We stopped in one evening when another option fell through. It was a Wednesday evening and even though there were 8 of us they were able to seat us outside right away. There is plenty of both outside and inside seating. Our server was friendly and attentive. Everything was delicious! We had several appetizers and I had the special which was a filet with crab meat on top. Everything was cooked perfectly. We would certainly return.
Food was pretty great as seen in the attached photos. Only complaint is that the steak came without a knife. When we asked for one the waitress asked if my daughter could cut it with her butter knife. Steak was well done instead of med. It's saving grace was that it was a filet, which kinda makes it a bit of a travesty. We'll be back despite these little misteps.
Have been here for two "holiday" buffets and have loved them both. Mother's Day and Thanksgiving. The price is between $40 and $50 per person but is well worth it. The quality and choice of entrees on the buffet are top notch. There are no "fillers". Each entree would have been featured on a regular menu on another day. The atmosphere is appropriately casual and the food can help it be a really special dinner/brunch. Would recommend.
We love the food here. The waitress excused in advance for longer wait times as they are understaffed. We didn't notice it, as the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. And was great, and the waitress was very friendly. Highly recommend this place.
We visited twice during our October week in Duck! Both times the food was wonderful and Jack our waiter was very attentive. We would definitely recommend and will be visiting again next year. Just to bad we can't move the building across the street totally blocks the sunset on the sound.
Great food and service. Nice little spot. Only strange thing was request for our zip code when paying the bill and the card was out of our sight for longer than normal.
The restaurant is great but their Chefs On Call service is even BETTER! Had an incredible experience and they left the kitchen even cleaner than they found it! All the food was delicious and for a group of 18 it was really pretty affordable compared to a restaurant meal

Food was delicious! I recommend this place if you look for some yummy food well worth it. An seating was quick! I have to say I'm happy that got to taste their art!
The restaurant doesn't look like much but the food is high end and fantastic! The staff is friendly and attentive. We have gone to Red Sky for the last three years while on vacation and it has never disappointed! It is definitely a high end restaurant (prices to match but worth it) hiding in a cafe exterior.
Excellent burger! My other half loved the Mahi tacos. Kitchen was a little slow.. Beignets were suppose to be for to go.... they didn't make , so good! We met Wes, the owner, very personable. We will come back!
Red Sky Cafe has a wonderful, eclectic menu. Hubby had the Beast Burger which he said was exquisite...my shrimp and grits were awesome, fish tacos and chicken parm both were yummy.
Went here for brunch. The staff were super friendly, allergy accommodating and informative, friendly and attentive. Had outdoor seating area shaded which was great. I highly recommend the mimosa bar more than enough for two perfect for about four and not expensive for all you get! Food was great. Will be back.
Very nice seating outdoors. Food was ok, not bad, just ok. I would go here if you wanted a quick bite to eat. In the heart of Duck and amongst all the shopping this offers the opportunity to sit and enjoy ocean breezes and a bite to eat. Bathrooms are outside when seated outside but have to climb stairs that are NOT noticeably marked for the visually impaired (cane or dog use is a must unless you have kiddos) Please 👍🏽my review.
Red Sky Cafe catered our wedding this past September and it was all anyone could talk about. The quality of the food is incredible and we opted for a family style meal which was presented on beautiful wood displays for each table. Their staff was incredibly friendly and you can tell the really enjoy what they do. I was so impressed that not only did they continue to check on our guests, they offered to bring out more food for the tables if guests wanted seconds (a lot of people took them up on this offer) and they were so accommodating to any requests we had. When we did our wedding tasting with them a year ago at NC Grill (their other location), we went at lunch time and decided to go back for dinner later that day because it was that good. Highly recommend!!
Party of 8 (4A,4K) during Easter break. It was a nice enough evening and asked if we could sit outside. Staff were accommodating and wiped down tables for us. Food was great, server was personable and checked on us several times. Outside seating was nice and from what I saw of interior look pleasant as well, but small as most OBX restaurants are. Had the deep fried seafood plate.... The batter was lite, crispy, and not greasy at all. During servers recommendations the server thought it to be a bit heavy , I didn't think it was. Would definitely go there again.
We decided to hire a chef on call from Red Sky for our mother’s 90th birthday. We could not be more pleased with how everything turned out. Chef Chory and Dillon arrived at our house on time and were amazing. We were blown away by how delicious all the food was with enough variety to please the group. Everyone agrees that hiring these two again will become at least an annual event. Thank you Chory and Dillon.
Love the atmosphere of this place and the great customer service. The food was amazing, I had the Thai coconut and ginger, very filling and the curry was a great balance.
