Creative menu options. The salmon was exceptional for being in the high desert. Wonderful service from all staff members. Fun atmosphere. Would consider it more fine dining than other locations we’ve visited in Flagstaff. On our list to visit again.
Brannon , our waiter was excellent. He was prompt, engaging and knows the menu. Thanks a nice evening. The Mac and Cheese was delicious. The mushroom risotto was excellent.
If anything could be improved it would be the wine. Our wine needed to chilled. Will definitely be back next time we make it to Flagstaff.
Drove up from the city to meet friends vacationing in Flagstaff for dinner. The food was amazing ( I got the Fillet and it was delish) and it was the perfect environment to catch up with friends and talk for a few hours. Thanks to the staff too! They let us stay there while they cleaned and shut down for the night. I would drive up to eat there again when we want a break from the heat! Highly recommend!
Perfectly duck confit on my Mac and cheese wife was very happy with her steak and the spatzle had a great flavor. Service was very good.

We come to Flagstaff quite a bit and have yet to run into this gem. The food was excellent. Cooked perfectly. Owners are very accommodating and the service impeccable.
We had a fantastic evening at Tinderbox Kitchen tonight. The food was on point, the environment is was nice, and the service was lovely! Maura was fun and engaging without stopping us from enjoying our meals! We will definitely be back.

I stopped in for dinner on a work trip by my self. They were very welcoming! I enjoyed a few delicious drinks and some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had !
Perfect birthday dinner! Scott Heinonen is a world-class chef! The duck breast with cous-cous and duck confit with cherries was perfectly prepared. We really enjoyed the charcuterie board of special meats and cheeses. My husband says the scallops were the best he's ever eaten and we just got back from Hawaii where he tried scallops too. Highly recommend the Tinderbox Kitchen if you're in Flagstaff!
On a trip to California, we stayed overnight in Flagstaff and found the Tinderbox. We had a fabulous meal, starting with the pork belly and blue cheese grits for an appetizer, followed by jalepeno Mac n cheese with duck. My spouse had the cauliflower soup and the shrimp and grits. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. On our return home to Missouri we visited them again.

Had dinner at the Tinderbox last Sunday night and it was amazing!! Had the steak dinner, and my mouth is watering thinking about it a week later! Our server, Tess, was one of the best servers we have ever had at any restaurant. She is a true professional!

The service was beyond amazing and good was perfect. I could not have asked for a better meal. The atmosphere is wonderful and I left wanting to go back and try the rest of the menu. Thank you for giving us the most amazing dinner to celebrate such a special weekend.

The service was excellent and the dinner was incredible! The Brie plate and the foie gras was amazing, and the lobster entree was the best dinner I’ve had in a long time. My boyfriend had the venison and said it was amazing! They only thing we wouldn’t recommend is the duck fat fritters, they were just OK (it was more of a glorified hush puppy). Other than that, this place is amazing for a date night, or just to spoil yourself. 10/10 would recommend!
Date night! I probably screwed up by making dinner reservations when we just wanted cocktails and appetizers. Not sure how the bar seating works. It was full when we arrived. Wait staff was super attentive, food and drinks were great. I really enjoyed the “Down the Hatch” cocktail. Spice was so subtle it was very refreshing. Try it if you are in town!
Finally had the pleasure of dining here—after leaving Flagstaff over a decade ago, we found ourselves back in town looking for a romantic dinner spot. We remembered Tinderbox, and I'm super glad we chose this place. The cocktails were on point, even if the menu is a bit daunting (thankfully, the waitstaff are great translators). We ordered a couple shared plates that were yummy, but the star of the evening was the half crispy duck. Every bite was packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, and presented beautifully. Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for fine dining in Flagstaff.
The food is amazing. Try the drink Down The Hatch, it's one of the best drinks I've had. The service was very nice making sure we had everything we needed while being very personable and not overbearing. Definitely check this place out.
Had an amazing dining experience here. My wife and I came in for our anniversary dinner and tried several things on the menu. Everything was perfect! The drinks were amazing and the food is some of the best you can find in Flagstaff. Definitely recommend the pork belly appetizers! FYI, you need to make reservations to get in.
We love to go here for special events. The food is exceptionally great and the service has always been attentive to detail. My favorite dish was the crispy duck, which was perfectly cooked, juicy and crisp, paired with inventive sides that enhanced the beauty of the presentation. Every time we go there are new items to try and I've never been disappointed. Great place, and we look forward to more great times there.
