.Critic's corner for this week was at the Lakeview Lodge located in Treasure Lake.
The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. The out door Fall display adorned the entrance way to the vestibule and upon entering the grand receiving area is a lovely 2 story tall fireplace Decorated in Fall fashion.
We passed some time in the bar waiting for our dining companions to arrive. The bartender was friendly courteous and fun to be with. It seems you can always find old friends and make new ones there.
There were 7 of us dining together in the restaurant part of the building where we could get a beautiful view of the Sun going down over the gorgeous lake. Sun sets over Treasure Lake are among the most beautiful that you'll find anywhere and tonight was not disappointing.
Several of us ordered fried fish-and-chips, Salmon, Steak salad and Prime-rib Philly Cheese steak.
Our waitress was very friendly and professional and made everyone feel welcome at our table.
Every one seemed to enjoy their meals. Of course one of our dining companion has a very sweet tooth and decided to order the oreo cookie Creme brulee. It was served in a plain coffee cup and did not have any type of garnish so it looked pretty plain when it was served on the table.
I asked our companion if they injoied the desert And I'm sorry to say that they did not. We informed the Waitress and she was kind enough to not only take it off of his bill but tried a second one for him to enjoy but he only tasted 1 spoonful And left the rest on the table.
I think a piece of chocolate cake with chocolate icing would have gone over much better. 😀
Our over all dining experience was very pleasant and it was nice to see old faces and meet new friends.
But I am sure they will have to rethink the desert.
Would I recommend the Lakeview lodge? absolutely without a doubt it was a very enjoyable evening. Fare pricing and great staff.

Lakeview Lodge is a beautiful location, but I highly suggest an event coordinator if you're planning a wedding + reception. You can come in and decorate the day before and rehearse. There can be a flow to since the Ceremony (Gazebo) is a bit of a walk from the lodge itself for the reception. As a DJ I had problems with the electric being turned on for me to plug into the gazebo and the communication between the staff seemed like it took a while to find an answer. The set-up inside has the dance floor on one side and seating on the other side with beautiful windows looking out to the tennis courts and lake. - Laine (Awe•Struck Entertainment)

Great view and opportunity to meet others at Treasure Lake. Only issue is they follow too many rules by the book. For example they have an adult swim from 6 - 6:15 PM but the only ones enjoying the pool are mostly the kids who can't understand why the pool is empty for the adult swim and they can't go back in until 6:15 PM. There has to be some discretion by the lifeguards.

This place is so outdated. Looks like a sound stage for The Shining on the inside

For all that the Lakeview Lodge possesses in a beautiful aesthetic and view, they are completely lacking in professionalism. We signed the contract to book the lodge as our wedding reception venue shortly after the COVID restrictions began. Then, after having had the venue booked for nearly a year and with only 3 months to go before our wedding, they informed us that they would no longer be doing any weddings during the summer due to COVID restrictions and that our reception there was cancelled. We were left to scramble to replan our wedding in the short span of three months. And the reasoning behind their cancellation is nonsensical because by the end of that same short span, the state's restrictions had been totally lifted. Luckily for us, our wedding date was available at Luigi's Villa, where everyone was extremely kind and helpful and aided us in planning what ended up being a beautiful wedding day. The Lakeview Lodge treated us like we were expendable and left us high and dry in the stressful situation of replanning a wedding with EXTREMELY short notice. I would not recommend booking this venue to anyone because no one should be treated that way, but fortunately for us we ended up with a much better venue at Luigi's Villa because of it.
