Simply put: the best Italian food in Denton, and perhaps North Texas. Wonderful settings inside an old house with some of the best culinary preparation I’ve seen. Service was impeccable.
Bottom line: a must.
It’s always a wonderful experience! Located in an old house gives the perfect ambience for good Italian food and great company. Another exquisite locally owned restaurant in the area!
I've never had better Italian! It's just a little hole in the wall place (actually a house turned restaurant), but it packs a delicious punch. The food was beautifully done, our server (I think his name was Colton) was wonderful, and the quaint, homey atmosphere was perfect. I didn't sample any of the wine, but the selection was marvelous. I could not have a better opinion of Giuseppe's. It's too bad I live so far away!
Great!! We absolutely loved this quaint little spot! The food was absolutely delicious! The Alfredo sauce is a must have! Ray had amazing service as well! He gave great recommendations and was very attentive! Would definitely go back!
I am an Italian food junkie and I have to say that Giuseppe's is the best I've had so far. The food is well worth the price. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service - our server was attentive but didn't come over to our table every 15 seconds to check on us, which I appreciate. The food was exquisite. The marinara sauce was so good that I used my bread to soak it all up when I was finished. I liked the uniqueness of their dishes, too. They had traditional Italian entrees but some of them were a little different, which made choosing one so difficult because they all sounded great. I also enjoyed their extensive wine list. I've seen ones that are larger but these were all good quality wines. My moscato was delicious. Then there was the tiramisu....wow. I don't really know what else to say about it. I will definitely be coming back more frequently in the future.
Well worth the price. Great food, ambience and service. Sad that Denton has so few Italian places, but thankful this one is so good. Great place to take a date to impress her.
Waitress may need some training. Luckily for us we were given a gift certificate. We are trying to change the way we review, apparently restaurants are very very slow in Texas compared to the ones we have been at in New England. I will attempt not to fault the restaurants for the slow service if it is the cultural norm.
So here we are as other have said it is a charming little house that is now a restaurant.
The menu is wonderful, it was very hard to pick what dish we wanted to get. Our waitress was awful, not only did she come stomping over she took my drink order then James's. I realized that we were going to have to wait for ever so I ordered our app which was crab stuffed mushrooms.. Instead of asking James what he would like she just took off.
I am pretty sure our app and drinks came out while we still had the menus' in our hands. I ordered the angel hair pasta with garlic, lemon sauce and capers( Capellini Vongole). James got the flat pasta and chicken dish(Pollo alla Romana).
The mushrooms were good, a little undercooked but the cheese sauce made up for it.
The portions were very small. The angel hair dish was extremely good. James did not even touch his pasta after finding out the sauce was something like chef boy-ardee. Perhaps it is a true Italian flavor but for James it was just plain gross.
We did order the dessert- Tiramisu it was delish.
Not on to the not so nice review of the terrible waitress. Aside from taking off with out asking James if he wanted anything she was not able to keep my water glass full. My biggest pet peve. I assumed that this was one of the restaurants I would not have to request two glasses. I was wrong. So after our app she brought us our salads and then later the bread...Hmmm kind of strange. Our meals came out before we were done the salads and she had never come back to check or remove the salad plates. We then played a game of trying to fit the app dish, two salad dished , app plates, and two meals on a very small table. BIG TIME NO NO not cool at all.
She royally pissed James off by reaching in front of him while he was eating to fill his glass with a pitcher.
She didn't even ask why James didn't touch any of the pasta on his plate-an attentive waiter would have immediately noticed, especially with the small portions.
We almost left the restaurant without getting the remained of our gift card because it was taking so darn long. I told James we were not leaving her with a 45 dollar tip and needed to get the certificate back.
Needless to say wee finally go the cert back and are kind of worried about going back because of the terrible waitress. the saving grace was the young male waiter we watched do everything right. We will ask for him when we do go back. I am debating send a letter about waitress do and do not lists.
Enjoyed the Dinner. We ate here after hearing people rave about it. A unique dinner experience in a restored old house. The food was very good, but did not live up to the hype. You can find as good, if not better, Italian food even in the Denton/Aubrey area without the wait. But we would definitely return, especially for a special dinner with the spouse or for visiting family.
Loved the atmosphere and the service was great. Food was wonderful and refreshing. A change from the usual chain food Italian. Will be back.
Romantic. Had dinner with husband about a week ago. this is perhaps the best Italian restaurant in Denton. It is expensive but worth the money. Also have a good wine list with one of our favorites wines - J.Lohr Cabernet - Ca'tn wait going there again on our anniversary.
My favorite Italian restaurant. I have always been very picky about Italian food because I grew up with my Nonnie (my Italian great-grandmother) who would hand-make authentic Italian dishes. Until I went to Giuseppe's, I had been unable to find that same authentic food that I had grown up with. The food is delicious and I definitely recommend it if you are looking for great Italian.
Best Italian in Denton. This food is a little pricey compared to other restaurants in Denton, and being a college student I can't eat here as much as I'd like to, but it is most defiantly the best in Denton!
It's in a little house which adds a lot of character and charm to the place.
As far as service goes I can't complain, get the baked ziti with Italian sausage, YUM!
Mostly good. The wait time to be sat (on a Wed night) was a bit much - when there were empty tables - most of which needed to be bused. The waitress, who stomped around the floors like an elephant, seemed very rushed, yet our service was MUCH too slow. My wine took forever. Then eventually the bland calamari arrived. & MUCH later the salads & bread showed up. Call me crazy, but shouldn't bread be one of the first things to show up? & I ordered caesar dressing, but I'm not sure what I got - it was pink. By the time the entree arrived, we were a bit annoyed with the slow service.. HOWEVER.. My generous serving of Tilapia fritta Campagnola combined with the fact that it was absolutely Delicious saved this dining experience for me. I am also in love with a mom & pop place in a historic Victorian home. Lovely 'home' look/feel. My advice: go hungry, but be prepared to wait!
Great food, great service. Absolutely loved the grilled portabella mushroom as an appetizer, salad with homemade dressing was delicious, bread was great, seafood linguine was amazing, and the custard was a wonderful finish. Can't wait to come back.
I've made excuses for not going here, and now I feel bad because I've missed out on great food and an amazing atmoshpere. It is a great spot for a date or a nice dinner. The ambiance is wonderful from the inside out. I would recommend asking the server what is good because they know what dishes they do extremely well. My only dissapointment was that I really wanted to eat outside under the big tree, but being close to dusk and almost summer time, the bugs were out... But eating inside just had as much charm as well... Dentons best itallian food!
Good food and a great atmoshpere. Prices are very reasonable, excellent service and just a great experience. You won't be disappointed.
With Italian it's hard to be original, but they pull it off. Great menu. Good price. Love it.
The best Italian food in North Texas.
Good food, great atmosphere, cordial and prompt service...what more could you ask?
Delicious. If you like Italian this is your place!!
Great atmosphere for a cozy dinner for two.
Great taste. Perfect size portions nice atmosphere. Definitely recomend
Very nice, upscale setting, the mood is very relaxing. The prices aren’t bad. The appetizers we had were the brochette and mozeralla sticks. The red wine vinaigrette was the best over. The waiter was great. The tortillni bolognese was the best!!! Definitely will stop by on my way from the casino EVERYTIME now on my way home 🤣🤣
Chef Giuseppe prepares food that is good for your soul. I've been pretty depressed lately. I haven't had an appetite and my husband was trying to coax me into eating. I used to work in an Italian chain restaurant and often gush about how much I loved everything we served. He asked me "What's the best Italian food?" My answer was, "Whatever the chef feels like cooking that day." So, to my surprise, he called the restaurant and asked. The gentleman who answered the phone laughed and handed it over to Chef Giuseppe who spoke with my husband for a few minutes. He asked my husband a couple of basic questions- What kind of protein, and what kind of sauce does she like? Chicken, and she likes everything. Chef Giuseppe promised to make something special. Oh my goodness, he wasn't kidding!
The bruschetta is mouth watering. It was a lovely balance of his zingy homemade balsamic vinegar reduction, fresh flavor packed herbs, melty cheese, and crisp, perfectly ripe, diced tomato. I could eat a whole meal of nothing but that and be so happy. The creamy pesto based pasta sauce was sensational. I thought I liked pesto. I was mistaken. I love pesto when it's done so well. The sauteed vegetables were prepared with just that hint of char that lets you know it was cooked with lots of love and care. It brings out the natural flavors in the veggies so well! I've also never tasted cracked pepper so fresh and flavorful. The stuff I have at home tastes like ash now. The entree, of coarse, was the chicken. It was prepared with mushrooms and artichokes in a lemon butter sauce. When I tell you I cried when I took the first bite, I'm not even exaggerating. My husband asked how it was and I managed to choke out between sobs and chews, "It's... So... f***ing... Good!" Absolute best thing I've tasted in I can't remember how long. The chicken was so juicy, tender, and again, perfectly charred to really make the flavors explode. Such an exquisite balance of zingy lemon, creamy buttery sauce, and again, very fresh mushrooms and artichoke that give the dish the extra pop of flavor. I can not even express how much this meal meant to me. It's the first thing that's made me smile in quite some time. I ate until I was painfully full and still have some left over for tomorrow. What can I say? It tasted like more! All in all, I stand by my original answer, with a slight modification- The best Italian food is whatever Chef Giuseppe feels like cooking that day. I have no idea what my dish was called, but it was absolutely art, made out of food, that really cheered an overworked mom up.
By far one of the best Italian spots in Denton!! The brushetta bread is to die for plus a wonderful wine selection ...our waiter Tony was awesome very helpful !! I Would definitely recommend this place for any event great ambience and a touch of fine Italian dining at its best!!!
Incredible experience. Accommodated a group of 21 with only 3 days notice. Allowed us to run an etiquette dinner with limited menu options. Our waiter, Tony was exceptional and ensured our evening was a success. Thankful for the team at Giuseppe's who allowed us to have this great dinner!
Absolutely amazing food, wonderful, quick and friendly service and the price of the food was great. It was our first time going in there tonight and what a very pleasant surprise. We will be back without a doubt and would for sure recommend going to eat there to anyone looking for a great Italian place.
Absolutely delicious Italian food. Beautiful old home full of character. Good kids menu. Good for groups. Top 3 all time cannoli (order comes with 2!). Wine, salads, entrees, desserts, cool location. 👍🏼👍🏼
