This place is definitely a hidden, fine dining gem of Fernandina!! This crew is built for perfection from start to finish! The moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by the owners who seemed to have accepted us as family. Our server has very knowledgeable of the specials, what wine to pair with what dishes and didn't hover like some other places. We were a party of 5 that wanted to converse, eat, drink and be merry and she allowed us to do just that with interrupting us. Our wine and water glasses were filled without us really knowing she was there, almost like a serving ninja.
After some of her recommendations we all ordered different dishes to pass around and sample. Not a single one of the dishes disappointed!! Cheeses were light and delicious, fried Brussels sprouts were to die for and the Mayport shrimp and grits were mouth watering! Then came the entrees.... OH! MY! GOD!!!! Steak was super tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare, the pork ribs were kissed with smoke and able to "cut" with a spoon. But my personal favorite was the mushroom risotto topped with duck confit. When I say tender I really mean "I put a piece of duck between my tongue and roof of mouth and it melted on the spot".
Perfect place for a date, bring long lost friend or just to spoil yourself! Get there fast before everyone else knows and snatches up all the reservations!
Move over the big names in Fernandina restaurant world there's a new dog in town. This kid is moving and shaking up the menu here at Burlingame. Chef Chad Livingston is doing seasonally inspired dishes that are just simple delicious. When Eric and Deb Fanelli put this place together they put a little bit of home in to it. This place looks and feels like you are in a families home. I found this place looking for a new place to eat here in Fernandina while spending the weekend here. The reviews were really good and I just felt it my duty to found out for myself. I do like the higher end places for which there are only few here. This place is sweet from the perfectly manicured lawns and herbs growing around the front walkway. We walked in and were quickly greeted by Eric and when we got to our table we were in a smaller room with about 6 other tables. Our server who was very knowledgeable of all parts of the menu and the preparations of each dish. She made her suggestions for our meal and actually I went with one for my app course. I went for the grilled corn and garganelli pasta with sugar snap peas and benton bacon. This dish was great start to our dinner. I moved on to a main of seared diver scallops that were cooked perfectly and a thick slab of very tender pork belly not bacon. The pork belly was very tender and you could taste the pork which is normally hard to find on other dishes that I have had. The dinner was just getting better with each bite. The wife went in with the pork tenderloin which also was cooked just right. I'm really nice to see a chef that doesn't mind to cook pork to a nice med rare. The pork was some tender but that little hint if smoke (pecan I think) sent it right over the top. We both were very full but when the dessert question came up we just looked at each other and said sure why not. I voted for the chocolate chip n vanilla cake with fresh strawberries a chocolate ganache and a pretzel crumble. Now this was a very sweet way to end a fabulous menu. Everything from the venue to the service to the meal itself this was a fantastic experience that we will enjoy many times to come. I do look forward to coming back in the near future. We are going to be friends soon.
We arrived on foot just as the rain began. We were early by ten minutes and waited outside as beautiful, classical music played through outside speakers. Soon the door opened and we were seated. The skies opened up, but we were seated and dry! From then, through our dining experience, we were treated to outstanding, and personal service from Anastasia, Laurie, and the staff. The food was so good! From the smoked fish dip, to the entrees, I would recommend this restaurant on a scale of one to ten as a TEN!!!
Such an asset to the downtown dining scene - it is so nice to have this lovely venue as a fine dining option for a special evening, but did you know that it is also the perfect spot for a quick but delicious meal earlier in the evening? Burlingame offers a happy hour, with selections from their menu, which offers the perfect pre-theater light bite and cocktail combination. I have enjoyed eating here on several occasions, have always been impressed by the service, presentation, and food, and have appreciated the small and ever-changing menu. The owners and kind and accommodating, and clearly care about their clientele's experience - it is all about service, and it shows. Will be back again and again.

Wow! We were a party of 7 last night for dinner! It was by far the most wonderful dining experience we have had for a long time. Everything was magnificent. I had the steak frites, the asparagus appetizer was wonderful, wine was delicious. Our server was wonderful, we were greeted at the end of our meal by the owner/manager, our service and food all evening felt like the Ritz Carlton. Thank you for a fabulous evening! If you haven't been, treat yourself!
We arrived early before opening to surprise a friend on his birthday. The owner and staff let us in early, ha e the 3 of us a comp glass of wine and then sat us down. The finest meal I have had and the atmosphere and staff were first class. Prices are very reasonable including the desserts. Thanks again for accommodating us early
Everything was delicious the Mayport shrimp appetizer with cheese grits was one of the best I have ever had!! Scallops were amazing and our server Fab was great! Can’t wait to come back!
Excellent dining experience.
The great white oysters starter from Cape Cod were perfect, and aptly described by our waiter.
Duck Breast was excellent, the accompaniments were a bit too Asian for my taste but still very well prepared.
My wife had the hanger steak that also great.
The pecan pie with brown butter ice cream along with French pressed coffee finished the meal with a bang.
Only drawback is we do not live closer.
If you are ever on Amelia Island or in Fernandina Beach - you must visit this fantastic restaurant. The food is out of this world, the hospitality is warm and friendly, service is spectacular, wines are divine.
Truly excellent food! The shrimp and grits appetizer was to die for, the pasta carbonara was amazing & the coconut meringue with blueberries was a perfect ending. And that's not even mentioning the perfect wine pairing.

Second visit for Sunday brunch and both have exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food, service, and presentation keeps Burlingame at the top of the list on Amelia Island. I'm a little biased because my firm designed the space, but the atmosphere is bright, lovely, and inviting as well.
Hidden gem for sure. Food was very good and beautifully plated. Only drawback would be not a full bar, but that’s not a huge deal.
We had a wonderful Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas and the best shrimp & grits I've ever tasted. Not your ordinary every day grits. My daughter had duck & waffles, which she orders every time. Chef Chad visited with everyone and he's a former chef from the Ritz. Burlingame will soon become #1 on Amelia Island.
Amazing food. Start with either the shrimp and girts or soft shell crab appetizer, then the BBQ pork chop, or the Duck and then the pecan pie. Everything is made from scratch even the ice cream.
Burlingame is a fabulous new edition to Fernandina. The owners are gracious and attentive. The food is fantastic and balanced in all of its nuances. The environment is refined and tasteful. We went there twice in the same week. Having been to all decent restaurants in town I can honestly say that Burlingame is the best by far. There was not one thing I would change. We can not wait to go back next year when we return to Amelia Island!
We ate here last night!!! Very fresh and very good food. The Brown butter ice cream w/ pecan pie! To die for!
Really enjoyed our experience on Saturday evening. You did a great job of letting the quality of the ingredients shine in their dishes (those grits!!). Friendly staff with a helpful knowledge of the wine list. We'll definitely be back.

One of my new favorite restaurants! Everything exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere, the food and the service were all on point! We will be back!!!
In one word, incredible. Just an amazing experience all around.
The food was so great, we came back the following night as we didn’t think it would be possible to find anywhere else that would be as good.
We didn’t have a reservation the second night but stopped in on the off chance that there had been a cancellation. The hostess was amazing and offered to take my number then call me when someone left the bar area. As promised, she called me 25 minutes later and we were seated.
The servers are knowledgeable and the food is excellent. Fresh, clean ingredients with deep flavors.
If you’re in the area, I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
My husband and I had a great meal at Burlingame. Cozy vibes - old home turned restaurant - fireplace, etc. The staff was very friendly, from the hostess, the woman who filled our water, and then our server - who was very knowledgeable. All food is made in house. I had a great coconut guava mocktail (pregnant) and my husband had a gin cocktail. We split the tomato/peach appetizer which was delicious. I got the lamb bolognese and my husband got the fish special. We were both very happy with our meals. I would recommend for anyone visiting Amelia Island who is looking for a nice dinner out.
Seriously one of the best meals I've had in Florida. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and staff were terrific. Every bite I was reminded that the person who prepared our meal really cared about making the best dish possible.
This place was amazing. We had muscles and Brussel sprouts for appetizers and both were excellent. For the main course, we had shrimp and grits and the lamb pasta dish...both were amazing. I also loved the Float on mixed drink and it was awesome. Overall, this was the best dinner we have had in a long time. Great service and atmosphere. We will be back.
Incredible all around. Standouts were pork chop, brussel sprouts, mezcal spicy drink, catch of the day (red snapper), and service by Ashley.
We came for my husband’s birthday dinner. We started off with the beet salad which was very flavorful. The duck croquettes were perfectly fried with a soft breading firm enough to hold the ball together. The beets and balsamic reduction were delicious. My husband had the duck breast and after tasting it I wished I had orders it! It was a large breast and the outside was nicely crisped and so much flavor! It was perfectly cooked medium rare and so tender. I orders the shrimp and grits as my meal so they doubled the appetizer portion to make it a dinner portion. The shrimp were cooked perfectly too. They were slight crisped on the outside and nice and tender, not chewy. However, the grist were lukewarm, not hot and they were low on flavor. That’s my only complaint. Service was phenomenal. Everyone was very attentive.
Superb restaurant with just exceptional service.
Of the 5 dishes we had, all were exceptional.
The menu was substantially smaller than I expected - with not a single vegan item. Also, if you are dairy-averse, as I am, then this may not be your first choice in place to go.
Bottom line, great time, but won't go back till they have better non-dairy prep options.
Can't imagine better service - Tanner took care of us.
Incredible! The snapper was amazing: perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, an incredibly well-composed dish. The service was personal and very professional (without feeling stuffy or insincere). Also, as someone who loves good coffee (too many fine dining restaurants fall down here), they have amazing coffee from Dancing Goats Coffee. The French Press I had with my chocolate torte with raspberry sorbet was the perfect end to my dinner. I'd honestly visit the area again just to eat here. It was that good!
Great spot for fine dining on the island of Amelia. Reservations are welcome. And the food is amazing! Great creations with food and drinks. Must try!
PHENOMENAL! We went here for our anniversary dinner! Every bite was absolutely stunning! It's started with bold sourdough bread and decadent chive butter! Round two were exquisite brussel sprouts and immaculately prepared octopus. For the main, we did the sea bass and shrimp and grits - both slam dunks! We finished it off with lemon pie - do die for! OH, AND ALSO, let me not forget the incredible cocktail menu - the lovely rita, young american were perfectly crafted, and the tokaji pairing with the lemon pie dessert! 🤤🤤🤤 Bless these wonderful people for bringing such incredible flavor into existence. Absolutely magical!
Love this restaurant! The food is unmatched, everything I've ever eaten there has been spectacular! Highly recommend! The pictures are of the Snapper, Porchetta, Bacon-wrapped Scallops, and the beautiful and festive lighting above the bar.
Highly recommend going early for happy hour. The food and drinks are well thought out and prepared beautifully. My old fashioned and wild boar (pictured) were a perfect pairing. Menu is pricey but food, service and presentation reflect the price. Would recommend and we’ll be back next time we visit Amelia Island.
Wonderful service and food! My wife and I came here for dinner while in town and loved everything. Our server was very attentive and was spot on with his suggestions. The food was excellent. We will definitely dine here again the next time we return to Amelia Island.
Stopped by for dessert and drinks. Amazing service since you open the door. The hostess was kind and attentive, didn’t catch her name unfortunately. Christine our server was amazing. We had peach gelato, homemade ande delicious with the granola, loved the crunch and the sweetness. The crème brûlée was perfection. My husband had the Pisco Bond and I had the Coconut lime & Guava mock tail, both refreshing. Highly recommend. Sit inside during hot heather.
Restaurant is in a quant house which gives it a cozy feel. Small menu, but exquisite menu. Everything we had at our table was executed masterfully and tasted wonderful. Service was great and not overbearing. Extra care taken with food allergies. Magnificent after dinner drink menu, especially if you are a bourbon fan.
I would definitely recommend this establishment and make no hesitation in returning here on my next visit.
