I am not kidding here when I say I've eaten Japanese food from here to Tokyo. (yes, I'm bragging a little haha). This place ranks up there with the sushi places in Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo in my book. Great food! When they say hibachi they unfortunately don't do the whole thing where they cook it in front of you but that doesn't matter once you get your meal. Don't sleep on this place just because it's tucked onto a route 33 strip mall. Definitely give this place a try because the food, atmosphere, and service are top notch!
Had an excellent time with my mom and sister here for lunch. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, it gave off a very stylish, modern vibe for a Japanese restaurant. Of course, a great restaurant wouldn't be complete without delicious food, and they delivered in spades. Their Lava Roll is one of the best rolls I've had in a very long time, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys some kick to their sushi. Overall, a wonderful experience and I'll definitely be coming back for more.
Don't walk...run to this fabulous Japanese Restaurant! I have been a fan of sushi since I was very young. Tsubaki is by far the best! From the friendly staff, to the presentation, to the fresh sushi... what a great neighborhood find!

We live 2 minutes away and the family and I tried this restaurant for lunch yesterday. Nice low key ambiance. The young lady serving was very friendly and helpful. The food: We tried some appetizers and various rolls. The gyoza (dumplings) was excellent. The spring rolls were delicious. The Devil roll (soft shell crab) was one of the best rolls I ever had. The other rolls were equally as good.
The kids and my wife enjoyed the lunch as well.

Awesome new place! Sushi was fantastic, service was very friendly and the interior is brand new and just beautiful. By far the best sushi I've had in central NJ.

Yesterday my brother, my daughter and I had lunch at Tsubaki. It wasnt our 1st time there. We enjoy sitting at the bar area where the sushi is made. The staff is attentive and kind. We had about 6/7 diffent rolls. Johnny roll, snowy roll, midori roll (my daughter fav!) and a few others. We love the tuna tataki appetizer....so delicious! The salmon skin salad is great as well.
My daughter and I have also enjoyed the bento box for dinner on a separate occasion.
The restaurant is in a good location, nice decor and pleasant staff.
We will be back soon. Im very interested in trying the Sunday brunch.
This was my second time eating here and again I was not disappointed. The sushi is so fresh and delicious. I can go on and on about this place but I think that you should come and check it out for yourselves. You will love it!!
Just enjoyed a delicious meal with a large group of adults including 2 young kids here tonight. We did not get to make a reservation and the staff was very accommodating of our last minute large group. The servers and manager were so kind and helpful with the two kids. We were given complimentary appetizers, the food arrived quickly and was fresh and very good! My husband and I enjoyed many different sushi rolls and they were all delicious. They also handled splitting our check smoothly and quickly, which was awesome and greatly appreciated. (My only suggestion would be to install a baby changing table in the bathrooms.) We look forward to the chance to return soon!

This was only the second time I've been here in 3 years but I will make this a more regular stop for sushi, as it has been delicious both times I've visited. On the way home from a 7 hour road trip, we walked in 30 minutes before closing time and had the most delicious meal. I highly recommend the Seafood Roll, definitely my new favorite Service is quick and friendly. Will definitely try some of the lunch specials very soon.

Came out here with friends for the first time. After trying couple of Sushi places near by, i think this place got real good food. But boy customer service absolutely did not exist with our server. She was angry and seemed to be unpleasant person. The other girl was wayy better. Otherwise great place and good food!
Good and solid Japanese food.
The waitress really works with you to get the dish you want. It's not bad. The shrimp tempura and dumplings are great. The salmon is a low grade cut, all dried out and not very tasty. I imagine they rely on teriyaki sauce to revive it. California rolls are meh. 3 stars for the food, additional star for the waitress. Tempura is probably your best bet here.
