My boss brought a box of Cronuts and Kolaches into the office and he is a better boss because of this one decision. If you're a boss, you should do the same thing. The Cronuts are quite delicate and flakey but are big enough to make you think, "yeah, I can call this breakfast." The frosting was sweet and not gooey/messy at all. The Kolaches were also cooked to perfection with a proportionate sausage so you're not left with too much bread to meat ratio. Be a better boss, take 'em some goodies.

Beautiful Kolache & coffee shop hidden inside the nondescript shopping area along Midway. The decor is wonderful.  They have done a good job with wood flooring, brick arches and pleasant accents like flowers and paintings. Service is as nice as the decor.  You will be greeted with a pleasant hello and a smile.  They will happily explain what is inside the different options.  I thought it was a nice touch to point out my first choice did not have the sausage in it.  When I heard that I picked the option she pointed to. I selected two type of kolaches: Sausage Jalapeno and Ranchero.  The first one is a traditional pig-in-a-blanket look.  It contained two types of spicy that blended with the fresh bread.  The Ranchero looked like a dinner bun, but it was stuffed full of scrambled eggs, ham and cheese mixed with a chipotle/ranchero type sauce.  To wash it all down, I ordered a Mocha coffee.  I really liked my visit.  I stayed and read my book while enjoying the food and coffee.

Last week, my mom and I traveled to Texas to visit Jay. One of our first stops on my culinary journey was to experience a kolache. Kolaches first originated in the 1700’s in Czechoslovakia and were brought to Texas by immigrants who settled there. These delicious little pastries come in savory choices such as Philly Cheese steak or BBQ Beef, but also can be enjoyed with fruit fillings including blueberry, cheery, and apricot. Kolaches are also popular in Oklahoma and Montgomery, Minnesota, where they are rumored to be the kolache capital of the world. See how they ranked.

This is one of those bakeries that you have to go back to again and again, you’ll want to have their kolaches every day! Great options for vegetarians too, my favorite is the spinach kolache.

If you like Kolache this is your spot. A huge selection with quality ingredients and friendly service. A family run shop, pride of ownership shows through the food and service. I won’t be looking anywhere else for my Kolache.

This place is phenomenal. The pastries are delicious and well made. We’ve tried almost all of the flavors though we have our go-to favorites now. They also have an espresso machine and if you go enough they remember how you like your coffee (with cinnamon sprinkled on top for me!) It is such a homey abcs welcoming place with such a great breakfast that when we moved away, we make the drive back through to grab breakfast. Worth the extra 30 minutes to enjoy our favorite “kolaches” in Texas!
