Service was good but the food was fabulous! My husband and I had eaten seafood already during our stay at Amelia so we both went with beef on this night. He ordered the rib eye and I ordered the prime rib. Both were cooked perfect and were just delicious. The cream brûlée was wonderful and the coffee was the best I have ever had. We will definitely be back on our next visit.
A huge “Thank You” to all at Joe’s 2nd Street Bistro for making my dad’s 85th birthday celebration a whopping success. It was a meal he won’t soon forget and I can’t express my gratitude enough. Specifically Owners Mari and her husband Chef Ricky, and server Brian. I worked with Mari for a few weeks on the particulars via email and everything was spot on! From the chilled bottle of Prosecco awaiting us as we arrived, to the lemons for the water, and the menus with no prices, every detail I asked for was honored with professionalism and a willingness to please. Brian was outstanding in explaining the fare and specials, answering the questions we had about the origin of the seafood and which is better, the bouillabaisse or the linguine with shrimp and scallops (we ordered both), splitting up a double order of the crab cakes appetizer onto individual plates, and giving us the time we needed between courses to enjoy each other’s company. The food was superb and expertly prepared. Mari and Chef Ricky even stopped by our table to chat and wish my father a happy birthday. We will be singing the praises of this experience to everyone who asks. Well done and kudos! Pat yourselves on the back and take a bow. You deserve it!! As we say in Italian, Grazie mille per un buon pasto e serata! 1000 thank you’s for a beautiful meal and evening!!
My lady and I had dinner at Joes's last evening. Right from the moment we entered the front door I knew it would be a special place. We were greeted by the hostess with a very warm and welcoming smile. We did not have reservations, but were accommodated easily at an outdoor table at our request. Our server, April, arrived shortly after, and explained the specials in a manner atat had me wanting to order all of them. I can not say enough about the level of service that April provided. Attentive, but not hovering, and always ready to offer advice or answer a question if one arose.
We don't usually order appetizers, but the fried wontons with chicken and andoullie sausage sounded delicious. They were, and the coleslaw that accommpanied them was probably the best I have had in years.
We both ordered scallop dishes as our entrees. I had the linguini with scallops and shrimp. The meal was beautifully prepared except that the "side-muscle" or tendon was not removed from three of the four scallops on my plate.
I am not one to make a big deal out of such things, but at an establishment like this, it was rather surprising. I mentioned them to April who immediately took them back into the kitchen. That was all I needed. As I said, the meal was delicious! I certainly wasn't looking for anything more. Within minutes, Jim, the manager, was beside our table, apologizing for the error. I honestly felt a bit embarrassed, but he assured me that he was not happy. As Jim put it; "This is not what we do!"
Summing up, gracious, welcoming, accommodating, and delicious. The key lime pie? Save room! Simply scrumptious!
We will be back!
We just finished an amazing meal there. The staff was incredibly kind- Kathy was our server and was simply wonderful. Delicious is an understatement for the food- everything was perfect. They made our early anniversary dinner one to remember forever. Thank you all!
Great food. We had the prime rib sandwich, Mac n cheese (best I've ever had) with huge pieces of local shrimp!, Great jalapeno coleslaw, and homemade ketchup. Would definitely eat there again .

Delightful experience. The pan fried trout with oven roasted potatos was so delicious! Only thing that could have made it even better would have been a nice House made tartar sauce or other seafood sauce. Wait staff is impeccable!
We had a group of 10 friends.. the service and food was excellent.... especially for such a large party. We loved our waiter, Louis! He was super helpful and kept up with the large party well. He also had some help from other servers... whose names I didn't get but they were all very friendly and on top of everything... including taking pictures for us. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I visited Amelia Island for New Years and our 19th Anniversary. Searched the whole town while there for Prime Rib. (No luck) Went to Joe’s and was amazed with the atmosphere and the quality of staff. Sonny was our waiter and he was very informative of the dishes served. Once he said that Prime Rib was a special, I didn’t even look at the menu. My wife had the shrimp/scallop pasta and both dishes were perfectly cooked and had nice presentations. Definitely will return.
We went for my daughter's Sweet 16th Birthday dinner!! They were very accomadating, friendly and amazing staff. This was the best food I've had on Amelia island!! Thank you for making this such a beautiful, memorable event!!
Great service Great atmosphere Great Food!!!
First time to Joes and can’t wait to come back! My wife and I had the duck and the lamb. Would highly recommend!
I can’t believe how long I’ve lived here and have never visited this bistro until recently. I went with a friend for lunch and had the Ahi Tuna appetizer and the crab cake salad while my friend had the shrimp and grits. Everything was wonderful and reasonably priced for lunch with appropriate portions.
Best meal and service start to finish we've ever eaten. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Once again another return visit. This time Maryland crab cakes, Shrimp & Grits and salmon sandwich. Every meal we had has been excellent. My favorite was shrimp & grits. Great service also. Reservations are needed.
Absolutely the best service we've had in a while. Our waters were refilled the minute they were low, and we had everything we needed the moment we needed it.
Food was absolutely perfect. Pictured is the Chicken Penne, and the seasoning was just enough to enjoy it and not enough to be overwhelming. Nice and light but filling.
The only downside is how warm the restaurant is. It was already hot outside already so going from 97-100 degrees outside to basically the same temperature with no breeze was rough. Though as the sun went down it did get cooler and was manageable.
Lovely quaint bistro in the heart of downtown Fernandina Beach. Excellent menu options, consistently delicious food, nice wine list! Reservations suggested.
Wonderful start to finish. Excellent flavors.
We tried: chicken and andouille sausage wonton, crab stuffed shrimp, pork chop, linguini, and their three desserts.
The cinnamon roll bread pudding was the absolute best of the three desserts.
Definitely put this place on your lost of places. From drinks, apps, salad, dinner, dessert and service was a wow!
Lovely restaurant with great service. Grouper in corn husk wrapper was fantastic. Good selection of beer. A little pricey, but overall very good.
We had the rib eye and shrimp and grits. The rib eye was one of the best I've ever had. The shrimp and grits were very good. One meal was ordered off of the menu that included an appetizer, entre, dessert, and coffee. I had a salad for the appetizer. It was good, but only about 1/2 the size of the salads on the regular menu.
The water does not taste like regular Florida water, it was very drinkable.
Amazing restaurant in downtown Fernandina Beach. The menu and food were very creative. The mixture of ingredients to create the flavor profiles was well thought out. The staff was friendly and attentive.
What a find! First time here, the food was excellent! They made their own ketchup! Delicious!
So my fiancée has the Bistro Salad while I went to the fresh catch of day sandwich... both our lunches were excellent! Everything appeared & visually felt as it was freshly prepared... the fries, fish was cooked perfectly, not overly done not under just perfect!
We had a zero wait time when walked in and the atmosphere was very pleasant! Very relaxing place, the colors on the walls ceiling was calming and fit this place oh-so-swell! 👍👍👍
We really enjoyed dinner at Joe’s 2nd Street Bistro tonight. The service was excellent and all of the food was fresh and well prepared. We had the crab stuffed shrimp as a starter. It was delicious even though I wish the portion was just a little larger. For dinner, my husband had the grilled ribeye with three sauces and I had one of the specials, which was a coffee rubbed New York strip steak with jalapeño cheddar grits. We will definitely come back to Joe’s again when we make our next visit to Fernandina Beach.
Food was phenomenal. Fresh, hot, well seasoned and came out in a timely manner. We had the special fresh catch red fish, seafood bouillabaisse, crabcake appetizer, and fresh foccacia with olive oil. Everything was delicious. We stopped in on a whim and will definitely be back. Service was fantastic as well.
Nice Enough
Joe’s was pretty good. The interior is kind of stark and not very inviting. The server was nice and helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The wine list is a bit dull and no house cocktails are offered.
The spinach salad was quite tasty but seemed rather small. Some spinach, a half slice of orange and a good dressing adds up to pretty cheap food costs for an $11 salad. The linguine with shrimp and scallops was quite good with perfectly cooked scallops. The grilled salmon BLT was also very good. The portions of the two entrees were very good.
Overall, a bit of decoration, a more substantial salad and some good house cocktails would turn this into a 5-star restaurant.
There were five families in our group. We have a reservation and the entire experience was really smooth and pleasant. To begin, we were promptly seated when we arrived at our reserved time. Our waitress was very friendly and well trained. Our water glass were never empty. If you're looking for a great sit down dinner service, this place fits the bill.
Our food did not disappoint as they were well seasoned, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Being the weekend, I was able to order the prime rib that sits on grilled summer vegetables and mashed potatoes. Some of us had the Risotto Milanese (the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly), rack of lamb, and grilled salmon. I did not hear one word of complain about our food.
The fact that we had five families paying for their own meals did not faze our waitress. The bill came back correctly. I understand that this is a tourist town and things are going to be pricey but a three course meal at this restaurant will set you back $50. If you order a drink or two with it, be prepared to spend $80 per person. Word of caution, if you order the Caesar Salad and is asked with anchovies or not, go with no or you're going to end up with extra anchovies and an upcharge of $2.
I recommend the Risotto Milanese. They achieve perfect consistency for the risotto and the cheese was of good quality.
Always fantastic. My party had the prime rib, filet mignon Diane and linguini with scallops and shrimp. All perfectly prepared and delicious. Excellent service
Food was delicious! Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. Can't wait to come back and try some of their other menu items.
Food was good. Took a while for it to come out. The bread that was served while waiting for the main food was delicious I honestly could of just ate that for my meal lol. Space is a little tight as tables are so close together.
