The food was sooo yummy! We all (my kiddo and his dad) had the fajitas and we all loved it!! The waitress that we had was friendly enough and the food was extremely well portioned for the price. Only downside is that it doesn't come with shredded cheddar cheese like most fajita meals do at restaurants. Get there early because the later it gets, the longer the wait. We were told 45 minutes, but it was more like 20, so that was great. All in all a great family place to eat. 💯

Excellent customer service! The food was good other than the chicken which was a little tough but not horrible I'd prefer a softer bite. Would recommend checking out something new.

First time visit. Chips and salsa were good. Ordered the chicken fajitas and they were enjoyable. Menu is reasonably priced. Our server Jasmine was nice and attentive. I will return.

The coconut margaritas are to DIE for. I will be thinking about the deliciousness in the days to come. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was pleasing. The salsa…. my goodness.. can I have the recipe?! It h was so fresh and refreshing. I was pleased all around. It’s a must try!! I will be coming back again and recommending to everyone. Thank you. My experience was top notch.

Secondly....our Food was Amazing...start to finish....and even later because we had leftovers. 😉
10 Stars if I could.

We really really like this place. They have some bible verses in the menu, so my prayer is that you won't be triggered by that, but instead you could just enjoy the free chips and salsa.

Very nice restaurant, great guacamole! Definitely worth a stop in. Not really authentic, more of a Tex-mex.

Excellent food, good service of you ask the right person to bring you something. The most attentive waitress was the chip server!!
When I ask for a coke, I was brought a Pepsi- yuk!! When I ask the salsa lady if I could have a Dr. Pepper, she took the Pepsi away and told us she'd tell our server... one of them forgot because I ask for a Dr. Pepper when he brought our meal and finally got it. We enjoyed the food and visiting with friends over lunch! We will try it again!

Better timing, I was waiting over 20 min for someone to come by so I could get a Togo box and the check. Bether training, because my dish came with queso, which when I finally got it, because i had to ask for it, I was basically full so when I asked for a small top off on the togo they charged me for a full separate queso. $2.50 for less then an table spoon of queso, seriously. Thumbs down on villa grande. I can find tortilla soup elsewhere. $35 for a small drink, soup, and appitizer when the service was bad too. Ridiculous!!!

My wife and I went in today for a quick meal before going to meet a friend.
We came in and it wasn't busy but there were a few tables in there.
We got sat in a cozy corner table.
Our server came over without chips and salsa and asked us what we wanted to drink and I looked at my wife and asked her if she wanted an appetizer and when I turned to the server, she was gone. I think our server's name was America??
Anyway, when she came back with our drinks, we then ordered our food and I ordered a margarita. She repeated the order which was correct and then she left. We waited about another 5 minutes (by now we have been there about 10-15) and we still didn't have chips and salsa.
She came with my drink and said " oh, y'all still don't have chips and salsa? ". Like we were supposed to go get it or something.
She came back with it a few minutes later.
After two tables who got sat before us got their food before we did (and my wife and I split an appetizer plate), we finally got our food.
The cheese in the quesadillas was not melted, the cheese on the plate was sticking to the other items which means it has been sitting in the window for a bit.
But, we didn't say anything and ate it.
She never came back to check on us until she brought the check.
She dropped the check and I said we needed one box and 2 small containers for our queso and sour cream.
She returned with a box and nothing else and walked off.
No small containers and never asked , "Any dessert?" , "how was everything?" Or "I'll take care of the check when you're ready".
We never saw her again.
I very rarely make reviews but, this was just bad. The food was okay, not saying we won't be back, but, the servers need better training and need to know how to at least pretend they care for their tables.

So enjoyed our lovely meal and our server, sorry I didn't get her name, was just as cute as she could be. We were very hungry and didn't have to wait at all to get a table on Saturday night, which that is almost unheard of...food was really great, loved the spinach and mushrooms in my quesadilla. We were very full, came home and promptly fell asleep at 8:30 p.m.

Tried it for the first time and got my food to go. Got home and had a spoonful of beans and a spoonful of rice and u could tell they literally threw the food together! Very bland too! Salsa wasn't even spicy nor hot! Maybe I should have gotten a margarita instead of food!

Worst service. Ordered a margherita, was charged 22.74 and when I complained got the bill reduced, then they called the northeast cops for a possible dui. Not a chance. Called my sister to get me. The worst experience ever. Food was sub par
Never go there for drinks and dinner. Seriously!

Beautiful place with good Texican food.. With all the chic little places orbiting around this one, I was actually worried I would be overcharged and underfed by association somehow.

I was not. Everything bristled with flavor and fluffiness, and all things were set well in balance. I got a burrito that was loaded with all you normally see accompanying the main part of your dish: rice, beans, etc. So everything had to be good, and it was. The flavor of the grilled beef was unique and intoxicating..it made me want to have a margarita, which I seldom do, but still didn't.

Now there is one part of my review that was untrue. When I ordered the dish I did, I got it because I had missed getting guacamole. With this addition, the dish seemed to be the answer in rounding up an already great burrito -with some creamy and flavorful guacamole. But what I received looked less like a side and more like an accident. I do believe I've never seen a scope of anything so tiny. I know restaurants are defensive of their sauces, and also this particular item, but I suspect the guacamole here is delivered with an armored truck.

This is a beautiful place and location ( in smirking contrast to El Matador) and should, for the most part, be strongly recommended.

Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due. This restaurant is one of a threesome, actually soon to be a foursome, when it is completed in the Saginaw/Haslet area. If you read the other reviews you would think this is the worst place on Earth. Far from it. While the food is definitely on the mild side, I find most of the Mexican restaurants in the DFW area fall into the same category. No one seems to like any heat or spice in their south-of-the-border fare. Yes, Villa Grande does lean toward mildness. Flavor-wise it is very good though. I had the Platillo Norte which consisted of a tamale covered with a ground meat chili sauce, a unsauced beef burrito, and a cheese enchilada. Each was nicely presented, and served with the ubiquitous beans and rice. This was standard fare for me like 90% of the Mexican restaurants--so-so in execution, but nothing to really rave about. But bad? No, I wouldn't say that at all.

The surroundings were nice. Not real crazy about the plastic-coated tablecloths. They make for an easy clean-up, but for having nice lacquered wooden furniture and a stunning bar as a centerpiece, it makes the place look a little cheap.

Service was fine. Checked on twice and asked if everything was all right, which it was. Offered refill on iced tea, but didn't really need it. While the place was not packed, it was still moving at a brisk pace. Villa Grande Mexican Restaurant--don't be afraid.

It was a miss for me. Food was just ok and service was about the same- just ok.

Can we puh-leez get a good Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant in Denton? Taco Cabana is the closest thing, and that won't cut it. Even the Fuzzy's here sucks, and every one of the 11 Fuzzy's I've been to in Dallas and Ft Worth were great. Villa Grande was like El Chico (bland, uninspired, boilerplate) but cost twice as much. Gracias for trying, but no thanks. Banquet TV dinners have better enchiladas than this place.

NO NO NO. No no no!! This place needs it's Mexican Restaurant name taken away! I looked around for a good mexican place and read some reviews hoping someone had a good experience and I'm not sure if these other people ate at a location that doesn't exist because the location I went to turned into a horrible experience. Maybe I am a little too picky and actually like some flavor on my food, if that's the case then you should go to this restaurant if you like to pretend you are eating mexican food but don't want the taste, in fact it's more like eating tofu with some tortilla chips. Please do not waste your time eating here, there is no good food and actually the salsa taste like ketchup, yep, ketchup...I thought that was interesting as well. Oh, and don't forget the sticky short tables that make you feel like you are sitting on the floor and rubbing your arms on the last persons meal. If these are the things your looking for then this place is for you.
