Absolutely delicious. Fantastic service from Katie M. The tomato soup is creamy and tasty. The meatloaf was perfectly done with a hint of its bacon wrapping. Great experience. Will definitely be back.
My mom, daughter and I went for our September birthday celebration tonight. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable.
We started with the artichoke dip appetizer. It came with a salsa, sour cream, and chips. It was very tasty and the perfect amount for an appetizer.
My mom and I both got pizzas, a margarita pizza and a pepperoni pizza. Single serving size was perfect. They both were very good.
My daughter got the wedge salad and black bean chili. The salad was tasty but the chili left something to be desired. It was rather bland only tasting like plain black beans. She was rather disappointed. She ended up sharing some of our pizza.
We then had dessert to celebrate our birthdays. Creme Brûlée and an ice cream brownie dessert. Those did not disappoint. We all left happy and full.
Cafe 501 is a great addition to the Edmond restaurant scene and a place we will frequent for our girl only evenings.
Food was really good. Nice place for family & friends to meet. Service was very good & friendly. They have a drink menu & bakery. I started with the 501 salad which was very good. They also serve you bread with balsamic olive oil for dipping. Be aware that the menu does change; so something you've had in the past may not be on the menu. It's seasonal. They also offer gluten free menu. I had the fish & chips which I loved & a friend had shrimp & grits which she said was very good. The food maybe a little pricey but well worth it for the over all experience. The portions are large & I took food home. This is definitely a favorite place for me.
The chicken salad was delicious and served on a wheat berry bread. Usually by my style, but I enjoyed it. I had the pick two and paired it with tomato basil soup. Nice little joint.
Had Sunday brunch here and it was great. We were treated with smiles and kindness throughout the whole brunch. I had the crab cake Benedict which the eggs and the crab cake was cooked perfectly. The arugula and the tomato under the muffin was okay but I felt it clashed with the hollandaise sauce. The hash browns were one of the best I have had and it went especially well with their sriracha ketchup! My wife's jimmy sandwich was very good. The egg was super fluffy. I recommend this place for brunch. Viv Nguyen
Definitely a great lunch spot in Edmond. Had so-so service and food at dinner, but nothing to complain about at lunch. The Coyote Crunch Wrap is legit. It's very hard not to order every cookie and cupcake they have displayed. Just FYI - you order at the front and then sit down during lunch hours.
I rarely get too excited about a salad, but their Cobb Salad is darn good. Friendly people who worked there and a nice looking restaurant. Somewhat like Panera, but way better.
First time to eat from 501 and
shouldn't be my last.
However, I cannot speak for
the other reviews and patrons of 501 due to the fact my order was called in and
picked-up.
The food was fairly good in
my opinion (Coyote Chicken Sandy) and was fresh, Definitely no complaints here. Funny enough, my side was the pasta salad...which I absolutely detest pasta
salad, but nonetheless I polished it off with my sandy and was still looking
for more! Well Done 501.
As for future dinner plans, I'm not a fan of eating at restaurants that suggest or require
reservations...so I will more than likely steer clear of dinner here, but would
like to try a few more dishes for lunch!
Service was a bit lacking but the food/presentation made up for it. Huevos Rancheros! Delish!
Terrific dinner tonight - a Tuesday.
We were seated immediately - at 6 pm without a reservation.
Atmosphere is elegant, service was quick, efficient, and friendly!
Dinner was fresh, delicious and served in a timely manner.
We will be back soon.
Great Food. Good food. Good service. A very well poured Scotch. The "Scotch" thing might not mean much to some people but I cannot stand getting a skimpy glass of whiskey. I order my whiskey neat and add water to taste, so whenever I am served what appears to be a shot of whiskey I am more than disappointed. 501 did not disappoint on any level. All was well and would recommend to anyone. Yum yum yum...
Awesome food!. I realized that coming for breakfast or lunch is totally different. It can get crowded of course, and there will be a line most likely, but they have menus at the front I could look at. But it's really not as difficult to navigate as some people have complained about- you really just need half a brain and the physical independence to get your own drink. And when it's busy you may have to wait a little bit to get your food, but it is amazing food- so I didn't mind! Friendly staff as well. I would definitely return!!! :)
Very good food. This meal was one of the best I have had and the staff was great. They ever made us St Louis style flash fried spinsh.
Eating From A Hole In The Wall
+4.5
Too hyped IMO but tastey & relaxing atmosphere. I really dont see what the hype is about. Maybe I set my expectations high, as we all know that is a set up for failure when we think that way...stay hungry!!
Anyways besides that, the food was exeptional, it was light mostly healthy and I felt like the atmosphere was laid back and relaxing. Overall good food if your willing to pay the extra (but worth it) for some good classic cafe food!!
Viewpoint on 501. I really am not going to complain about 501. I am not going to brag about 501. The parking is fine but if possible avoid the parking across the street. 501 as a restaurant distinguishes itself with a trending and pleasing decor, quality food and a better menu than most places. I rate it at a 7. I have never had a bad meal there over several occasions but I have never had a meal that I gushed over. I will not give the service bad marks but it definitely lacks a polished nature to it. It seems typical of student age waiters who are there to earn money by doing an adequate job at a better restuarant. They lack refined server skilled to make the meal more enjoyable, but I have never received rude or sloppy service by the staff. Upon arriving the hostess was given our reservation information and we were immediately seated at a circular table that could sat 7. They did not ask if the table was acceptable as it was far larger than needed for our party of 4, but it was the only choice they had. The greeting hostess seemed unaware that a party of 4 might wish to be seated closer for conversation sake. The host who sat us did offer what he could to bring us closer but he was in a no win situation as were we. What can I say it was Friday at 7PM in a crowded restuarant. A booth was opened but it had already been requested and reserved by another party. I respect they kept their agreement with the party, that is the way it should be. Tonight I had the Flat Iron Steak. It was cooked correctly and the sides were tasty. I enjoyed it. I did admire that our server maintained a quality service level through our complete meal. Our party left to have a dessert and drinks at another location as we wish to bring our friends to an establishment they had not been to. Otherwise we would have enjoy one of their tasty desserts. We left having enjoyed our meal and the service and look forward to returning again.
Love the desserts. Speaking as a regular, I've seen a lot of great changes in the past few months. Their dessert menu has changed and all the items are made in-house. My favorites are the lemon crinkle cookies, brownies, or creme brulee. Lunch is served cafe style, and dinner is a wait-staff service. The girls always remember my favorite tea (tropical) and have it ready when I make a to-go order!
Absolutely worth every penny!. My fiance took me out for my birthday this previous week. I had been talking about this place for the past few weeks because I drive by it every single day. We decided to look at the menu online one night, and decided it looked like a nice place. I was right!
Right when we walked in the door, the hostess greeted us with a friendly hello and took us to a table. We were quickly served with a nice little bread tray with their home-made garlic and olive oil. We got to munch on that while our drinks were being prepared. The server had a huge smile on her face the entire night and we had a lovely conversation with her. We asked about what was popular, and what was the best. She quickly pointed out 6 different things, and knew exactly where they were on the menu with even descriptions! (Now thats a few good bonus points for her! ) It was a monday night and they happened to be running their usual "Monday Night Special." This includes their special, and your choice of either a 501 salad or a caesar salad, as well as a beverage for a really good price.
My fiance chose the special, and the 501 salad. He kept saying how "amazing" it was every 2 seconds. As for me?? I decided to get the pork tenderloin that was introduced by our server. She said it was her absolute favorite. She was right again! I have never had a more delicious dish! It was served up with their broccolini (sp?) and a rice looking dish. When I asked the server, she said it was a "Pea and bacon orzo pasta." It was so different and complimented the dish so well that it was amazing! I'd probably order it by itself. I forgot to mention that I had a small cup of their tomato basil soup as a beginner...lets just say it was the best soup I've had in a while. It was served in a cute square little bowl, topped off with cheese.
We both were very pleased with not only the service, but the cozy romantic atmosphere, the delicious food, and the kind words from everybody there. The manager even came by and welcomed us for our first time, and even said a happy birthday to me!
When the dessert menu came out - there were probably 7 different things on the menu. They also have a huge dessert case up at the front when you walk at, so you can glare at all the delicious treats in the case while your eating. But the dessert menu had anywhere from bread pudding, to a apple pie, to even a creme brulee. (sp??) When I asked the server which was her favorite - she quickly responded with the bread pudding. She told me that it was covered with a burbon sauce and served with an ice cream scoop, covered in caramel. How can she possibly NOT sell that to me?? It came out and was so insanely yummy - that I could of ordered a few more just to take home and share with the family.
Definitely adding this place to one of my "FAVORITE" romantic places and we will be back! Happy Birthday to me! I had a wonderful evening and dinner with my fiance.
I've been to cafe 501 many times for brunch, lunch, and dinner and have always been extremely satisfied with both the great variety of food and the friendly service. They bake everything in house daily, from all of their breads to their awesome spread of desserts (I love the ricotta cheese cookies, chocolate mousse cake, and lemon tartlets!!). I've always been pleased with my experience and I'd recommend it to absolutely anyone!
Very nice cafe! Love the lattes and desserts! Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. What's not to like!
Always Excellent. This is one of our favorite restaurants and they consistently turn out excellent meals, whether we're there for breakfast, Sunday Brunch, or dinner. If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out on a great local restaurant.
Food was mediocre and waiter was a jerk.
Good food, cheap atmosphere. 501 has a good chef and a good concept. I really enjoyed the Argentinian steak with grilled vegetables. The interior of this new location is way boring and very cheaply assembled. The pegboard ceiling sags, particle board plywood and cheap looking tables fill the space. The natural look became a cheap look. This has been a trend with the classen curve restaurants. Filling the space of a building with nearly 30' ceilings seems to be a challenge. I got the same feeling in gastropub.
Never let me down.... I truly hope this restaurant never lets me down...Just had their pizza (Margharetta) and it is absolutely delicious...Great crust, amazing cheese and all the ingredients were fresh. Everyone in my office is having Cafe 501 for lunch today and no one is disappointed.
Incredible. This is my favorite place to eat in the great state of Oklahoma! I have ordered something different every single time I have been there and have never been dissapointed. The flavours are so unique and very comforting. Love this place!
Absolutely great tasting food. Service is great as well, easily becoming favorite breakfast joint. Recommendation: try the french toast.
Very pricey, but good. Cafe 501 has a unique flavor and combination of ingredients in their food that I haven't really found anywhere else. Their salads and sandwiches are excellent. The dinner menu is also good with items like bacon wrapped meatloaf, rosemary chicken and even a mexican dish. But the downside is portions are relatively small and very expensive. But if you don't want to eat just go in and get some fresh baked bread or pastries to take home, they are excellent!
Being Treated Indifferently Makes a Difference. Haven't been in for over a year, but since we moved into the area, thought we'd try it again. When you go in through the revolving door, immediately to the right is the counter where you will order, pay, get seated and they bring it to your table. It is a smart move on their part, as the customer gets to see the huge display case of yummy looking desserts and baked goods. I spotted a Boston Cream Pie Cupcake that I had to have. We proceeded to order the BCPC, a Veggie Pizza (no cheese and extra sauce on the side) and a Pick 2 of the 501 Salad with a Grilled Tomato and Cheese.
We waited quite a while for our food to come out (gave me plenty of time to eat my cupcake - it was really exceptional!!). When the food came, I was ready to dig in until my husband realized his pizza had cheese. He took it back up to the counter and of course, we had another 15 or so minute wait. Keep in mind my food was fine, but being mannerly, I waited until his arrived back on the table. Finally it came - no cheese, but now, no sauce on the pizza and the cold side of sauce from the first one was placed back on the plate. By the time he got his pizza (and wrong again with little/no apology) he was highly annoyed. BUT, on the positive side, the pizza was good - the crust looked awesome. The salad dressing was perfect (too much was put on the salad and several of the salad leaves were wilted and black) and the olive tapenade on the sandwich was a nice flavor surprise.
Overall, I guess we were somewhat disappointed in the service and attention to detail (as who appeared to be the manager - seemed quite oblivious to our issue and others that walked through the door. While we were waiting, we saw an irritated woman with a To-Go order come back in with her bag about 15 minutes later and was exchanged a new bag).
I really wanted to like 501 - clearly they have a strong following (it was busy the whole time we were there), but for us, being treated indifferently made a difference.
It was good. Yummy, but pricey and the staff tries to upsell too much.
Best chicken salad EVER. They have the best chicken salad I have ever had, and you can order it by the pint to take with you.
And the Coyote Chicken sandwich is yummy and spicy!
The dinner menu is fantastic. The Southern Shrimp and Cheese Grits was so delicious. And the presentation of their dishes is beautiful.
Nice experience. Took Mom here for her 70th and had the whole gang. Sherre treated us great and the food and ambience was terrific. Great menu selection and even my younger nephews found something they enjoyed.
I love 501, and would happily eat a 501 Salad everyday for the rest of my life. Yum!!
I've been eating here for years! I love it!! I have loved everything I've ever eaten there! And even though the menu has slightly changed they will still make my favorite southwest chicken pizza( not on menu ) that makes me very happy! The prices are a little high but everything is do fresh and delicious that it is worth it! Just wish the place was bigger cause it gets packed!
Brunch. My wife and I went for brunch with another couple and two kids. It was great. Everyone enjoyed their meal, the selection was nice, and the kids even found things out of the normal kids menu they liked. After the meal I got a couple desserts to-go for later in the day and they were great also.
My wife and I went back for lunch later and was less impressed. Maybe it was the items we ordered but I think most of the items on the menu were premade and refrigerated. That is not what I expect when I order a steak salad. Try it for brunch, you will not be sorry.
Great atmosphere, try the portobello mushroom sandwich for lunch! And the Pear Salad is fantastic, too!
Can't wait to go back. I've only been here once, but it was amazing. More upscale, little pricier than usual, but its well worth it. I can't wait for my husband to take me back.
Very nice place. Always have a nice time whenever I go. Tried most of the menu and most of them are great and the others are more great. Prob might want to skip on the creme brûlée thou, it was burnt every time i've gotten it
Great food. It gets a little too busy, West Edmondites are immigrating

One of the best places in the WHOLE metro area.
Great for lunch. Even better when the waitstaff is in. Great and attentive service. They make you feel welcome. After five is dinner
One of the metro's finest. Hand's down, one of the most unique and delicious food fares the OKC metro has to offer. You'll find this little gem sitting on a corner of Boulevard, just south of 2nd street in Edmond.
Amazing everything!
Great Food, nice people, and its my buddy hirst holloway's restraunt
Good place to take the family. We have been going there for years and love everything about 501
Fantastic and unique Sunday brunch! Freindly and attentive staff and management. They make you feel at home.
Well managed great food. It must be there is almost always a wait. It's worth the wait.
Good Lunch & Brunch. If you go for lunch or sunday brunch its great. If you go for dinner its to overpriced and not that great.
It's alright. I think the food is very good, maybe a little over priced. The brunch is excellent. The service there is very bad. The wait staff doesn't work with each other and you tend to wait quite a bit...even if the place isn't busy. I woudl recommend it if you are not in a hurry and are a patient person.
I don't even know where to begin--the Beef Bourguignon is 10/10, the veggies were perfect, not overly cooked and mushy, not underdone and crunchy, right in the middle.
Will definitely be back--when I called the hostess was very sweet and answered my silly questions, our server Ashley was phenomenal--her wine recommendations, the food, everything was great AND she brought me dessert with a lit candle for my birthday.
100% will be back soon probably in a couple weeks when my parents come to visit.
Thank you so much!
Everything was absolutely delicious! The staff were friendly and quick. We had the spinach and artichoke dip, Chicken cordon bleu and gnocchi.
Definitely get dessert at the end! The cake bites were perfect size.
I love the new menu. I gone a few times since the revamp and I have to admit, it was good. We last visited for the taste of Napa Valley, a wine paring with a few choice dishes. The four courses were great and the service was too. The atmosphere and decor is relaxed and the servers and hosts are professional while showing off there individual personalities. This special event was wonderful. Can't wait for the next one.
Loved the decor in the restaurant, food was even better and service exceptional. My husband and I stopped here after a day at the golf course for an early dinner. We ordered the Mediterranean bowl to share, then I had the Santa Fe chicken and my husband had the vegetable pizza to which he added chicken. My chicken was perfectly cooked and meal delicious. The pizza had the perfect crisp base and my husband loved it. Not sure of the hummus is made in-house but it was definitely one of the tastiest hummus I have had in a while. We left very happy.
Always a great meal and generally something for everyone minus the super picky eater. We usually go for brunch and this time did not disappoint.
Our first time here and we weren't disappointed. We had a few appetizers but the spinach artichoke dip was fantastic. Usually those can be heavy and salty but this was light and a perfect way to start our dinner experience. I ordered the Grilled Portabella Mushroom sandwich which had this whipped goat cheese. Outstanding. The staff was great and food was brought out quickly especially for a large group. Can't wait to return. What a great way to celebrate a friend's graduation. 👏
We visited Cafe 501 for the first time Sunday.
The wait was short with a reservation, friendly staff.
Food was good, my friends eggs were overcook buy the server fixed the issue quickly.
My meal was delicious, the huevos rancheros 🔥

This was a lunch time delight!! We ordered pick up, they had it ready timely and everything was correct. I had the Thai Bowl and added a 4oz Salmon. This was plenty of good to split for two as well, we will definitely be ordering this again.
