Perfect lunch spot when you want something more than the fast casual lunch spots. Great place for business lunches, or meetings at the bar. I had the Crab Cake Salad which was phenomenal. If you’re a seafood fan, I recommend trying Centro crab cakes. Service always attentive, food arrives quickly.
My best friend and I wanted to go somewhere different during our weekend away and Centro was recommended. I am so glad we went. For starters, we were greeted by 3 people right away. Our water glasses were never under half way full. The food was amazing and were pretty generous portions! The atmosphere in Centro was perfect as well. Not your typical cheesy Italian decor. If you want a non uppity white linen dining experience, consider checking it out. Also, our server Saeed was spectacular and made the whole night a ton of fun.
We had a reservations at another restaurant for nine people celebrating a birthday. . We waited at that place for at least a half hour and still no table. I called Centro and asked if we could get in. They had a table ready for us by the time we got there( ten minutes from other resturaunt). Im glad we chose Centro. The food was excellent, and so was the service. Thank you.
My girlfriend has always wanted to come here! She loves pizza! Little pizza big pizza tall pizza short pizza I'm calling all pizza ! Every body report to the dance floor.
I have not actually eaten IN Centro yet, but attended a wedding there and have gotten take out salads. The bruschetta at wedding was the best i have ever had in my life ( and i have eaten ALot of bruschetta) and we have enjoyed the Centro salad and Buttermilk chicken salad and our traditional garlic and blanco pizzas ( even cold!) we will eat inside one day....

Our server was excellent! I got the Centro calzone and it was so flaky and delicious!
I had a pasta dish, perfectly al dente, homemade and thus so flavorful. Sausages just wonderful, spiced perfectly. Excellent service and ambience.
Our waitress was the best ever. She seemed to come to our table at just the right time with more drinks or just to check on us. The food was good too.
Food was delicious and waiter was so awesome. I will be back to eat again.

The food, staff and atmosphere was excellent. Our server was amazing!
It was beautiful atmosphere, the food was nicely portioned, and the menu was great. Cooked well. I would say the food still could have been better, it certainly wasn’t to die for, and at this price I should be licking the plate! Service wasn’t great, the server gave us burnt bread and knew it too. I will try again, but it is a bit pricey for just alright service and food. Great desserts

Solid 4.6 Star dining experience. I had to really nitpick to find anything wrong with our meal.
Our service was excellent. The server explained the menu extensively and worked with us to figure out an alternative to an allergy.
We ordered crab cakes and bruschetta to start. Both delicious and packed lots of flavor. The crab cakes, thankfully, had lots of crab, which isn’t always the case here in the Midwest. My only knock on the bruschetta was that it could be cut further. It felt more like a salad than normal bruschetta. Otherwise, it was incredible.
For entrées, we ordered the ribeye, Scallops, Beef tenderloin, and the chicken Francese. There wasn’t a single complaint about the dishes in the table.
Our beverages were also quite delicious, and this is probably where our complaints come to play. A couple of our cocktails were served with regular ice, which diluted them quickly. I wish they served them with a large cube. Also, our wine did come out after we were almost done with our entrees, but it was a packed Friday evening.
That being said, we had a great experience and would recommend Centro to all who live or visit Des Moines!
Awesome experience. Italian pasta and pizza. The free garlic bread is absolutely delicious. One of my favorite places to eat in town. Perfect for lunch or dinner.
I tried it once before covid and both pasta dishes weren't up to our standards. However I just visited again for the half priced pizza and both the pizza and pasta were impressive! Glad I gave Centro another chance.
Sooooo good! Their meals are large, not family style, but close...and this is the lunch portion. Pair with a salad or appetizer to easily feed 2 people. Try the Handmade Cavatelli... Amazing!
