My girl friend and I met for lunch at Angelo's today. For lunch they are cafeteria style. You can choose from slices of pizza, stuffed pizza, strombolis, calzones, lasagna and carbonara pasta. They also have salad and rolls (3 for $1). We arrived at noon and the line was not long at all. I chose a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage pizza. I also got three rolls to take home and a drink. My bill was $8.63. The sausage pizza had just come out of the oven, but the pepperoni was hot very good. Their pizza is a thin crust. My friend got the spinach calzone and three rolls with marinara sauce. At dinner they have table service instead of cafeteria style. Very enjoyable lunch at a good value.
Good place for a quick fix for pizza. It's been a round for awhile and it shows but I like the lunch buffet selection of pizza. Put door dining is available so it's a great place to people watch on Main Street.
Went back for dinner and had the eggplant parmigiana. I enjoyed it. Eggplant cooked have been firmer but good flavor.
I still love this place. My mothet used to take me here as a child wen they had the checkered table cloths. Its like a whole new place now. I did think it was a little pricey the last time i was there but the service and the food were great. The salad and pesto are terrific.
Five stars for sure!. Dined with a very good friend on Valentine's Day evening. We were seated slightly before our reservation time at a hi-top but then offered almost immediately a regular table which we declined. Initial offer of drinks was a little slow in arriving but after that service was superb by Jack, a very well informed and well-spoken young man. The menu for that evening was abbreviated due to the expectation of heavy business. We had expressly chosen Angelo's to have veal parmigiana which was not included on the abbreviated menu. Upon request Jack consulted with Angelo and the dish was quickly and graciously served to us. We did enjoy the salad served to us before our entree; we did request the salad be lightly dressed and our request was filled. The garlic rolls were very enticing when served although upon sampling the pesto butter was not to my particular likeing. Would very definitely return for dinner and I am interested in trying their lunch offering.
Best restauraunt for real Italian food.
Excellent food. Far far better than olive garden. Not much more expensive either. After one trip it has quickly became my favorite restaurant here.
Good food, not so good service. Ate here on a recommendation from hotel staff on a Wednesday night. Server was friendly, but kept calling us "girls" (one of us in our 30s, two in 60s - we hate that). The garlic bread was delicious - very garlic-y. The salad was ordinary - like Olive Garden. I had spaghetti and meatballs - very good, fresh sauce, meatballs were large and flavorful. My companions had the spinach ravioli, they loved theirs too.
After we started eating our entrees we only saw our server one more time when she flew by with water. Once we had finished, we had to wait about 30 minutes to get our checks, then another 15 to get our cards back. We were there 2 1/2 hours but didn't have any apps or dessert. Server was WAY too slow - other tables came and went in the time we were there. I would go back but would not stay if I had that same server (short, thin female with brown hair).

Reasonably priced, yummy food, excellent service. We had the stuffed mushrooms, lasagna, spinach ravioli, and the French silk pie. All were very tasty. Nice atmosphere. Don't know why people said it was overpriced, Evansville people tend to be cheap, though. This place was actually much less expensive than most Italian places. Will come back for sure.

Lunch is Great, Dinner is Lame.
Angelo's, located downtown, is a diamond in the rough Italian restaurant that serves a tremendous cafeteria style lunch from 11am-2pm. Their prices are modest and you get your money's worth. Great food, no question.
They have a worthwhile assortment of pasta dishes, pizzas, strombolis, and calzones to choose from. All of the pasta dishes get a small side salad and a pesto roll. Although I've tried everything and each item is damn good, I always go back for their pizza. It has a New York style homemade crust, sweet and zesty in-house sauce, and rich smooth cheese. Along with their other generous toppings, their pizza is my favorite in town. Certified dope.
Even though I love the ravioli and the pesto tortellini on the dinner menu, I will not go here for dinner anymore. Again, their lunch service is insanely worth it, but their dinner service seems like the same fare with smaller portions, a larger price, and more rolls and/or salad.
Stick with the lunch you can't go wrong.
Perfect for Lunch. Great lunch place! Pretty cheap and quick and they have plenty of seating for a lunch time crowd.
Wonderful. I stopped in here for lunch one day and the outside of the building scared me off a little bit but once I was inside and got my plate full of food I was pleased! So good! I can't wait to go back!

5 Star Food at 4 Star Prices. Angelo's is a very, very good restaurant. The chefs know what they are doing..The rolls were perfect, oily and seasoned just right. The food...Dont get me started. I went there for dinner with my fiance' and she had the Chicken Alfredo and I had the Chicken Cacciatore (Spelling?)...Both were excellent dishes. Price wasnt too bad, the food in itself was about $30 for the both of us, the food tasted like it was worth more-or-less $50 though. Their Lunch menu isnt too bad either, the Calzones, Lasagna, Pizza...It's all very good. The service was all right based on how many people there were, there was a decent wait, bu the wait was worth it.

I was in town with my brother, sister-in-law, and 3 young nieces and we chose Angelo's for dinner based on a recommendation from a friend. While things we a bit chaotic when we first came in, due to staff shortages, our experience was great! The food was AMAZING, prices were more than reasonable and the portions were abundant. The crab cakes are a must have!!
Fabulous Italian food! The sauces were so creamy. You could tell it was made to order from scratch. We had lasagna, fettuccini, carbonara, and spaghetti. Also the garlic knots!! Oh my! So soft and delicious. I would have been happy if that’s all I had to eat.

The garden of olives doesn't have a thing on this place. Five stars, food was absolutely awesome. Service is even better. Taste of Italian indeed. I'll be back for sure.
Friendly staff, delicious food, and a quiet atmosphere. The server checked up often, and brought food and drinks out in a timely manner. The tortellini was delicious and the house salad was well prepared. The garlic knots were dry and very garlicky, no dipping sauces were provided.
