Restaurant itself has great interior and design, the staff was average and the Takoyaki was amazing. Have to take away two stars as the quality of the Ramen there was very bad. I had the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen and the broth was very watery and almost had no taste, the noodles were soggy and some were clumped together, and the toppings were not great either. The eggs were very very soft and not like Ajitsuke Tamagos, the meat was quite hard and not like standard Chashu at all and all ramen were described to be Tonkotsu Ramen in the menu. I also tried the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen just in case it was just the miso ramen that was faulty and they were sadly very similar. If I were to go this restaurant again, it'd only be for Sushi and Takoyaki, not for Ramen.

I had the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen : Pork belly, bamboo, corn, bean sprouts, green onions, garlic crisps & egg. I added a little salt and chili powder to bump the broth flavor a bit (for my own taste preference, the base was delicious). Very tasty!

I'm not from Washington State. Was here for work. I've heard that there's some good food in the state so my wife and I were excited to try this place. Once entering the restaurant, it was a little awkward. No one greeted us or acknowledged us. The waitress/hostess seemed to be in a mood. Many other customers in the restaurant were quiet. We ordered 2 ramens and 2 rolls. They completely forgot 1 roll. The Ramen broth was completely flavorless and watered down. The pork was fried and tough to chew. The sushi we got only came with 5 pieces. They wanted to charge extra for spicy mayo and eel sauce. Probably the worst ramen I've ever had and the customer service made everything worse.

J Ramen & Sushi is a tiny li'l place with a big ol' well-deserved reputation! I'm definitely going back to try their ramen -which is what they're most known for.
On this visit I took it easy with a gorgeous bottle of Nigori; a pear-scented rice wine w/a pearlescent sediment that rises to the top when its poured, along side what I'm sure are 2 of their best-selling specialty sushi rolls; the Seahawks Roll & Dragon Roll. Both were great, and we ordered seconds.
Parking is adequate, easy and free. I can't wait to go back for that ramen. Honestly I should've ordered some this trip, but I was on a first-ish date, and didn't wanna end up being all slurpy and whatnot. In hindsight, I should've just gone for it.

Service wasn't too bad. I had the teriyaki and gozilla roll. The sushi was really bomb.

We ordered 2 tonkatze ramen, the taste of the soup is less tasty, or not strong enough as tonkatze ramen. Expecting stronger taste.

Shoyu Ramen was amazing! Pork belly perfect! Tuna nigiri very fresh and the q roll was a delight! I wish I would have taken pictures, but we will definitely be going back so I will add some soon!

First time here and it was solid!! Food overall was 5 stars. Service was good but sushi was quite delayed. We were warned ahead of time, though, so they know this is an issue. Spicy tonkatsu was well done and the takoyaki was some of the best I have had both in Japan and in the US. Sushi was fresh and on point. Will definitely be back!!

Listen they were so kind and the food was amazing! Sushi is amazingly priced and their Vegetable Ramen was huge and flavors were on point. I was really pleased that they didn't get upset about my allergies to avocado and gladly made made my rolls without. Definitely returning soon! Best Sushi I've had since moving here from Florida!

My girlfriend and I are sushi snobs and absolutely LOVE Jay's. Easily some of the best sushi and ramen we've had. We also highly recommend the teriyaki!

The service was nice but food was not good. The ramen tasted extremely fishy and the egg was cold. My husband got some Teriyaki, it was 4 pieces of chicken on a cup of rice with brusselsprouts topped with a tiny salad for 13$! It was way over priced and it, plus our appetizers just lacked flavor. Over all just quite dissapointed.

I had Chicken Kaarge for app with very cold Sapporo beer then my fave Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen. The pork belly slices were perfectly done, the broth creamy and flavorful and the diced garlic in generous dollops danced happily with the baby bokchoy and bamboo shoots. Service was attentive but not intrusive . Intend to come back!

Great little place ... Wish I could keep it a secret. Food is excellent, the presentation is professional and enticing, all is priced fairly, staff was efficient and friendly, environment was clean and inviting, plenty of great choices on the menu for everybody. Loved it. Wish I could afford to go more often!

The Ramen was delicious and perfect. The sushi I had was a masterpiece and declicious. My only complaint is the sushi is a bit expensive but if you want it done right you pay the price I suppose.

I love the sushi here! I've never tried the ramen because I can't make myself order anything other than their sushi rolls. Staff is always very very nice too. Taking the wife here for Valentine's day tonight! Yum!

Me and my lady went here for lunch. She did not like the noodles. But loved the pork roll. I enjoyed both. The atmosphere and service was great. Love the music selection and TV placement. Bathroom was clean and nice. Might have her try something else on the menu next time.

Went with a sashimi platter, was surprised to find consistently high quality fish on this level in the area. Well worth the trip. Probably will try the Ramen next time, a couple next to me ordered it and it looked fantastic also.
Super friendly service and great presentation also.

OMG...spicy ramen with Pork is heaven, escolar is divine. We have missed J and Sarah as we visited them weekly at Katana. Congratulations J and Queeny on a fantastic soft opening. We are so happy for you and for our taste buds and tummy.
