I enjoy the chicken tikka massalla. It has pieces of tanjore chicken in a creamy tomatoe sauce and it's served over rice. If you want to keep it safe and love chicken and tomatoe sauce then choose this. It is always my favorite. It has a sweet but slight kick of spice. The waiters are always friendly when I arrive. I have had the lunch Buffett and it had a great selection of their regular menu items including desserts and breads.
Hits the spot. When you need Indian food, you've gotta have it -- and here it is! I found this one by accident and gave it a whirl. Set back from the road in a strip mall setting, it doesn't look like it will be nearly as interesting as it does turn out to be.
They put out a masterful-looking standard Indian buffet, but I chose to order from the menu since I like my food spiced hotter than most typical American diners. Waiting for my main meal was not a trial since I was speedily served pappadum with 3 delicious sauces, and my samosa appetizer came out speedily as well. The lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala I chose were both excellent, but I had to ask for a leftovers box since the portions were larger than what most Indian restaurants offer up.
The breads are great (I sampled onion kulcha, paratha, and straight-up naan) and the mango lassi just right -- not too sweet and not too cold (at other places the lassi is sometimes incorrectly served like a McDonald's milkshake).
I can't wait to come through here again.
We eat here regularly. The service is always polite and timely . The menu is comprehensive - from South India's masala dosa to Goa's Vindaloo and North Indian lamb pasanda, tandoori offerings and all time favorite chicken tikka masala. It is always well prepared and fresh tasting. Don't forget to try the delish mango lassi and tasty flatbread, onion kulcha.
Love this place - try it again!!!. Several have had negative experiences here, it seems in late summer of 2009. Try it again - I've never had a bad meal there. It is sublime in my experience, but we only started going in September/October. The buffets are amazing as well. And I'm another who lived in NYC a long time and ate a good deal of very good Indian food while there. This place is on par with the best establishments in the city. Really.
I tried Tanjore and wow i was surprised. The workers were nice and the atmosphere was nice too. They were actually just wrapping up the buffet but i placed a to go order. Tikka chicken masala, mango chutney, lasoni gobi, masala dosa and garlic naan. It was all very good and I will definatly be back đđ
Go straight there NOW! If youâre reading this review, it means that youâre interested in good grub! Just tap the location and set your navigation and drive. As another review said, this is hands-down the best Indian food in Dutchess County. My family has searched for years to find a match to an Indian restaurant on the upper West side of Manhattan that we went to almost every week for years before it suddenly closed down and broke our heartsđ„șWe found it at Tanjoređ€© Iâm very slowly making my way through the menu. But the things are so good I find myself sometimes ordering a dish I had before instead of trying a new one. Itâs all so damn yummy. And they cook to your taste -hot or hotter, a little sweet, sweeter âyou ask and they will accommodate. Clean, comfortable, family-friendly. Good relaxed atmosphere for a first date to show of that youâre cultured and try different things. Why are you still reading this? DRIVE! đđ
The food is delicious! Best Indian cuisine in the county. Though the communication with their customer base could use improvement.
PS: I would suggest posting to social media [Facebook] if the restaurant schedule changes suddenly and adjusting the online ordering for the next business day if no one is at the restaurant instead of an auto reply that accepts the order as if the restaurant is open. A message with updated information on the answering machine would be nice too.
AMAZING!! GLUTEN FREE NAAN! But really, this place is wonderful! Kind, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. They were able to answer my questions and recommend gluten free dishes. They even had gluten free naan which is such a wonderful bonus!
I usually get the chicken korma, and it never disappoints.
My family and I went here to celebrate my grandma's birthday. Both her and my grandpa, either of whom really eat Indian food, tried the chicken korma and loved it! We kept the spice super low/not at all and they didn't have any problems.
Delicious, well prepared food and hand made breadsâŠnot at all greasy, like some Indian restaurants Iâve been to. This tastes homemade, and the flavors are fresh and vibrant. The servers are also knowledgeable about what they serve and take pride in explaining the different seasonings. You donât have to like spicy food, to enjoy Indian cuisine (although I do) there is a variety of mild dishes to suit every taste. If youâve never been, do give Tanjore a try, you wonât regret it!

The food here is delicious, the server/host was very nice and promote to check in with us/fill out waters.
Food was phenomenal. The chicken was slightly dry other than that everything was great.
The lunch menu is filling, just right.
Food is delicious. Perfectly spiced. Place is clean. Portions are generous. Well priced. Staff are very friendly. Highly recommend and I will be back. Not to soon because I have enough food for 3 days from that one order.
