Incredible Hidden Gem in The D. My wife heard about this restaurant somehow. And us, being the true Detroit fans, we had to find it. The drive from downtown takes you through some real stories of what Detroit used to be and what it is trying to become again. We occasionally drove off of Woodward to check out the beautiful neighborhoods too. Once we found Dutch Girl we were sold. We never have seen a donut shop quite like it. The "lobby" can hold only 4 people, and there really isn't a parking lot. The donuts are soft, delicious, and worth the drive. My wife and I each had one, but once we got to our car had to get another one. We talked with some locals and really enjoyed it. It's truly a hidden gem.
The Donuts are simply the best! They melt in your mouth and they are well worth the calories!
The unofficial Critic. The donuts and cookies are delicious. I love how soft they are, especially the windmill cookies. Other bakeries seem to make look it look hard to produce the quality that this bakery possesses or maybe Dutch Girl just makes it seem easy.
