This ambience was amazing! They have a holiday menu for food and drinks - I had the Holiday Old Fashion. The food was very good - the prime rib was perfect, in portion and taste. The short ribs were a good portion, if you order a side vegetable - I did. The staff were dressed in old fashioned attire and Christmas Carolers went around to all the tables.
Ambience is everything! I will go back.
I have been coming to the Gris, since I was a small child, which was a long time ago. The Sunday Brunch is wonderful, (and I might add a superb value,) the regular dinning is so well prepared and a well designed menu is reflective of the Griswold Inn's history, location and charm.
The staff is most accommodating, pleasant and to be honest one of the "amenities" that make the experince unique, friendly and very satisfying.
It seems like every time I visit, I find something new, (yet old) on the walls, ceiling or in the tavern, I had not noticed before. Its like a treasure hunt.
Its been many years since I stayed in one of the Inn's rooms, but I have no reason to doubt the charm and comfort is still there.
I love going to the Gris! The food and charm that the Inn has is great, but the absolute best is listening to Ray Kanter, the piano man.
A very enjoyable place!! Atmosphere was nice
and the food was great!!!! Loved this place.
Went with girlfriends they had the potato crusted cod and I had the roast beef... excellent on both!!!!
We had a wonderful time. The Inn bent over backwards to make us comfortable during an unexpected city scheduled power outage. They offered to move us to another Inn or we could elect to stay. We stayed, came 1800 miles from Texas to stay there, wasn't going to let a power outage keep us from going.
The Inn upgraded our room and gave us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. That is the way you take care of your patrons.
The staff and food was excellent, the Township, friendly and beautiful.
We would love to return someday!
dear staff at the Griswold Inn,
we were at a wedding reception 6/9/2018. wonderful!!! food, ambiance, friendly staff. superb. thanks for making our granddaughter's day complete.
love it all.
We truly enjoyed the Inns Sunday Hunt Brunch! The food was delicious , and the ambience lovely.. Although it was during the busy Christmas season, the service was attentive, and quick! Our waitress even took the time to take a few photos for us! Thank you for a fun experience once again...
Stayed overnight ,had the Mother's Day buffet. Very good food, beautiful place. Staff was courteous and professional.
One of my favorite restaurants and such a charming place in general. The Sunday brunch is amazing and the sea shanty is something you really can’t find anywhere else. The historical atmosphere is just so cool, too. I’m excited to come back for my rehearsal dinner in October!
We absolutely love the gris. It's always a wonderful experience. The history is tested by time. Our meals are always a delicious treat. We've been dining here for years, and we're never disappointed. Thanks again for a great meal!!
Makes me feel at home. Went there with my grandparents and family two years ago for the buffet and it was amazing. Great food and great service. 10/10 5 stars 100% anything it does is perfect
fantastic ambiance friendly staff great way to end your day by listening to ray play piano in the bar
If you're into early American History, this place is a must visit. Stopped for lunch. Didn't have a reservation, so we ended up in the tap room, service was less than attentive. Limited menu for a Saturday afternoon as compared to what was on line.
Had the fish and chips and clam strips. Was good, but a little pricey. Will probably return when the Inn ramp ups their menu.
Cool place to eat and listen to live music. Especially Monday night for the Sea Shanties. Rooms are nice and clean. Straight out of the 1700's. No TV, but that didn't bother me.
