The Back Yard Bar at Roadside Bar and Grill in Duck, NC, was an absolute gem! The staff exuded fun and friendliness, instantly making me feel like a local rather than a tourist. The absence of a touristy vibe was refreshing. The outdoor fire pit added a cozy touch on a cool summer evening, creating the perfect ambiance. Live music only enhanced the experience, and the well-curated drink selection struck a perfect balance between variety and simplicity. It was the ideal spot to relax with a drink and unwind after a day at the shore. Highly recommended for a laid-back and enjoyable time!

It is a cool place! The food is better than so many other places in town. Fun environment and live! Don’t forget the Monday live music and Bingo night! Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere and will go back on my next visit! Enjoy and enjoy!

This restaurant offers excellent cocktails, delicious food, and a modest menu with a variety of choices. Yes, there are some seafood dishes, but if you want something else, you can find it here. The building gives off a dive bar atmosphere. It's a little rough around the edges and cramped. But wait staff work together as a team and are very friendly and hospitable. Prices are what you'd expect in a resort area. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking in the lot behind the building.

They seated our party of 9 outside within 5 minutes of arriving, which worked well considering it was 70 degrees. They had delicious complimentary bread. Our server was polite & checked on us regularly. The food was pricier and worth it! I really enjoyed the seafood.

Place looks run down and the need to repair the tables that are outside up front, but the food was great and our server was very attentive. In our group of 8, there was not one complaint about the food or service. I would definitely try to check this restaurant out again the next time I am in Duck.

Delicious food! Great atmosphere and decor. Bathrooms were clean. We had the fish sandwich and French dip which were equally fabulous! I had the Kill Devil Hills rum punch, yummy. Outside bar area looks fun when open with a live music stage.

We were able to bring our two pups to dinner with us, which is very important to us. Our waitress brought them water many times. Food was amazing. Would highly recommend!

Had never been to the outside bar here before. What a cool, laid-back experience. Good music, fire pits for a chilly night and a full-service bar. (Only minor complaint was the guy who kept them dumping lighter fluid on the fires and causing thick black smoke.) Atmosphere: 4.5 Drinks: 4 Service: 4 Value: 4

Casual & quirky bar/restaurant with great food and strong cocktails. Indoor & Outdoor seating is available and some nights there's live music in the back of the parking lot. When it get's crowded, finding a spot in their gravel parking lot can be tough. We selected a few apps which were good portions. The Pot Luck appetizer is great for sharing but it's large enough to be an entree. I've been here a few times and we'll be back for more!

This place could so easily go unnoticed and it’s a must see! Peel and eat shrimp were perfect and the seafood pasta was enough for two meals! My husband ordered the crab cakes, which had a rice topped with mango that paired so well! Outdoor seating has fans and patio doors to give the dining area a cool breeze. Much appreciated on a 90 degree day! We thought this would be a run of the mill place but it ended up being a favorite.

We have been in OBX all week and have literally eaten in every town since we've been down here. We decided to make a last stop for food before heading back home and let me tell you, this was probably the best food we've had since we've been down here. My boyfriend's BLT was easily the best he's ever had and this was my first time having Shrimp and Grits. I grew up in the mountains of western Virginia so I was raised on grits.. Words cannot describe how delicious this dish was! The service was amazing and food was even better. If we decide to come back down to Outer Banks in the future we will definitely be coming here again and will be telling friends they need to stop here if they go!

This place was a pleasant surprise for us. The Pimento Cheese app was delicious. The Ribeye was fantastic, perfectly cooked, as was the Duck, which we loved. The flounder special was also excellent and even the ceasar salad was great. My only complaint is no kids menu. I have to imagine they hear this often. We figured something out for the kids but some options for kids would have been nice. The food was excellent, though, I highly recommend.

Great place and great food. Gone here both times the past 2 years coming to OBX. Elaine was our server both times and she was great. Even with how packed it was she got our drinks on time and food was quick, was prompt on refills for drinks and bread.
