Listed as Korean, it felt more Thai or Vietnamese. Very good and creative dishes. Deep deep flavor. Being paleo, one must fall off the wagon. Noodles are sweet guilt and worth the guilt.
Simple, fresh and excellent tasting food. I ate the spicy chicken and it was very well balanced, well marinated, not oily and all round yummy
Great food! Green beans are to die for. The teriyaki chicken was great as well. Super cool & friendly owner! Very interesting fusion dishes.
Great food. Eugene doesn't have much of a food scene while Portland has one of the best in the country but when it comes to Korean food Eugene competes with Portland (Beaverton has both beat) and this restaurant is one of the main reasons why. Very good, not too Americanized, Korean food with friendly servers and the lowest prices I have ever paid for Korean food. If you like Korean food or if you just like good food, then you should eat here.
Love the Bubble Teas and the food is delicious with good sized portions.
I come here often. Great Korean food, Bi bim bop is excellent noodle bowls are well priced and filling. Beef Bulgogi is my favorite in town. I split my Korean food fetish between Ari Rang on Franklin and Noodle bowl. I'm at noodle bowl for lunch or if I'm in a hurry; Ari Rang's for dinner.
Really appreciate the awesome soup selection and you will always see Koreans in here eating the soup (must mean something). I've had some awkward service in the past but not necessarily bad, and it does kind smell like dirty towels sometimes though...Whatever, doesn't stop me from coming by when I'm cravin some bulgogi and noodles.
Ownership Changed, but.... I liked the Noodle Bowl in its initial pan-Asian incarnation - nice place to get some bulgogi and beer. Recently ownership changed - beer has been abandoned, but the selection of authentic Korean dishes has tripled. Staff is perfectly willing to act as ambassadors to the neophyte should you not know what to do with the wonderful banchan and sauces that will accompany your dish.
As happens two or three......... Times per month, my brother and I find ourselves in Eugene on business. We've found a good number of excellent eateries there, but usually like to try a new place each time. This one was truly a joy. We each ordered Spicy Chicken, he with Udon Noodles and I with Fried Rice. We split the noodles and rice to allow each of us to sample both. I could have done with less rice and more chicken, but it was all very good. Lots of places have good food. The stand-out feature of the Noodle Bowl is the servers. They were so gracious and charming. It was evident that they loved their work and appreciated their patrons. How refreshing!
Bowl of comfort. Having grown up here in Eugene, I have had the pleasure of tasting the many offerings of the restaurants that have taken up residence on this cozy corner of Willamette street. My memories range from the hunk of blue cheese that I greedily scooped up thinking was sour cream, to the various others that have come and gone. Then lands the mother ship. Joyce (of Brails) opens up Noodle Bowl, which to me is like the reunion of mother and child. A bit dramatic, but you see growing up one of my absolute favorite restaurants was a tiny diner/Korean restaurant snuggled up to the old Payless on 28th and Willamette. I was devasted when I learned that they had shut down due to recent developement. So when my noodle bowl shaped mothership landed I was ecstatic. If your unfamiliar with the Noodle bowl and their menu, something to keep in mind are their hot pots. They are divine pots of deliciousness. Hot pots steaming with meats and veggies, and a smattering of various pickled veggies and tastes. The most affordable and delicious moment away from your kitchen...beside Brails of course :)
Good terriyaki chicken noodle bowl. Good service, environment and food. Good Korean menu as well.
