Geo’s tavern style pizza is by far my most favorite pizza I’ve had in Chicago. The cracker crust is crispy and decadent with enough thickness to not be drowned out with toppings and sauce. Too often the tavern style is saturated in the middle making the crispy center more of a soft texture by the time you get to the middle.
I ordered this double sausage add garlic and we’ll done. The freshness of the ingredients and perfect execution always delivers. What’s most impressive as a non Chicago native is the ability to not have any kind of issues later in the night or the next day. Sometimes too acidic pizzas sit heavy and don’t fair well with my stomach. I’ve never had an issue with any tavern style pizza in Chicago.
I couldn’t recommend Geo’s enough! Remember, bring cash and an empty belly! You’re in for a treat!
I wanted to give 5 stars. Love the history the nostalgic look and the true thin tavern style crust pizza. But looks better than it tastes sadly. Just wished it tasted better. (I've eaten at over 50 pizza places in chicago and nyc). But their prices are nice for their pizzas. Open late for take out or delivery. Cash only.
Solid place for a real Chicago pizza. If you know real Chicago pizza, it comes in a bag! That's where it's at. This is a very well known and established pizzeria and the food speaks for itself. Try it atleast. I promise Geo's will not disappoint.
You tourists can enjoy that deep dish stuff 🤣
Place has been here forever, delicious thin crust pizza! Cash only, and parking on Harlem Ave. Staff are very friendly, and prices are reasonable compared to most other places.
My favorite thin crust pizza joint in the Portage Park / Dunning area. Beats Frank's, Al's and Trattoria Poretta. Guy who takes my order always cracks a joke and makes me laugh.
New to the area, so happy to find a great Chicago style thin pizza! Really nice people working there also.. 👌🙂
I love this pizza and the customer service is always amazing thank you
Thin crust cheese is my go to order (cash only)
Best pizza place hands down! Especially their pan pizza. No wonder they've been around for 50 years.
Absolutely love it..I highly recommend this Pizza.🙂 Pizza is Great..😋
Best pizza ever. I have never seen a pizza that has sauce cheese and pepperoni all the way to the edge almost NO CRUST!! SAUCY CHEESY JUST AMAZING. WAY BETTER THEN DOMINO'S PIZZA HUT AND DEFINITELY LITTLE CAESARS VERY RECOMMEND. So good that my wife and I finished a 14" pizza by our selfs and we don't regret it 😂😂😂😂
GEO’s Thick or Thin? They only carry 🍕.
my preference is thin although who doesn’t like a thick every so often, know what I mean?
Geo’s was the first place i ordered from when i moved to this neighborhood.
Never disappoints, always on point. Their tiny bite size squares are comical and perfect. Sauce is good, tasty sausage. Great family owned business. 10/10 recommend
CASH ONLY. Lived in the area for a few years and decided to give Geo's a try. We got Geo's Delux (thin crust) and we absolutely loved it. Good cheese, sauce, and toppings. The thin crust is so perfect that the center pieces are not soggy and crack just like any end piece.
Found this place on the one bite pizza barstool sports app. El Pres and Eddie were here and it got a good review. New to portage park so I had to check it out, only 12 minutes away. If a pizza place in Chicago makes it onto One bite and is reviewed in person by Barstool, you know it's got something good. We looked at the menu, and my wife immediately said we had to order from here over anywhere else, all they do is pizza! I've been around to some great places in Chicago (Pequods, JB Alberto's, Dues, Uno's, Piece Pizza, Coalfire, Michaels, Vito & Nick's, Ranallis, Nuevo Italy, Pizza Villa, Giordano's, Lou Malnatis, Tortorices, Spacca Napoli, Jimmy's Pizza Cafe, the list goes on). This place STACKS up, and stacks up big time to the big names in Chicago pizza. Placed an order for the deluxe 16 in pizza (sausage, green pepper, mushroom, onions), it was $24. 20-25 minute pick up. While it was cash only, this is a small business. Walking up to the place, you see signs on front that say they've been there for 50 years! Walking in, it's a small front waiting area, glass partition, with an area to reach under and exchange money for pie. The back was a longer room, where they make the pies and stick them in the oven. Three person operation, and it looked like they were hiring for a driver. Woman saw me and came to help take care of my order. Done right on time, and they have a little heart shaped pan that you put your money in. Sign on the desk that says there is an ATM across the street. Ranch sold for .55 a packet. It was an awesome ma and pa local small business that I was happy to support. They were also very proud of their 50 year anniversary, and I got a free pen from them commemorating it! Free 2 liter with my purchase as well. The woman was so nice, and was very happy to receive a cash tip. Rung me up on the oldest cash register I've ever seen. That thing had to of been from the 1930s. Gave me my pizza in an old school bag instead of a box. The pizza was phenomenal. My wife is very picky and loves a cracker thin crust. This crist was thin, crispy, crackery and held the toppings firmly. Reminded me a lot of Vito and Nick's. The toppings were fresh, flavorful, the onions sliced thin, the pie sliced in tavern style tiny squares that made it easy to grab and eat. Not a single slice left over. We will be back. Superb experience, amazing pizza, great local small business pizza shop. Our new favorite place. Don't pay attention to these negative reviews focused on cash only. If you're a connoisseur of pizza, this is a MUST.
One of the best thin crust pizza around
Ordered a pan pizza last night. It was great.
Old school, no fuss, delicious pizza. A neighborhood gem!
