I am very peculiar about the food I eat, especially Jamaican food. As I entered the restaurant, it was obvious not to notice the settings of the place. Bob Marley photos, reggea music in the air, and other Jamaican art. First thing I asked the server, who was very polite, is the cook Jamaican. Once verified with a yes, I ordered the Jerk Chicken Ceasar Salad and plantains. Everything was delicious. Even though I'm in MD, I will have to revisit. People, this place is the Real Deal.

The stars say it all. The best Caribbean food I've ever had. The customer service is straight on point. I'll be going here for as long as they're in business.

I have been looking for another local Caribbean restaurant and you all exceeded my expectations! The interior setting is warm, welcoming, and gives you that island feel. I tried the goat roti and beef Patti. Both were packed with flavor and just the perfect amount of kick. Needless to say I will be back! Thank you for a pleasurable meal

Some of the best country style ox tails in the DMV! I can't express how delicious, wholesome, and just down right on point the food and service is! Been coming to this location since they took over the restaurant! You must come by and show your love!

Teddy's just lost a customer lol I finally went in tonight and as soon as I saw they had roti on the menu it was a wrap for me, the chicken roti was on point and I have a new place to be on the weekends instead of making that run to DC.

Was in Washington DC for my granddaughters graduation and one of her friends was leaving back and we wanted to get something to eat so I suggested Jamaican food and they were so excited. The food here is really really good I was so impressed with the Decour I travel and I think this is the best Caribbean spot that I have been to thus far the ambience was awesome and are service was excellent.

Just moved to area and was looking for real yaardie food. Delighted to find this place close by. And thanks for surviving Covid to stay open. Extensive menu with great "authentic sounding" choices. So many dishes looked delicious, so I ordered the sample plate. Looking at the menu, everything seems "pricey" but on arrival, was good sized portion. ALOT of rice, but a little skimpy on the curried goat & oxtails. Fair sample portions of curried chicken, brown stew & jerk chicken. What I really liked was the plantains were very nicely cooked (not burnt), and even in the take out packaging, was nicely presented. The food was good, but as I'm a Jamaican, I thought it needed more ..oomph....spice. it was nicely seasoned and it did taste nice, but rather bland. And, yes. Menu is pricey, too expensive to be a daily or even weekly choice....but to satify a craving for a taste of the islands, would definitely have some again.

Boomars and myself early dinner trying carribbien. Place is rather small. Some tables inside. Clean, and fun decorations. Good Caribbean music. First time having Caribbean food which I enjoyed andvwill be back. I tried the Sample platter which consisted of curry chicken, ziggy wings, jerk wings, oxtail and goal and 2 sides. I had the coleslaw and rice and peas. We also had the pan fried snapper (whole fish), crispy flavorful. We ordered a jerk chicken meal pie and a beef pie. Every was well seasoned and delicious. The curry chicken was delicious, a different curry not spicy. Not like an Indian curry or Japanese curry. Very good. I loved the jerk chicken wings. These had a little spice and a little mire kick. The ziggy wings were good more on the sweeter side but very good. The oxtail is really good. Not a lot of meat but flavorful. I enjoyed the goal

Stopped here for lunch and it didn't disappoint! I had the ziggy wings and oxtails, rice and peas and cabbage. Everything was flavorful. I wasn't crazy about the cabbage but overall I loved the food. Great customer service too!

Best Jerk Wings I’ve ever eaten. The meat was so tender that it was falling off the bone. The brown stew chicken and curry chicken was amazing as well. I highly recommend this place!!

Great oxtails. They give you more than enough. The rice and beans taste freshest at the beginning of the week. I love their cabbage though it's cut smaller than I like. It almost puts me in the mind of coleslaw. The Ziggy wings are a great option as well. You really can't go wrong at this location.

A no frills place to eat. My jerk chicken breast with rice and peas and fried plantains was the most reasonably priced and really was good. One friend had never had oxtails before and had the combo with wings, which she also liked. The other friend was disappointed in the curry chicken with mild sauce, which she found much too mild. There were no muffins or roti today. Two of us out of three would go back and would try the jerk chicken sandwich.

A great joint with very good food - great menu with lots to choose from. The rice and peas and cabbage sides are especially good and really do go with everything. We've eaten in and taken out...either works well..

Ordered delivery through grub hub. The food: arrived hot and everything kept well. I did put the beef patty in the air fryer for 4 minutes to make it extra flakey but i could have eaten it as is. I also got the jerk chicken wings, rice and peas, and cabbage. The jerk had good heat but was a little salty IMO. The pro: The wing meat literally fell off the bone - it was incredible! I’ve never seen chicken wings this tender. So so good. The con: You only get 4 wings which i thought was low for a $12 plate. Follow me on Instagram and Tiktok for more @AlixTakesaBite
