Wow! I love potato pancakes and was not disappointed. These were the best, let me say again, the best potato pancakes. They were a thick, crispy cake of goodness! The bacon was a thicker cut and crispy, like it should be. My husband got the Ruben sandwich, which I promptly chomped a bite out of. Another fantastic pick. It was grilled to perfection, and the corned beef just melted in your mouth. The sauerkraut complement the sandwich nicely. I wish I had room for dessert. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked good. Family-like atmosphere and great service. I highly recommend for anyone. Be aware that the time zone is Eastern, not Central. We will be going back!

30Jun23 I ordered a sandwich for takeout, and receive excellent service and assistance to the Beautiful Ludington Park to enjoy it at. I recommend looking at their gifts, coffee mugs, and wonderful things. Stay for the dining area experience! This place has a wonderful menu! Thank you everyone.

We were passing through town and had heard this was the best place in town. We cannot qualify that as it was the only place we went, and there are quite a few places to eat just on this same road. But we enjoyed our food and everything was great. We all got the sweedish sampler platter, the only lack luster item on it was the potato dumplings. The bread pudding that comes with the dinner version of the meals is excellent. I recommend the rum version, but the custard was great too.

We had a fantastic breakfast here! Such great homemade food. The pancakes, potato pancakes, muffins, and Swedish meatballs were so good. Staff was welcoming and polite. We would return without hesitation.

Ten dollars for a fried egg sandwich with cheese and bacon? Two-and-a-half dollars for a glass of cola? (Probably includes free refills, though.) That seems a bit much. However. HOWEVER. The quality of the food? Oh. My. Goodness. Fresh-baked rye bread that's the perfect blend of stout and moist? Perfect eggs? Crunchy bacon? This was easily the best fried egg sandwich I've had in a long time. On top of that, the staff were super-duper attentive and very, very friendly! I don't think I've ever felt more welcome at an eatery! The place was delightfully decorated with a bunch of cool local crafts, too, like necklaces and block signs – all of which were for sale! And, of course, the service was really speedy! I barely had to wait, at all, before I was brought my sandwich! I felt like I was at a friendly relative's house or something! I highly recommend this place. As I implied, I feel like the prices could be a little lower… but, my-oh-my, was it worth it! Lovely place, delicious food, and fantastic people! I'll definitely be going back again!

Great atmosphere I loved all the tchotchke for sale on the walls. Food was delicious but I would say a tbsp & ½ of Lingonberry jam is Criminal for three large swedish pancakes. The waitresses were zumming cuz the crowd but we're very polite. All in all it was a nice time!!

We rolled into town at lunch time on Friday. A friend who frequently travels through the UP during summer vacations recommended this restaurant. We ordered the two specials of the day - fried perch dinner and fried cod dinner. Both came with new potatoes and green beans. The fish were lightly breaded, no grease, and came with an incredibly tasty tartar sauce. Wow! The potatoes and green beans were fresh and clean tasting, just like any home cooked meal. A scrumptious lunch, for sure!

Awesome breakfast, I thought the pancakes were better than the famous place in Door County. Potato sausage had great flavor, brought me back to a childhood memory. I will come back.

A favorite, popular restaurant in the Upper Peninsula; rated one of the best in all of Michigan. Wonderful food and bakery. Favorites are Swedish pancakes, homemade soups, limpa bread, breakfasts, daily weekday specials.

We had a blast at this place! A great restaurant to try a really good -just like homemade - Swedish food. The owner greeted us at the table and recommended the dishes if the day. Everything on the menu looked so good we probably ordered too much, but didn’t regret it for a moment! Perch melted in my mouth. Lingonberry pancakes were probably made in heaven ❤️ and then bread pudding with custard for dessert. Amazing! There is also a small souvenir shop, and we also bought a few things from there to remember about our trip, and Swedish pantry restaurant of course!

This was our first trip to Escanaba and we had heard about Swedish Pantry on the PBS show, “Main Streets”. We have always loved Swedish pancakes and seek them out whenever they’re on the menu. Well, we were NOT disappointed! In fact, we think these are the best Swedish pancakes we’ve ever had! They’re soft, flavorful and served with delicious lingonberries and -get this - a little pitcher of melted butter! You can also get syrup if you like. They were so good, we came back the next morning and had them again! The server was warm and friendly as was the owner of this delightful little restaurant. The dining area is full of antiques and collectibles (most for sale) and there are souvenirs and pancake mix for sale at the front counter Oh yes, don’t pass by those stacks of monster size $2 homemade cookies on the front counter. We bought a molasses cookie on day one and bought several more on day two to tide us over on our long road trip home. Swedish pantry, we’ll be back!

Food is delicious. Atmosphere is endearing. Service is outstanding. You have got to appreciate a restaurant that has been around for 50 yrs in the same location. Please enjoy, be sure to meet Phyllis as this is her life, we get to enjoy her passion, and keep them in business for more generations to enjoy also!

Great little dinner. So many authentic Swedish delicacies! The Swedish Platter did not disappoint. The Reuben, Corn Beef, and Perch were excellent. The apple dumpling for dessert was wonderful. Don't miss the bakery for the Carrot Cake, Blueberry and Cranberry muffins. Service was excellent. See the photos.
