Mama Mia’s Des Moines on SW 9th Street has really good gluten-free pizza!! I went last night for dinner and the owners/chefs took extra precaution to prevent cross-contamination. The sauce is homemade and the toppings are gluten-free too. It was so good!!! Reasonably priced. Jealous I couldn’t eat the meatballs or Stromboli because they looked really good too. Also a fun place for kids (or kids at heart) as their tables are chalkboard tables. I will definitely be back soon!! �

I cannot say enough great things!!! We had salads, taco pizza, and pepperoni pizza. The food was all amazing, but the service....OUTSTANDING!!! We showed up close to closing time. We did call in to make sure it was ok we did that. We, however, did NOT warn them we were coming in with a bunch of hungry, hyper preteens. Styles was our server and he was so great with the kids. Very funny and interactive, and his patience with them was admirable. We absolutely just found our go-to spot, which is nice because we drive by it at least 4 times a day. We can’t wait to go back and try new things, and the kids can’t wait to go back to see Styles.
This place is amazing!! Food, service, environment, all of it! We tried the Parm fries, salads, and buffalo chicken pizza; ALL AMAZING! Our server was Styles, he was observant, entertained our preteens hyper crazy questions about the new place and was very polite! They stayed open late for us(we called beforehand to make sure it would be okay to show up half hour before close, they said our hours are flexible since we are just opening and we will have a table ready for you!.. and they did!!) We will definitely be back!

Fantastic Italian food. I’m sure I will catch a lot of flack for this, but I think it’s among he very best in Des Moines. Unique flavors, great apps (try the meatball bread bowl) and the Creamy Garlic Sausage pizza is mouthwatering. I’m a fan. Their GIANT meatball sandwich could probably serve 3...maybe 4.

If it’s as good as in Evansville when I was a kid (and I admit I was briefly the worst employee ever at Mama Mia’s there — apologies to Bob and Trudy), then it’s fantastic.
Amazing food, amazing service! We tried the Parm fries, meatballs and pizza, everything was so good and they bent over backwards to provide excellent service, definitely a new favorite!
We got there about 7:30 for dinner tonight, had about a 10 minute wait for a table. The servers were great! Food was delicious!!! The owner came and chatted with us a couple of times! We’ll definitely be back! Hopefully in time to try the meatballs!

I got the 16" Mama's Masterpiece. The pizza was awesome! The service was great, too! I realized I forgot my wallet at home. They told me to take the pizza and call with the card number from home. That saved me a trip home and back. It's nice to see a business run by people who trust others.
Yay, first review! Recently moved to his new site but still with the same great food. Not the best pizza you'll ever eat but excellent regardless. Go if you haven't been yet!

Delicious! I like to pick up a few pounds of their home made Italian sausage to take home. It is amazing!
I ordered the take-and-bake lasagna (it also came with garlic bread and a huge, delicious salad) and it was so lovely. 10/10 recommend.
