This spot has the best barbecue in all of east county. You can taste the difference in their smoker versus others using ovens. Recently tried the navy bean soup and had to order a pint before leaving. Amazing flavor.

Welcome to Izzy’s. Gas up the car while you get breakfast.

A Must For Breakfast. I haven't been in for lunch and dinner, but they do the best breakfast in town--I'm not just saying that. The last time I was there I had strawberry crepes which were excellent. Their prices are also very reasonable considering the quality of the meal. Forget Denny's and IHOP, those places have no personality...you can have a waaay better breakfast at Izzy's for less money.

The BEST *****. I can't get over the flavor & quality of the BBQ. and I think the quality of meat has merit. The flavor wasn't any blaze'n smokey, burn your mouth kind of taste, just a rich, not greasy, enjoyable BBQ. Had ST Louis ribs & 'them bones' and both were great. The slaw was not over seasoned, a nice mixture, a little dry the way I like it. The frozen corn on the cob is the usual. The peach & apricot individual pies are homemade, not very special, but great with ice cream. No beer/wine/booze, CC's ok.

I've had the pancakes. They are great. The "stuffed" crepes were just fresh fruit & crepes (I expected the crepes to be wrapped around a cream of some sort). The Denver omelette, I added cheddar cheese, was what it said it was. I tried my wife's breakfast potatoes, and they were ok. Overall, the food is nothing special, but dependably decent. But the atmosphere is a very local feel with pictures of older generation stars (Elvis and others), homey decor, and very friendly service. It is a very pleasant place to go with close friends and family. We'll go again, and I'll try something else on their menu to see if there is something besides the pancakes that will be my go-to order.

This place is awesome, doesn’t matter if you have breakfast or lunch it’s great. We have eaten here three times in the last two weeks and we only found it two weeks ago. What ever food you pick it will be tasty. The place has friendly staff and tasty food, couldn’t ask for anything more.

This is a diner style place with diner decor like license plates, movie and TV pictures, and road/car signs & pictures. We went for breakfast but they also have smokehouse menu for later. Good variety of menu items, large portions and reasonable prices. Food was very good and used fresh items. The zucchini muffin my son in law received was even warmed up! The staff is mostly young men who are courteous and attentative, they got a big tip. Definitely a return place on future visits.

Today was my first time here thanks to my sister. Let me first say our family always judges by Pancakes & Biscuits & gravy, well we got both and it was FREAKING AMAZING!!! Our used to be spots were Breakfast House or IHOP you'll notice I said "used to be spot" because after today its IZZY'S 💯. Biscuits were completly soft and the pancakes have such an amazing flavor that melt in your mouth. I cant wait to try the lunch menue. Our Server's were amazing as well.

Good food and service. If they are busy, service is slow. Been here a few times. Had biscuits and gravy, with added sausage. Gravy is good, but not a sausage gravy. Biscuits are light and good as well. The "added sausage at $2", is one sausage link sliced and tossed on the biscuits before the gravy is added. Has a good flavor, but very small amount.

Man oh man. This place is awesome! Pretty small interior but awesome old school decor inside. I got the biscuits and gravy and French toast and it was delicious. The customer service in here is top notch. Super inviting atmosphere. Definitely one of the best diners I’ve ever been to in my life hands down. It’s too bad I live in Chicago. Definitely make a stop here if you are in the San Diego area.

OMG I was expecting run of the mill bbq. This was THE BEST BBQ I think I have had in San Diego. I'm trying to get my hands on the recipe for the sauce. Kudos to the owner
