Pros
1.Top notch food far and above diner fare! All freshly made!
2.very handicapped friendly. I am handicapped and this restaurant goes above and beyond for handicapped customers
3.It is open 24 hours. We found it using Google because it is 24 hours and there was a thunder storm in NYC and it was passing by and over by 3 am so we got to the diner at 2 am.
Cons
1.I am having surgery early in the morning and might have to cancel because most of the employees were sick and not just the sniffles. They were blowing their noses and sneezing on the food. This is a life saving surgery and they literally put my life at risk by being so sick!
I am not blaming them. It is the owners fault for not making them stay home they obviously don't want to lose their jobs.
The owner was there barking orders and ignored us when we were looking for help.
2.It is terribly mismanaged. Our server was pretty funny. We tried explaining to him why we have to be gluten free it is because of illness he was like whatever. We laughed but really its unprofessional. Every aspect seemed to be mismanaged.
The food is 5 stars but the uncleanliness and bad treatment of the employees and customers makes me give it 4.
I had a good breakfast. Simple egg dish. Hard to mess it up. The gravy for the biscuits was not great but everything was good and solid. Good service.
Best spaniel optima and mozta ball soup in the area. Actually they have amazing soup that you can take home with you in containers. But I get that combo every time and it never fails to disappoint.
This has forever been my favorite diner I've been to. The menu may have the basic stuff of all diners, but you never have an endless wait even when they're crazy busy, service is great and the food is always satisfying no matter what. I know I will never be disappointed when I need a good meal!
This Diner is anything but standard! The food quality is way better then the typical diner standard! The portions are huge always more then enough! The prices are very affordable especially for the portion size and what u get! All lunch specials an dinners include beverage soup salad and desert! This place is impeccably clean, and modern. The staff is very friendly and welcoming! Eager to please! All baked goods are made from Scratch fresh daily onsite! Home cookin at its best with awsome saute's! Forget little Italy! The best NY style cheesecakes
A better diner than others in area. Before I clicked "Like" I noticed the review by someone in NY back in 2009...well I was just at the Edison Diner last week... along with a few other diners in the area... and this was by far the better one...
Fairly standard, a bit pricey. This is a pretty standard diner, though a bit pricier than it should be. The food is decent. The staff is varied, generally good, sometimes a lot less so. The parking lot is a semi-poorly laid out.
Pretty standard diner fare, in a nice clean restaurant, with quick service. I mean the food came out super fast, probably within less than 10 minutes of ordering. The menu is huge, with photos of nearly every item, it's a bit overwhelming. The spinach and feta omelet wasn't bad, and the home fries nice and crispy on the edges. Great place to soak up some booze, or nurse a hangover.
Really enjoyed our first visit to Edison Diner. We were a group of 4. 3 of us got Lunch, 1 got Breakfast. Everything was delicious. I have one minor complaint about the French Onion Soup, though. It definitely needed more salt, as it tasted a bit bland. The service was great, food came out at a very reasonable pace. Beware of the menu, it's a LOT to look at!
We were looking for a late night spot to eat on Rt 1. Most places had closed around 10 or stopped serving. We lucked out here. It was great. Prepare to eat a lot of food if you order an entree.
I had the pork chops! Great! The coffee was also great for the ride home. Try it out and enjoy. Also side note, look at that bread basket... So good! Hope you enjoy.
Finally got the chance to dine in recently, after my husband suggested it for lunch after an early movie. He used to come all the time during his college days, and always raves about how much food you get for the price and quality. He’s not wrong. Last time, I had ordered a salad (who does that at a diner?). This time, I decided to get something good. I went with the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. This is grilled chicken, ham, and Swiss on a panini. The chicken was perfectly cooked. It looks like it could be dry since it’s so thin, but it wasn’t at all. The fries it came with taste better than they look. The menu did say it comes with curly fries so I was a bit disappointed when regular fries came out. I assumed they ran out or just didn’t serve them anymore so I didn’t ask, but then I saw another table have a sammie served with curly fries. Lesson of the story - always ask for the curly fries. The dish also comes with a pretty hefty portion of cole slaw, which was a nice addition to the meal to help negate some of the greasiness. It came with a pickle too, but it was just meh. My husband had the patty melt, which also came with fries and cole slaw, and a pickle. While the patty was cooked to a medium rare as requested, it was just too greasy overall. The bottom bread was soaked with oil. We both agreed it probably wasn’t something we’d order again. We had leftovers for lunch the next day, and my sandwich reheated very well.
Will definitely come back and try some of the other paninis!
We have been there 2 times in the past 2 weeks and everything was really good. Clean, friendly place. Wait time wasn't very long at all and service was also good as well. The food is well cooked and tasty, its also not very costly at all.
Fantastic service and fantastic food. Our plans for a family celebration were changed and we ended up celebrating with friends in the area of Elixir.
Great food, excellent service! 🤤
And the portions were big 😊 It was our first time to eat there and we will surely be back. 👍🏻👍🏻
One of my favorite places in central NJ. Menu is huge with a ton of options. Generally very accommodating with substitutions and other meal customization. Lobster and seafood bisque are great when available. Also breakfast all day is a huge plus since their whole breakfast menu is delicious. Used to be open 24 hours but stopped that since the pandemic however they are still open relatively late
