Reasonable wait, friendly service, nice clean atmosphere. Jake cheeseburger was delicious with most any toppings you'd want. Fries were a bit average. Shamrock shake was really good and flavorful, too.

Food Hound: Tidbits - Jake's Wayback Burgers. Hey all you Food Hounds out there, it's your main man from the Wasteland... Brimstone (Etan says Hi!), ready to bring you another AMAZING Food Hound Tidbit! Today we hit up Jake's Wayback Burgers in East Meadow, New York and took a ride on the tasty train way back to the days where life was a heck of a lot simpler; but the food was still to die for!

Etan and I headed out to this new location which opened about six months ago. The moment we stepped foot through the doors; we were greeted with smiles and a grand, "Welcome to Wayback Burgers" from behind the counter. The people were incredibly inviting and ready to serve up some killer eats! It is truly a wonderful experience when the staff actually takes pride in what they do and I absolutely commend them for having such fantastic attitudes. Now to the food...

The menu is not overly extensive; but there is a lot to choose from in terms of Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken (sorry Lush), Specialty Sandwiches and Sides. I decided to start with the Burger of the Month which was entitled, "The Cheeesy". Considering the toppings are endless... I admittedly went to town with Ketchup, Lettuce, Tomato, Raw Onions, Mayo and the topping of ALL toppings... BACON! The Cheeesy is a double patty Burger with Mmm... CHEESE meant to write home about, as you can literally taste the freshness in each ingredient. The meat at Jake's is NEVER frozen and the cooking process is simple and uses little seasoning to enhance to natural cooked flavoring of the Burger. Etan had similar toppings on what is called the "Jake Burger" which is also a double patty; however with a standard bun as opposed to the bread on the Cheeesy. Both the Burgers were outstanding and were extremely flavorful. You may be thinking, what could possibly be better than a solid tasting Burger right? A kick a$$ Burger with a real Hand-Dipped Milkshake on the side!!! Oh yeah, they've got them here and a lot to choose from too! We tried their special for this month, the Irish Creme Milk Shake as well as the Black & White and for the WIN -- the Strawberry Banana! All three of the shakes were intense (the Irish Creme was a reaaally close second), but the well-blended Strawberry Banana was superb.

We then got into some of the other delicious goodness that Wayback had to offer including the Chili Cheese Fries, Homestyle Chili, Onion Rings, Home Made Chips (BBQ & Regular) and their ALL BEEF Hot Dog. Let's start by saying that the Chili was reminiscent of the days I spent back in Coney Island grabbing a Nathan's Frank and smothering it with their Chili... It literally brought me back which is a good thing! That being said; we pretty much slathered the chili all over everything and also ate it Ala' carte... Mmmm... Chili Cheese Fries that were still crispy when served and real cheese melted on top (not from a can) equals a GREAT side! The beer battered Onion Rings were a tremendous WIN (I don't know why so many places shy away from good old fashioned Rings). The BBQ Chips were spectacular, I wasn't a fan of the plain Chips at first; but after adding a little salt we were spot on. Last but not least, the Hot Dog was a bit small for my taste - however packed with flavor without the aftertaste.

We would absolutely come back here again and certainly advise you to stop in while your in town. All ages can come and enjoy the great tastes of Jake's Wayback Burgers... Etan and I can't wait to come back and bring Luscious next time! Make sure to tell them that the Food Hounds sent you!

Good flavors and good value. Good burgers - juicy, fresh and lots of different toppings to choose. We also tried the onion rings (crunchy and delish) and the potato chips (fresh, good but needed a little more salt). Concept is similar to 5 Guys but a little bit less expensive. Also, their menu had a wide variety of shakes and sides available which we will return to try again. Staff was very friendly and the place was clean and pleasant.

The menu has been tweaked a bit, but the basics are still the same. Hamburgers are the mainstay, but you can also get a hot dog, a chicken sandwich or even a veggie burger. There are even salads on the menu. . .

The only time my family wants way back is via delivery and I hate getting a quality burger that way, the whole meal usually arrives warm and soggy. Delivery is good for fast food not a better burger. The burger was fresh , hot, good flavor and tender, the fries were very crispy and plentiful. The dining room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Good meal if you do it right, I’m dragging my family out of the house next time they want Wayback.

The burger is deliciously distinct with a more fun variety of snacks. I love fried pickles and they arent the most widely available snack.

A good burger, and the fries were outstanding! In less than five minutes, I entered, placed my order, and left with it. Who doesn't enjoy a delicious, fatty burger once in a while? The burger was oily and came with onions and pickles. With their crunchy surface and mushy inside, the fries may have been my favorite dish.

Today, for lunch my coworker and I were heading down Hempstead tpk and decided to try out Wayback Burger. This place delivered us a fantastic product. I went with the cheeesey which is a double cheese burger with upside down bun and i also ordered totchos which is tater tots with pulled pork and other fixings. My friend went with the classic combo. These burgers were absolutely delicious. They were juicy, cheesy, flavorful and were gone in about 1 minute. We were both very satisfied with our burgers. He rated his a 8.1 and I gave mine a 8.5. I would drive 10 minutes out of the way for a burger like this. The totchos were pretty good but I don't know if I would order them again. After the burgers i was still craving something so i ordered a vanilla shake. It was the perfect way to finish off a burger that juicy. I would be remiss if i didn't mention the cashier seemed cool and was very nice to both of us. That guy belongs in the service industry because he was certainly a people's person. All in all I'm giving that experience 5 stars and would certainly recommend this place to a friend or feed it to my family... Oh and just so you know they take samsung/apple pay and the bathrooms were in order and clean.

If you want a great, big, mouth watering burger just oozing with cheese and filled with the toppings of your choices, most at no extra charge, what are you waiting for? THIS is the place to go! And at reasonable prices, too! I went there one week ago and when I think about it, my mouth literally starts to water again and I can't wait to go back to Wayback!

Tried both impossible and garden burger. Later is my favorite. You can customize the toppings to your taste. Which I like the idea rather going with a standard menu. Fries are good too.

Awesome burgers at a reasonable price! Double burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and fried onions is only $7.59. Very tasty, as it seems they use the smash and scrape technique. Since burgers are made to order, they can take a while during peak times, so I suggest to order before going there.

Closest burgers to shake shack. Tastes fresh. They have tons of options to add to their sandwiches and burgers. Their sauces are also very good. The chicken fingers are definately worth it also.
