La Receta De Abuela - Elizabeth - Photo album

I went there today with my wife. We ordered alcapurrias. 1 of each yuca and guineo , pretty good. Also ordered morcilla and it was prepared when ordered very tasty. We also shared a bowl of asopao de pollo. Very good and loaded with meat. Next time will be to taste the empanadillas and the regular f
The place has the right idea but the food was so so. The rice and beans was cold. The chicharon de pollo was too crunchy. It looked like calamari. The carne frita was too dry as if it was "recalenta". We did have an alcapuria de yuca and it was delicious. The ambiance is nice. Outdoor seating
If you’re a Puerto Rican from the island then this is the place for you. This ain’t one of those nuyorican/americanized Puerto Rican spots. This is food straight from the motherland. The prices are good, the owner and staff are kind and welcoming. The outside area is organized, well-kept and clean,
I was craving alcapurrias; a quick search led me to this hidden treasure in Elizabeth. The yuca alcapurrias were made to order. They came out hot with a nice crispy exterior and delicious masterly fried yuca dough. They hit the spot. We also tried the empanadas. Opting for sweet over savory we trie
Sabroso! Great portion sizes. Great prices. Great staff. The hospitality makes it a great place to enjoy your meal. My family will definitely continue to eat there. The space is a bit small...but I'm sure they'll move to a bigger spot once business grows.... Thank you
You know you're eating some goooood food when you can't put your fork down! Best Rican food I've had in a while 😋. Friendly staff and great portions. My beef empanada was great and my Carnitas fritas with arroz y habichuelas was beyond tasty! Would definitely recommend and will be coming back soon.
This isn’t Puerto Rican pernil…. Not even close. The color alone tells the story. This is dry. Definitely not made by boricuas. Anyone who wants real puerto rican food, take the ride to Perth Amboy and go to Torres Cafe. Hands down the best authentic PR food anywhere in NJ.
I went here with my half Peruvian/half Puerto Rican family and we were all impressed with the delicious food this little place served! I haven't had such a good empanada in agessss 😍 and the shrimp mofongo was stellar. Totally would recommend if you are missing the tastes of the isla de encanta ❤️ l
