Always a good experience. Clean, neat, well lit, handicap accessible, nice good ol' fashioned diner menu and very satisfying portions of enjoyable food. I can imagine other's are satisfied as well to be as busy as they were. The waitress greeted us with a gentle smile and was very polite as she showed us to our seats. Was pleasantly patient & accommodating taking the order of my senior dinner companion whom was hard of hearing. The senior had made some special meal requests which were taken care of perfectly. Being in the larger area located near the rear entrance was a good choice for us for accessibility and ease of service. Satisfying experience to be revisited soon.

Finally got to try this place out. Cozy atmosphere and the food was pretty good, fried chicken nice and crispy, dark meat, the mashed potatoes are lumpy if you like them like that (as do I), only issue was the food took a little longer than expected however we did order a good amount and I believe it was the one server and only a cook maybe two.

A nice small local place, I had a great fried pork breakfast. The service was friendly, food prepared quickly, and it had that home town feel which I enjoy. I will be delighted to return!

Had lunch here with the East Syracuse Kiwanis. Had the turkey with gravy, stuffing, broccoli and cranberry. It was good and filling! :)

I just had breakfast there. It was my first time here and it was a very pleasant experience. The food was great. The service was great. The fellow diners there were very friendly and pleasant. I had a few conversations with the other diners there, as I sat at the counter and found the whole experience great. I will definitely be back and I have already recommended this place to several people.

Casual with great food. If you're looking for "upscale" then this is not the place. But if you're looking for delicious home style cooking at reasonable prices, this is it. I had a burger and I'm comfortable saying it was one of the best I've had in recent years. Staff is friendly. Will definitely be back multiple times!

My husband and I are in Syracuse for the weekend and stopped here for dinner. The diner is super cute and has such a warm feel! I had the Friday night haddock dinner which was amazing and my husband had the hot beef sandwich. I swear he ate the entire meal in under 10 min! I’m so happy we found this little gem.

Just stopped in for a quick bite while doing some laundry, food was quick, hot, and delicious! (I got the prime rib sandwich). Waitress was awesome, polite, and on the ball. Prices are very good and portion size was more than enough! Even got a free sample of their Kentucky breaded wings which was also delicious! Will definitely be back! Thanks

We were looking for a place to get breakfast, and boy, did we find it! There is a sign out front, but I would have thought it was part of the bar next door, had we not looked up the information on line. Plenty of parking in the back, where there is a back entrance. Quickly greeted with a hello, as we chose our table. There are more seats up front, as well as in back. We each ordered something a little different. One ordered just eggs and Italian toast with chocolate milk. The next ordered three eggs, bacon, home fries, and corned beef hash with Italian toast. I was the last to order and went with a three egg omlet with the works of peppers, sausage, and onions (it usually be has potatoes, but I opted to drop that one) and my choice of cheese- Swiss. Two of us got coffee and glad we did 'cause it was so good. The other two are all their food, but mine was so big I ate only 1/3, the rest we took home. Great diner, wonderful staff, fast service, and delicious food... We will be back!

Love Al's! The fish on Thursday night ( ssshhhhh...it's a secret😉) and Friday is fresh, flaky and delicious! I get it with coleslaw and homemade mac and cheese, yum! Had breakfast there last weekend, the corned beef hash/cheese omelet- so good! Homefries with sauteed onions and rye toast, with hot, fresh coffee- made my day! Not fancy, just good

Their service is great I’ve only had maybe two sassy people say something not completely OK being there multiple times but me and my boyfriend never really seem to be disappointed with the food. There was only one time when the steak was overcooked and then when he asked for another one it came back a horrible cut and it was super fatty. Out of the 100 times almost that him and I have ate there other than that we have never been disappointed I would definitely suggest it is one of the best little diners in town.

Well if a place is bad I'll mark it bad but this place is outstanding. 5 stars isn't enough. The wife had their turkey special and I their turkey sandwich special on Thursday afternoon. It was filling and around $ 20.00. This place is the best kept secret. It's a little hard to find with the sign on the corner and Al in really small letters so look for Village Diner. Also it's located in back and you have to use the side door at the bottom of the ramp so don't use the front because it will take you into a bar. Nice and cozy with quick and friendly staff. Hope to get back there again really soon.

The staff is very sweet and attentive. My mother got the feta spinach omelet w/ home fries. I got a simple but delish egg bagel sandwich w/ cheese. 5 stars! Definitely a new favorite. We will return!

Well it depends on what you are looking for in diner food and if it's a good tasting meal at a great price you have found your diner!! His sloppy joe's are delicious as well as his burgers. On Thursdays he serves a turkey dinner that is delicious and ample servings. I can honestly say I have not had a bad meal there and it is truly homemade.
