Awesome taste an great service
Ive always wanted to try this restaurant. Finally I checked this place out for my birthday. We were seated promptly and our orders were taken. I ordered the lamb with shrimp curry. I ordered it with the level 5 heat. The heat wasn't crazy. I love spicy food and should have went with the level 6. The heat level is probably 2 numbers below the rating. So my level 5 was more like a 3. The lamb was very tender and the shrimp had a nice bite. The curry was very flavorful and complimented the lamb with each bite. Combined with the rice, you will definitely have some food to take home.
It was okay. The servers could have been a bit more polite. The food was savory rather than sweet (I'm used to butter chicken curry being a sweet curry) and the cheese bread had little chunks of cheese in it rather than being really cheesy like in cheesy crust pizza. Overall it was alright.
I've gone to this restaurant for years and this is by far the best experience I've ever had. Our server, Puran, was so sweet. They got our order in a timely manner and they kept us entertained while we waited. They were fun and very nice. I highly recommend coming here and asking for Puran! A well family owned restaurant.

While the pickings arent very numerous the food that is available is delicious. It tastes incredibly flavorful and the service is quick and consistent. The staff are all very friendly and I enjoy coming here as a good treat during thier buffet hours.

A favorite family owned, Evansville, restaurant. Their food is consistently phenomenal, and amazing. I always leave happy and full from the comfort of a great meal prepared by their excellent staff. The owners stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our meal and time and absolutely were! We were lucky to have gone on a night when their star server was scheduled Peran. Peran is an absolute gem, and a rock star in his classy pink button up. We were lucky to get a sneak peek at some new business cards and menus that, Peran, had designed, and WOW!! A great server, graphic designer, and artist. We'll definitely be back for the amazing food and hope it's a night when Peran is scheduled for their next performance. The Emmy belongs to Peran, and he absolutely knows it! His confidence, quick wit, grace, patience, sense of humor, and wholly welcoming and inclusive personality of, Peran, are going to have them going far in life! So ya better head to, Taj Mahal, in Evansville and hope they're there to serve you dinner before they're picked up by talent scouts for a great, and truly authentic, performance! The food though, y'all. I'm telling you, you have to go have their lamb korma and garlic naan. Naan compares. 12 stars.
I really enjoyed the food. I got chicken masala, vegetable pakora, lamb pepper curry, cheese naan and it all was fantastic. The waiter wasnt very friendly, but he was on time with the food and drinks.
Came for dinner - ordered the Lamb & Shrimp Curry, spice level 4. Flavors were great, and the heat level was decent. (Note: if this is a 4, I can see why items off the lunch buffet might be way too mild for some reviewers' tastes). As others have mentioned, the service was great.
