I can't say enough great things about this place. I grew up in this small town and have been coming to garcias for as long as I can remember. Always great people here, it always feels like family when you walk into the doors.
If you haven't been here.. you should. This place makes Eagle River a great place to live and I'm happy to call them family �
Delicious as always. Me and my family have been coming here for years even when they had their Anchorage location and I get the Seafood Fundido every single time and it is just as bomb as I remember it every single time and their chips and salsa are just delicious. The staff is always very friendly and attentive and it is always worth it to us to drive all the way out from the Valley just to eat there.
I love, love, love everything about Garcias! The food is consistent and always delicious. I loved that they had live music on the night we had my nephew's birthday party. Will Johnson is a great musician and all my family enjoyed his set!! The staff is always on point and very considerate. You can't tell me they're not all doing the best they can. People who have been there are loyal, hard workers who I will continue to appreciate for the next 25 years!!!! Thank you.

Had an early "birthday" dinner with my husband. Service was outstanding, food was excellent and margaritas are the best in Eagle River. Thank you Joel and all of the staff!
Love this place! The employees are so nice and customer service is always topnotch! And the food is so much better than anywhere else!!
I work here and love to work here:) Gets a little crazy at times and that's a good thing! Today I noticed that most of the tables I got today have become my friends over the 5 years I've been here. The staff I work with are my friends and feel more like family. I'm so lucky to have a good group of people to work with that not only encourage me at work but in my own life outside of work. I feel like the customers see that we love working here as well. My favorite thing on the menu is the combo fajita tacos or the bacon cheeseburger! Yep we are a Mexican restaurant but we have awesome hamburgers! And my favorite alcohol drink is the El Matador.

Outstanding service even though it was chaotic with the Bear Paw Festival going on, and the food was amazing (and fast).

My Friday night hangout. Love this place-the Mucho Grande is the best.

Visited this place 15 years ago on our first trip to Alaska - service, food and atmosphere still just as good - and the margaritas are excellent!

When you know the staff and many know your name, what you eat, and the amount of salsa you need - you have a great place to eat!
Great food & drinks, enjoyed the live band, friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.
Well the service is great!! The food is fantastic!! But... The restrooms are disgusting!! They need to be gutted and redone. They smell and the floors have had standing water puddles. Gross!!!

Came From Arizona in 1996 my Husband was born and raised in Alaska. We live on Sara Lake witch is behind Big Lake we often make the trip to Eagle River Just to eat at Your restaurant food is always Good so is the service. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Date Night, going to Airport coming Back from Airport it's where we take visiting Family & Friends. Big change from Arizona for me so when I saw Garcias it was like ok I can live here. Thank you for your service all these years and the years to come.

Mini chimis are a staple and good overall. A safe bet is to go with the fajitas. As far as Mexican food goes, coming from a person who lived very close to the Mexican border, the Mexican food here isn’t comparable. I’d say overall is a 5 out of 10 for the Mexican food specifically.
However, they make up for it with their fun atmosphere! They normally have bands play, and everyone is having fun and some people even get up and dance!
There’s homemade tequila is fantastic! however, for a single shot is extremely expensive, sadly!
However, on the same token, the house margarita comes in a tall glass and isn’t the best. However, if you do some drink menu exploring and ask for a large bowl glass they will give it to you. We have been here over a dozen times, and in general, our service has always been good.
With all these factors considered, I would give this place a four out of five for a Mexican place in Alaska because of what I have mentioned so far, and I have to be realistic,
this is pretty much as far away from the southern border as I can get 😂
So bring your friends, enjoy the music, get up out of your chair, and have fun dancing the night away!
One of the best restaurants in eagle river. All of the staff are friendly and super helpful and the general atmosphere is warm and welcoming. There is live music sometimes and they provide a beer truck at events around town. The food is good but not the world's best. But what it lacks in flavor is made up in quick turnaround and large quantities for a reasonable price. Definitely an eagle river staple!!

Second time eating here with my wife. My ENCHILADA TRIO with beef, chicken and cheese Enchaladas were delicious. Plenty of food on the plate and comes with rice and beans. They have sweet teas well.
This is the most welcoming place in Eagle River, AK! Friendly faces, authentic food, warm atmosphere ... IM A FAN!!
I always have a great meal and great service whenever I come here. Their vegetable fajitas are so good! The veggies it comes with are various, good texture (not too crunchy/not too soft), and plentiful. It includes warmed tortillas, rice, beans, guac, sour cream, and pico. Pretty sure the black beans are free of animal products (since they offer refried beans with the meat dishes, and refried beans usually has lard), I am not sure if the rice has chicken stock in it or not, but I will think to ask next time I'm there and update here. Speaking of their rice and beans, those are just okay for me. Not bad at all, but more on the bland/dry side for me. That being said, every entree I've had has been fantastic and if I had to choose I'd rather the entree be stellar than the sides. I also have included a photo of their shrimp tacos which were delicious! Included plenty of shrimp. Last time I went their service was super fast on a busy Friday night. Their margaritas are delicious too.

Second time here and the food is great again. The music got loud when they switched over to live music but that is to be expected. Service was great at the start of the meal bit we had to wave people down for refills, to go boxes, and our check. We ended up waiting about 15 min for them once we were ready to go.
We had a family birthday party. Service was most excellent offering lo carb faire and yummy chips salsa and fried ice cream. Social distancing and masks observed for those who participate with sign in at door. Highly recommend for gatherings and great food. Lots of good memories there.
Recently relocated to AK and Garcia’s was our first stop! Mama was craving a Margarita after a nine day drive! And Garcia’s hit the spot! My 5 sometimes picky kids were there with us and all were pleased with the menu bc there were burgers on the menu! Great service! Great food!
One of the few places that stuck around in Eagle River. Always great food and service here, staff are always plesent to talk to along with the food is great, some of the meals are large so be ready to take some food home for latter.
Garcia’s in Eagle River (AK) is reliably great in food quality, staff, libations and atmosphere. You don’t get much better than their enchilada meal, sizzling fajitas, and the fresh cheeses, salsas, with their homemade chips rounding out the journey through Deliciousville. Lemonade with a carafe; green onions and cold beers; great music. Highly recommended.
Liveliest Mexican restaurant in the Anchorage bowl. The food...not the best, but okay. Don't listen to people who say the queso is amazing. It's okay, but disappointing, especially if your from Texas! The kids meals are amazing though! Do recommend!
