Great food and service. The steak and baked potato is good, but the homemade ice cream is the best!

We have been going here for several years and it has been getting worse every time we go. The food was cold, the service was the worst I have ever had here and they added 20% for it being a party of more than 8. This used to be a good place but not anymore. I am aware that most restaurants do this and I am fine with leaving my waitress a tip, I think they should get a tip based on how good the service is and not 20% added to my bill when I never saw her except when she brought my cold food and when she took my order. Like I said we eat here quite often and it was good at one point but it has gone down hill to the point that we won’t be back

Friday night my mine and my husband first time every going to this place. It wasn’t to busy, but it literally took 30 minuets to even get our drink order. By this point I was ready to go, so we decided to give it a chance and thought maybe they just got over a rush. Nope all we kept hearing was we will be with you in just a minute. Well, we finally got drinks (by this time it’s been an hour). The waitress comes over to apologize saying another waitress had to go home sick. Well 2 1/2 hours later we got our food. Beyond disappointed is an understatement. Then the bill was $54 and they said we HAD to leave a tip. I mean really I order was completely wrong, and the bus boy brought it to us. Needless to say we want ever be back and that was the worst version of shrimp and fish that I have ever seen.

Service was not good. Drink order was completely wrong. Had to continue to ask her for the same thing multiple times. Asked for tarter sauce 3 times and never got it.. Food was ok. The hush puppies were good.

Best catfish around this area. Fish is fresh and tastes great. Yummy sides like fried corn on the cob, turnip greens, baked potato and of course, hush puppies and fries. My son had the ribeye and it was juicy and delicious. The cole slaw is also great!

My dad J.V.Pool and I have been eating here for years. We have friends that go with us each week. So far no complaint. The fish and see food is not the only thing good. They have the best steak ever. My dad and mother was their first custorers. Try the one and I know you will go back. They also have the biggest burger I have ever seen.

Service and food was good but when we went to checkout the woman was being very rude. You would think that someone that was collecting close to a $100 from me would have a better attitude. My family and I will not be back.

It is kind of ironic to review this on "urban"spoon because this place is anything but urban. This was not my 1st trip to Rivers. I have always received good food and appropriately attentive service. This visit was no different. I have enjoyed everything I have tried, which has been boiled shrimp, catfish filets or fried oysters. The hushpuppies are some of the best. I find it to be worth the ride into the "kuntry".
