For a small town small business Chinese restaurant the Chinese Dragon is one of the best I've ever been to! The food is always just right and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I love how much is on the menu too. I never get bored of their choices and the buffet on sunday is always full and fresh!
I've been away from Detroit Lakes for over a year. Its good to be back to be able to dine at Chinese Dragon. In my travels I tried other Chinese restaurants. I was never satisfied with the food. Chinese Dragon in Detroit Lakes is my favorite Chinese restaurant. I always compared the food from the other restaurants to Chinese Dragon just like you do with your mothers cooking. I could never find a egg roll better than Chinese Dragons.
Excellent food, very reasonable prices, excellent service. Quality of food is wonderful. Can definitely see why this establishment has been around for so many years. ππΌ
Always is my favorite restaurant. One of the only places I eat in DL. I moved away from the area and have tried other like restaurants in the Alexandria, Wilmar area. None of them compare to yours. Sometimes I just make a trip to DL which is 2hrs away just to eat there.
Best Chinese place! Love it! We go here a couple times a month!

My husband and I drove from Brainerd to Detroit Lake ( around 100 miles, one way)
Solely to eat at the Chinese Dragon! We've eaten there before...and it was as good as we remembered. Brainerd has several Asian restaurants, but none of them come even close to
The Chinese Dragon...we are very much looking forward to our next trip there!
I had the amazing soup, that comes with the meal!! And I had the Sweet and Sour Pork, Pork Fried Rice, and Chicken Chow Mein, and we shared an order of Egg Rolls.
I'll be ordering the exact same thing next time too! ππ½
Best Chinese food I've had since China Restaurant closed in St Cloud. You can tell they actually make there own stuff. Definitely will be back!
One of our favorite places to eat. The Sunday Buffet is always great!!!
Had lunch there today. Cabbage soup was good. I would have liked more cabbage in the broth. They didn't have peanut chicken which I love. Lots of fried rice and a hug egg roll. I can't remember the name of the main dish but it had shrimp in it. Only 4 shrimp that was disappointing. Wait staff were very nice and prompt. I will go back.
Absolutely AMAZING!! Server was sooo nice! Atmosphere was awesome and not tacky. Service was fast even during the dinner rush and a packed house. Food came out very hot and perfectly seasoned with tons of flavor! I love that the menu describes each dish & the ingredients so thoroughly. There's no surprise of what you're ordering! I like that they are willing to do substitutions but it will cost you. The serving sizes are HUGE! Much more than any other Asian restaurant I've been to. Owner takes immense pride in his homemade egg rolls and high quality ingredients. You can tell they order high quality beef & chicken! The beef & broccoli dinner was so good with plenty of leftovers! The meat was so tender! Great place to eat! Will always be one of my favorites in town! 2 thumbs π πup & highly recommend!
Bought egg rolls to go. Called when I was at JCPenney, walked over and they were ready. Egg rolls seem to have fresh cabbage, carrots, green onions and chicken(may be pork). Slightly greasey, but fresh and have a slight flakiness and crunch. Savory, writing this review makes me want more. To go comes with panda mustard, sweet and sour, and soy sauce. Have eaten here multiple times in the past and have never been disappointed. Do enjoy their tea and quiet atmosphere.
The best in the area. The fried rice is out if this world. Their rice soup is the tastiest
