This place is very welcoming with the front door held open. First thing to notice is the amazing smells of the food here. It hits you walking up to the door.
They keep it official with you at kabob express, very professional, one of a kind service that will leave you wanting to try everything! It all sounds so good, I will tell you my experience with the food I ordered.
MIXED APPETIZER- was made fresh an served to my table in a timely manner and as fresh as could be. Served cold, the hummus is drizzled with olive oil an herbs and the pitas are grilled hot an crispy an fluffy. The grape leaf wraps were worth trying if you never had them!
GYRO PLATE- this will have your mouth watering! Not only is the lamb grilled fresh an tender like it should be, but they take pride in blending flavors to match right for the bite! The Naan bread is buttery garlic crisp an hot off the grill.
TURKISH COFFEE- definitely comes to the table served in silver! Like a hot shot of espresso, it's a small few sips with a nice cacao flavor
The best mediterranean food in Evansville! Always fresh and delicious, the spices are just very special and unique. And the staff is so nice and friendly, they always talk to me, ask me to try new things... It has become my favorite place.
Everything is fresh and amazing. This is my second time here and it is probably one of my favorite places in Evansville. My boyfriend stated it is his favorite place. The employees are extremely nice as well. If you like trying new coffees, I recommend the Turkish coffee! We devoured the food too fast to take picture.
I lived in Germany in 2009, and ever since I've been looking for an authentic Mediterranean experience in the USA. This place is fantastic. Not only is the menu extensive, but everything was very flavorful and fresh. They even have a selection of local goods and imported items from Europe, including Turkish coffee and random desserts! Really wish we had a place like this closer to home, I would certainly visit again if I pass through Evansville in the future. Didn't take any pictures because I cannot hold back from digging in!
Much better from the last time I was there. They are now under new ownership and it shows. The new owners have expanded the menu and increased the quality of the food. The food presentation was very nice and the portion sizes are very nice, I couldn't finish all of my chicken (I would have liked more veggies though). They have added some new decor and they now sell goods within the restaurant. My only complaint is that the chicken was overly lemony, however it didn't take away much from the flavor.

Kabob Express does an excellent job at giving you great tasting food, at a pretty competitive price. Coming here, I honestly didn't know what to expect, my fiance and I were looking for somewhere new to try and we found it and dove right in.
I have only ever had Mediterranean style food, really only a select few times and this might have been my favorite one to date. The food is made in an open air kitchen in front of you essentially so you can see and know your food is made properly which is always nice for people that care about that sort of thing.
The wait time is around 10-15 minutes so make sure you are aware of that and place an order ahead of time if you are ordering for lunch. Ours took a little longer, at around 20 minutes, however they gave us a free Baklava with our meal which is very appreciated and something we were thinking about trying out anyways because we were feeling adventurous.
The plate meals will run you about $15, and the sandwiches around $10, but both come with great sides. The salad was an excellent surprise for me, it tasted really good and could have had it for a main dish personally and would have been happy with how good it was.
Pictured in my review is a Gyro Plate meal, a Chicken Sandwich Meal, along with the Baklava. Everything tasted fresh, and is a place we will certainly be visiting again soon.
Excellent service! Great recommendations and the food was amazing! Tender flavorful lamb, delicious chicken schwarma, perfectly roasted veggies, and the naan bread was some of the best I have ever had. Definitely recommend!
