I went yesterday for my birthday, and it was SO GOOD! The place was adorable, and the staff was amazing! I will definitely be back!
30-40 years ago there was a Russian Sourdough loaf (flat on top and oblong square) I have been so hopeful that it could be brought back somehow. Does anyone have information on that or the recipe or know where I can get it? I used to order 10 loaves at a time and freeze them since I live in Portland. Please help!
I really get my yum on here! Excellent. And a great place to relax with friends.
September 7th cake is best cake in the Pacific Northwest. What is great about their products is that (for the most part) they hold back on the sugar so it is not overly sweet. Then you can taste the really fine ingredients - be it chocolate, almonds, or fruit - not just sugar. This is hard to find.
I might be biased but hands down the best bakery in the state! love the chocolate chip cookies! love everything about the place!!
Been coming here for past couple of years. Always a delightful experience
This is the best place ever and also one of my most happiest times when I was working there!!
Their chocolate amaretto cake is the best I've ever had. These guys are amazing. Plus the atmosphere? Perfect.
Metropol Bakery down home goodness! True Eugene hearts! :-)
As good a bakery as you will hope to find.
Anywhere.
For many years I have adored Metropol. My kids surprised me for Mothers day, by bringing me here & they had never even been here before! I had the Breakfast Sandwich with bacon, added avocado & tomato, on a roll. My Daughter in law had the Breakfast Sandwich on Croissant. My Son has the Breakfast Sandwich on a roll. They ordered a creampuff to share & I ordered a scone, the Marionberry one. They ordered Chocolate Mint Decafs, I ordered a Decaf with cream & Sugar. We sat out on the peaceful patio. Our food was beyond delectable. Our Sandwiches felt like they weighed 5 lbs each. The cream puff was as large as 2 hands & the marionberry scone was excellent. The kid's Chocolate Mint Decafs, made me wish I would have ordered one too. I can't think of a more memorable & dreamy place to have had my Mothers day brunch! Fresh food made perfectly, beverages hot, sweet & frothy, desserts fit for royalty! I was a Queen loving her food & drink! Now I am going back to get a Chocolate Mint Decaf & try a savory Croissant.
Good breads, excellent croissants, excellent carrot cake (the only one I've ever really liked, but a bit more dense than most). If you want a ham and cheese croissant, either order ahead or call it in for pick up the day before. Otherwise they are gone! I always order ahead for everything.
Long a venerable name in Eugene Oregon, Metropol Bakery delivers on presenting a variety of baked items which are exquisite on the taste buds. The staff is extremely friendly and maintains what has become a name brand in this area for a reason. The pies are delectable and the seasonal recipes cheerful, colorful, and playful. Truly, this bakery provides for a fine dessert and/or treat during any holiday or special occasion. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
First time eating here, took my MIL for Mother's Day and I was very impressed with the food selections. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon and a chocolate eclair as well as a decaf white chocolate Ppeppermint mocha Both delicious! Would like to try their sourdough bread the next time I go. Price is a bit on the higher side but the quality you're getting is well worth it. If you haven't been check em out, I know you'll leave satisfied.

To the patisserie artist who produced this beautiful birthday cake (half sheet lemon chiffon, 10/27/18):
Congratulations! We have patronized Metropol since it first appeared in 1976, but this cake was the most stunning and flavorful of all our favorites. Thank you making it the highlight of the evening!
The best smell ever walking in!! Gorgeous pastries and amazing fresh bread
