent<br/>Prices....reasonable<br/>Atmosphere.....pleasant<br/>Cleanliness....very clean tables<br/>Service.......very good<br/><br/>We eat at a place 3+ times before reviewing, to check for consistency....

Love it!. We eat here regularly. We also have good service and we take family from out of town here when we can. It is geat.

Bad experience. I will not be back. I've gone twice now and both times the place was practically empty and we still had terrible service. We had a larger group this time but we waited 30+ minutes to be seated. There were plenty of places to sit and all the owner did was make excuses. There are plenty of other restaurants where you get quality service, good food and you are charged a fair price. If you want good service I suggest you eat someplace else.

Not what it used to be. The original Garcia's was good. Even when Kent reopened is this location it was better than what it is now. On our last visit I thought the food was a bit over priced, the queso was runny, and our food not that good. The refried beans were especially bland.

WONDERFUL. My husband loves the TACO DINNER. I like to order the cheese enchiladas with chile con carne - AMAZING!!!

Vegetarians: beware that the cheese enchiladas normally come with a beef sauce and the spinach enchiladas come with a white sauce. Ask for the ranchero sauce. It's got big chunks of onions and bell peppers, a pleasant surprise. Sopapillas are HUMONGOUS!

Not Impressed !. I have dined here several times, started out good, but went down hill over time.

Horrible. I have to start by saying that since moving here a year ago my wife and I haven't been able to find any really good tex-mex, but Kent's was the second worse we've tried. Chips from a bag and overpriced velvetta cheese sauce. Enchiladas were so bland I was missing Taco Bell.

Good food. These are the original owners of Garcia's. If you've lived in the Sherman-Denison, TX area, the name should be familiar as it was one of the older and better Tex-Mex restaurants, and it's just like it used to be. The food is good, with actual chili con carne instead of something that looks like something that came out of can.

Not Bad Just Didn't Care For It. Went there on a friend's parent's recommendation. First thing you notice is how they are very keen on letting you know they really wanted to call the place Garcia's. At the entrance and on the menus it let's you know this is the original Gracia's guy. I never ate there so I don't know why I should care. None of the chairs match in there, maybe on purpose but it bothered me still. Very small menu and nothing really stands out. I ordered the Three Gringos. The chicken enchilada was very dry. The beef and cheese enchilada had absolutely no flavor. The taco meat one was delicious though. The rice seemed homemade but very bland. The food came out so extremely hot that we literally had to wait 10 minutes before we could eat. 2 of us ate for $32 (which seems high to me). If the food had had more flavor and hadn't been so scalding hot (ease up on the nuker) then I might have considered returning, but at this point I won't return.

Tex-Mex done right. I could write several paragraphs about Kent's food, service and the atmosphere in the restaurant. I could but I am not. I think I can sum all of it up in a few words, saving you and I the time of not having to read a "book". <br/><br/>This is the ONLY place for fantastic, truly authentic Tex-Mex in the Texoma area. If you haven't tried it yet, please do yourself a favor and get there as quick as you can. If you have tried it, there is no need for me to explain further.

Love It. My husband and I go to Kent's often. Their quesadilas are excellent. The Guacamole they make there is the best I have ever tasted. Excellent wait staff. Great Salsa and Chips. Every entree we have tried has been excellent.
