Can’t give 4.5 or I would have. The food and service were very good. My wife got the stuffed Nolan. It looked and tasted great. I got the Hungry Joe with waffle, and sausage. All cooked perfect. I’m picky about sausage, and this was good. A little pricy for breakfast, but hey it’s Alaska, and we’re in vacation, so we expected it.

Definitely a vacation or tour destination!! This place offers extremely tasty breakfast for all day option, open and comfortable seating and very homey. Great service crew. The corned beef hash is the most famous and tasty. An impressive prime rib fried steak, and good coffee to boot. Also featuring some very good variety options and excellent taste. Definitely worth the trip.

Alaska isn't really the place for eating light, based on our recent experiences. On our last day, we had a late lunch at The Cookie Jar due to how enticing the pictures of their food are. The taxi ride here didn't take long, nor did it take long to get seated, even though the place looked very busy. But, after getting seated and getting served coffee, it took another hour to receive our food. Our taxi driver did give us fair warning that service here takes a while. Luckily we had ample time that day. $18.99 Country Fried Steak - prime rib, lightly breaded and fried, covered with sausage gravy, with 2 large eggs: I do like country fried steak but I've never had it made with prime rib before. This was massive. Of course I finished it, but I couldn't finish the enormous biscuit that came with it. This is the thickest cut of country fried steak I have ever had, topped with thick gravy. Within the fried crunchy breading was some juicy meat. I tried some of the biscuit, but it is on the dense side. $15.99 Corned Beef Hash - corned beef cooked and diced, with hashbrown potatoes, grilled onions, 2 eggs: Another massive meaty dish with juicy, fatty brisket, which was a bit on the salty side, as corned beef hash tends to be, and crisp shredded potatoes. $14.99 Stuffed Nolan's - cream cheese stuffed cinnamon roll, grilled and topped with berry compote and whipped cream, with bacon: I would never even think to batter and fry a cinnamon roll, let alone stuff it with cream cheese, and top it with berry compote and whipped cream, AND serve it with a side of bacon. This was such a delicious dessert. It sounds heart stopping and if you can handle that, it is worth the calories. This was probably our best, and most memorable meal in Fairbanks. The Cookie Jar is so picturesque. Come here if you are ready to eat good.

If I can give 10 stars, I would! I would easily vote them the best breakfast joint in Alaska, including Snow City. Their Stuffed Nolan’s (Cream cheese cinnamon roll) and corn beef hash are so good! Staff are friendly. We came here twice during our 3-day trips in Fairbanks. Wish we can have more time and try more dishes!

Very popular local spot here in Fairbanks that was packed for a reason! Face sized cinnamon buns and great meals will not disappoint anyone who visits! There is a whole counter display of cookies & other goodies right as you enter the front door! Food was very delicious and cinnamon roll was so huge, we had to take the 2nd half to-go. 😉

First time eating at The Cookie Jar and we were very impressed!! It was slammed packed but they did a great job seating people in an efficient manner! All of the staff was friendly and several times we were asked if we had been helped yet while we stood in the crowd at the front by the registers. Once we were seated, we had a wonderful waitress named Jennifer- she was friendly, smiling, and made sure to tell us upfront they had ran out of corned beef hash- not that we were going to order that but it was helpful to know ahead of time things like that! Choosing what to order was really difficult- every tray of plates that passed by us was filled with delicious looking options! I finally settled on the stuffed Nolan’s cinnamon roll and my husband k we he wanted the country fried prime rib. The wait for the food did take a little while however considering the crowds it was a reasonable time to wait. Our food came and WOW- huge portions and it all tasted amazing! The cinnamon roll with that fresh mixed berry topping was DELICIOUS! I told my husband I could have a bowl of that berry topping and some ice cream and be in heaven! Our waitress even said they make it fresh there- even better to hear that! Husband’s country fried prime rib he said was fantastic! We were full halfway through but it was too good to stop eating so we gobbled it all down and didn’t leave much cleaning for the dishwasher to do haha! We will be back, and back, and back again! Also up front is a glass case with all sorts of cookies, cinnamon rolls, and other goodies to purchase to take home. They also have a small gift selection at the entrance too- children’s books, post cards, local trinkets for sale!
