Reviews La Scala Italian Bistro

We had a reservation on a busy Saturday night. I had called ahead to say it was our anniversary (our first date was there on Valentines Day 2 years ago). Our server, Sandra, had placed a heart shaped candle on the table. I have to say, we had returned out of nostalgia but will continue to seek out this restaurant for the delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and impeccable service. Our server was personable and funny but did not "over attend" to us. When it was clear we wanted to just start by having a drink and listen to the excellent pianist, she literally said the words "take your time". This is not something I am used to hearing in an establishment that was clearly dealing with more customers than available tables. This set the tone for our evening and it was absolutely wonderful in every way. There was a young man (assistant waiter) that kept our table cleared and our waters full. The two servers worked so well together we never felt that we "needed" anything . The renovations are beautiful and Sandra gave a quick explanation of what was completed in the rest of the house (occupied that night) and how they were available for weddings and rehearsals among other events. She also gave us a delightful description of the Friday night atmosphere there when live bands are playing and even gave us an event schedule she seemed very proud if a restaurant where she claimed to have been employed for 20+ years (did not look that old-possibly slight exaggeration for affect) . I know it's difficult to believe over the top reviews and I admit to being intoxicated by our celebration but we could not have asked for a better time as Lascala was a delightful experience from the reservation to our complimentary dessert. We will be back.

One of my faves!. I've been going here for the last 4 years and it's one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. They've remodeled in the last couple years and it looks really good inside! The food is always really good. They're chicken marsala is the best! The homemade spaghetti is really good too. The service is good. Some nights of the week they have live music entertainment. They have a really good piano player who plays a good variety of older & current music. I've recommended La Scala to many people and I'm sure I will continue to.

The food at La Scala is awesome. My husband and I hosted our wedding reception there...I would definitely recommend it to others.
