Today I decided to live a little and venture beyond the confines of my cube farm and actually treat myself to some chow on the town. I literally just got in my truck, drove into Denville and let my open mind and empty stomach lead the way. It lead me straight to Weenies, since a big 'ole SUV was backing out of a pretty convenient parking space. I crossed the street, walked in and was welcomed with a warm smile and hello by a kind gentleman who I later came to realize is the owner, Michael, thanks to the cool plaque behind me memorializing an article on the relatively new restaurant's success. I was hit with options...this place is hot dog creativity on 'roids and it is awesome. Being a huge fan of not only a tasty dog, but Mexican food, I went with the Nacho Dog: a plump, juicy dog smothered in righteous cheese, chili sauce, guacamole, and the pièce de résistance, jalapeños, because some like it hot. I got it to go, along with a side of the regular fries. I saw Michael engaging with the customers, asking them how their food was, as well as doing a fine job managing. We feast first with our eyes and second with our tastebuds and both episodes were two thumbs high in the sky. This hot dog looked and tasted delicious and it was the size of essentially two standard size hot dogs. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, and I was sad when it was all gone. The fries are straight cut, thick, and perfectly seasoned. Bonus round points: 1- they deliver and you can order online; 2- they are open til 3 (I'm usually turning around for a fifth time in my bed at that hour but it's good to know my insomnia has a remedy if my stomach is awake in the wee hours); 3- they have a large variety of milkshakes as well! Hot dog heaven. Can't wait to go back. This time I'll be prepared!! Hot diggity I found my dog park ya'll!
The hot dogs were okay. My boyfriend got the bagel dog and really liked it. The cheese fries were delicious and the chicken fingers were pretty good but didn't come with any dipping sauce, which was weird.
I was in last night after being at thatchers. The place is amazing. Great customer service. Short girl with red hair was super friendly and gave me the best food recommendations. The guys in the kitchen got my food out really fast and they had a good system going. I sure enjoyed my visit and will be visiting every weekend. Keep up the fantastic work weenies!
This is a good place to get a quick and satisfying bite to eat. The hot dogs are a good size (about 7" - 8") and have a really good snap to them as well. I got The Works with a side of fries when I went the first time and it hit the spot. There are not a lot of seats at that place but it looked like they were very busy with delivery orders.
Definitely a place I will go back to.
Old review : Overpriced. Over $3 for a dog with kraut is criminal. Small unassuming dog, blah bun, meh kraut. Not a repeat.
That was my original review about 2 years ago. Thank you for the reply, and I have it a try again tonight with my wife and daughter.
Better pricing, Much better dog, better bun. The kraut was better but I did not enjoy the taste (but that is my opinion and others may enjoy it). The fries are really good, and the chili on my wife's dog was good, too.
Thank you for listening to customers! Your attitude towards an unfavorable review was great to read and made me want to try again!
We will return for sure.
Delicious hot dogs, loved the nacho dog. My girlfriend got cheese fries and an all the way dog, both were outstanding, and reasonably priced. The fact that they deliver until 3 a.m. is pretty sweet, too. Definitely will be back.
It's a small place, but it's great that they deliver until 3 am. I've been here on a few different occasions and their sliders are good. Personally, I can eat just their cheese fries for a meal. They're AMAZING and the portion is perfect. I tried a hot dog for one visit there and they were good, minus the Cheetos they put on it. They were so stale that it was painful to bite into.
Great variety of hotdog topping styles with lots of free topping options and good fries. Chili on the fries wasn't my favorite, but everything else we had was delicious and prices were quite reasonable as we stuffed 6 people for under $50. Staff was very friendly and checked in on us while seated outside.
Good food. Had the 'Fries all the Way' and they were excellent - just the right amount of toppings with so many that the fries go soggy. And the Chili was spot on. The Cuban Dog was OK.. But so much going on it obscured the dog. I had a Terri special with bacon and corn relish.. WOW. Perfect. And we had between us a bunch of the sliders which were awesome. This is another one of the go to places...
Gave this place a try and it was so pleasantly surprising. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Tried a few types of dogs and sliders, as well as fries.
Delish on all counts. But especially had me at the brown gravy on the fries...rivaled any great NJ diner.
Will definitely be back. Glad there is another Denville spot to love. (plus they deliver and are open till 3 a.m.)
Swine dog was great! Counter guy is very nice. Have to admit they really did add a lot of new items to the menu and the hot dogs are definitely bigger than last time I was here, highly recommend you give them a try!
Not sure if the hot dogs are a proprietary recipe, but if you got just a plain dog, you wouldn't be disappointed, they're that good. I get chili on mine and their hot dog chili is excellent; has just a hint of chocolate to it which you wouldn't think would work but it 100% does.
