Wow! I was NOT expecting such a lovely breakfast venue with fantastic menu, service, and views. No idea what it’s like during busy season, but I imagine tough to get a table. But during September, our party of four easily got a table at 8:39 on a Sunday. All meals were beautifully presented and beautiful. We are locals and will definitely be back!

The caprese salad ended up with pesto instead of fresh basil, but it was still very tasty. Liz(?) Did fantastic handling the non-reservation tables like ours for the off season. Great food, great service

We enjoyed the ceviche appetizer followed by scallops and pork chops. Good food on the high-priced range. Just across our room in Sanderling resort! Prompt and courteous staff compliment the setting. There is ample parking. Recommended when visiting Duck-Corolla area.

We had an 11 top with 3 kids. We were seated in the upstairs dining area, by ourselves. Staff was very accommodating for the 2,4, and 6 year old. Food was a little pricy, but good. I ordered the daily catch, mahi mahi on a bed of large couscous and broccolini. I also ordered a side of Yukon gold potatoes with the thyme rosemary gravy on the side. (Special request) my fiance ordered the Smoked Chicken & Dumpling , Chicken Thigh | Dumplings | Vidalia Onion | English Peas | Sweet Corn | Thyme Velouté | Asiago Toast | Sauteed Brussels Sprouts with Onion & Honey. Maybe a little over priced, but if you want a nice dinner in a quaint historical building, this is your place.

If you're staying in Duck, make sure to plan a morning to go to Lifesaving Station! They've done an excellent job with the ocean decor and historical items. Fantastic menu and food!

WOW, we've had an incredible meal here. The food is very delicious and we would come back here in an instant. The food is comforting, flavourful but not heavy, greasy or salty. Absolutely recommend trying the Fried chicken, calamari and the scallops, but I'm sure the rest of the food is just as delicious. Bon appetit!

Food was great, the pictures & history awesome our service however was lacking. To our server: If you have a medium-sized party of 8, and everyone is the group of looking around for you, don't hide!! Everyone around us that arrive 30 minutes after us were eating & had their drinks refilled, we sat with mostly empty drinks & empty plates with no explanation? Make one up "I forgot to put in your order", "I dropped your plates" "the kitchen messed up"

I took my wife and daughter here for lunch after arriving in the Outer Banks. Probably the best service we've ever experienced. The waitress was extremely attentive and fast, not to mention unbelievably polite! The food was amazing and the atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. I highly recommend this restaurant, we're here for two weeks so we'll definitely be going back!

I was very satisfied with that place, everything tasted amazing And was ready to give 5 stars, but our last 2 brekfasts they kept changing the dishes. For example, I had bluberry/ rocotta pankakes 2 days before And they were amazing! So i reordered and the second time they served just regular pancakes and put some bluberries compote and ricotta on top of pancakes? Which made complitely different dish! It was not good at all! When i asked why i got something competely different they acted as they have no idea what I’m talking about. I dont understand why The person who prepares gets lazy sometimes (maybe becuase we came For breakfast closer to the end?) The stuff was very nice. But its a shame becuase it could have been Great if they would stick to their food options.

2017-06-08 the waitress (Sabrina) was very nice and the breakfast was amazing! The sausage, grits, sunny side eggs, poached eggs, pancakes, bacon, wheat toast, biscuits, butter etc... tasted really good! 2017-06-06 the waitress (Monica) and dinner was amazing! I asked the waitress for any recommendations for the entree, she recommended the special, which was red snapper, coconut rice (which tasted like an Asian curry dish), vegetables (beans and longest cut mushrooms I ever had), some type of glaze, and something else at the bottom and it had lobster meat on 2 sticks; the entree was amazing, tasted really good! My wife had the steak and fries, she said the fries were cooked to perfection. The Caesar salad, bread and butter were all amazing as well! The Caesar salad had a large-sized crouton that looked like the same size as bread and you would have to eat/bite it like you were eating bread/toast (but you couldn't cut it with a knife, because it was too hard). I also had the flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and that was amazing as well. This restaurant is on the resort and I definitely recommend this restaurant. Even though we were encouraged to make a reservation, there were many other tables between 6:15pm and 7pm, while we were there on a Tuesday night.

Updated Review: we returned a year later for breakfast and it is still just as good. I ordered the same thing I did last year except that I tried their biscuits. They are also very good. I have only been here for breakfast and they do that well. There is a small menu, however, they accommodate off the menu requests. The best part of the breakfast is the hashbrowns which are usually very flavorful. Today they were bland which is the reason I couldn’t give five stars, the food was just slightly off today. This is certainly a place that cooks with quality ingredients and the staff is very good. I returned here for dinner which was exceptional. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes and broccolini. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. I also ordered a drink which was well done. I will certainly return here again!

After my first visit to the LSS a year ago I wasn't at all impressed and even less sure on what to expect upon returning this year. Long story short, this establishment has gotten its act together and become a contender among many other very popular establishments along duck rd. I was not expecting such an orderly and organized effort in delivering such a high level of customer service, after much observation and interaction with the staff, it was quite clear who was responsible for this organized 5 star effort being put forth, a manager by the name of Tasia. Not only was she clearly orchestrating a highly organized operation, she was following up with each table throughout the evening and making adjustments along the way to provide the ideal evening out. You don't need a steak knife for the filet Mignon here, the butter knife will more than suffice in cutting through this exceptionally prepared entree, highly impressive! And what better to go with it but a perfectly prepared serving a mashed potatoes and gravy, let's also not forget the expertly prepared broccolini! Seriously, at this point there is not a better steak in the area, so don't waste your time looking elsewhere. They have stepped up their game here, it's well organized and the staff clearly strive to provide a 5 star experience and my recommendation to Sanderling would be to hold onto Tasia, she is clearly running a tight ship! Another visit to come in the future. Cheers!

Great place for a little more upscale dining experience. Breakfast is always good and usually (at least when I've been there) no wait time.
