Buckhorn Exchange - Denver - Photo album

This was my first time at The Buckhorn Exchange...I knew of it but had never stopped in previous trips to Denver. The decor is awesome and I would certainly call it unique compared to any other restaurant I have been to. The servers are exceptional, helpful and extremely knowledgeable of the menu
Recommended by a local tour guide, I can see why, this place is inviting & the wait staff friendly& attentive, sharing stories & information on the restaurants history. I had the Buffalo (blackened & my favourite) & Elk combo, coffee was excellent too. Easy to get to from Union Station. Great last n
Great place to see when you're in denver. I got the Rocky Mountain Oysters, for bull testicles they tasted pretty good. Also got Buffalo and Elk. It was amazing. Great tasting meats. Full with flavor. Also, the apple pie was delicious. We chose to sit upstairs, and I found that to be a better area t
The eye candy is everywhere. The meat candy is brought to your table to feast on while your eyes feast on all the historical stuff there is to see there. We got the Blackened Buffalo Prime Rib and it was so tender we could cut it with a fork. Really top notch. Our waitress Stephanie was absolutely a
First time visiting this historic place! I would it loved up to the reputation for sure. It is decorated with endless items from the past. The food was great and filling. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended
There aren't many places you can eat elk and Buffalo while looking at Teddy Roosevelt's original rough rider flag or Wild Bill's signature. I'm so glad we were able to experience this one-of-a-kind resteraunt! The food was delicious, the service was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosph
Meat and mashed were very good. Veggies are not their strong side. Very enjoyable meal, but quite basic and felt like it was not worth the price. The atmosphere was great, the service was nice, sometimes little overbearing and less classy than you might think, but you can tell they tried.
My husband and I have been wanting to try the Buckhorn for quite a while and finally decided to make a date night of it. The surroundings are really neat (although if you have an issue with taxidermy, I'd steer clear, ha ha). I loved the ambiance of the top floor, including the jackalopes, and the s
Tried Rocky Mountain Oysters from the oldest restaurant in the Greater Denver area. It was an experience but didn't like the taste of the food much. The server was friendly and we had good conversations. Overall its a must visif once if you are in the Denver area. Been there, done that
While Staying at the the Oldest Denver Hotel, The Oxford, I Decided to Enjoy the Oldest Denver Restaurant - The Buckhorn Exchange. Excellent Food Perfect, Attentive Service Not Simply a Restaurant yet a “Museum” in which One could spend Hours Exploring!!!!!!! We sat at The Bar for a few Drinks and u
This has been one of my favorite restaurants to go to. The Bison steaks are cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, and melt in your mouth. The staff are extremely nice and helpful while the atmosphere goes above and beyond. Very wonderful place to go for a nice dinner with family or a romantic
Outstanding food at this one-of-a-kind restaurant. A lot of history in this building. You won’t get tired of the scenery. I went all out and the food was so good, I forgot to take pictures of it!! Will be back again!
This place was a very unique experience, with more taxidermy animals than I've ever seen! Historic place!Really good steak and Rocky Mountain oysters!
WOW! This is a great slice of ‘Americana’ and a trip back in time. First opened in 1893 and little has changed - part restaurant and part museum! We had the elk and local lamb chops - all cooked perfectly. Our server (Nadia) was great let us take our time to absorb all of the magnificent surrounding
This is kind of outside of town but is really neat. It is the oldest restaurant in Denver and goes hard into the Wild West history. Don’t take a vegetarian or vegan here. There’s guns and taxidermy everywhere and it’s amazing to behold. Food was okay but the atmosphere made up for it. My $60 cut of
A friend flew in from St. Petersburg, at the top of his to-do list, was eat at the Buckhorn. I have been a patron of this place for many years, and I love taking visitors here. Always a wonderful experience. There is nothing like the food, drinks, service, and historical atmosphere of the Buckhorn.
I came here over 30 years ago. Now coming back to Denver tried to find this place and did thank God we found it! Great history wonderful stories. Yes it’s a little over the top with all the stuffed animals but such a cool, rich history. The food was really really good. I love the wild game types o
