Been able to visit a few times when I’m passing through Flagstaff, and each time has been amazing. Martanne’s has a really special place in my heart, as I ate there weekly while going to grad school. But Casa Duarte is just as great - maybe Flag’s best kept secret. Having been there a few times, I’ve been able to try a lot of the menu and everything I’ve had is delicious. Of course the Maryanne’s breakfast items are great and it’s served all day. The tamales are flavorful and moist - something that is sometimes hard to find. The tacos are also delicious with handmade tortillas - they even haves vegetarian tacos for my friend. Not just beans but seitan tacos. The horchata is refreshing. The desserts are bomb too. The Mexican donuts are soooo good but my absolute favorite thing is their deep fried ice cream sundae. It’s so unhealthy but worth all the calories. I can’t wait until my next trip through Flag so I can eat here again.

Best Sonoran food in Northern Arizona - and Happy Hour is totally worthy with tacos, ceviche, authentic salsa and great deals on drinks not to mention all-day breakfast straight from Martanne's menu - Tina rocks for making a great local hangout where you don't need to brave downtown or downtown parking !!!!!!!!

We showed up 10 minutes before close and ordered food to go. Servers were very accommodating and friendly. I had the shrimp tacos as they were recommended by the server and I thoroughly enjoyed them! The shrimp and cabbage were crispy and just what I was looking for in a taco. Had some horchata too, which was also delicious. I will definitely be going back!

I have been there twice. First time it took awhile to get our food but it was very good. Second time we went, we got served right away and food was excellent. I would recommend this place to eat.

Omg! Amazing food & portions, kid friendly, great service & selection, and lovely atmosphere. Had the carne asada and it was a thick & juicy cut. This place is delicious.

Awesome food! If Martannes is too slammed check this place out for breakfast too as they have many of your Martannes favorites here as well.

Truly enjoyed the food here at Cafe Duarte. I chose a ceviche tostada because I'd never had one before - it was delicious! The margaritas were great- not too sweet, which is how I like mine. Love the plethora of salsas to choose from. Service was great. Food came out quickly and hot! And the restaurant is classically beautiful. I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm in Flagstaff.

We found this gem just searching for restaurants nearby. It’s a nice, casual vibe. It was a busy Friday night but we were accommodated quickly. Food was excellent! Friendly staff. The salsa bar was good but could use some flair. It looked like what I could get at a fast food place. At night, the parking lot is pretty dark in this area of the strip mall.

This is a beautiful restaurant the atmosphere is great. The food is amazing and you can tell they take pride in what they do. We don't have mexican food like that where I live. Its classy upscale but a good price.

Get away from Martanne’s and head here. Similar menu and same delicious fair. Friendly staff. Quiet crowd where you can have a great convo and listen to others. Horchata is always amazing. Huge portions. Worth it. Dog friendly small patio

5 reviews 4.0 star rating 10/9/2017 I am giving Casa Duarte only 4 stars not due to the quality or taste of the food, but due to the extremely poor service we received. Casa Duarte is a very cute place, great atmosphere, nice decor, but it is a "seat yourself" place. That's all good, except, you never know who your server is and I'm not sure they know either. We sat down and after about 5 minutes were brought water. After another 5 minutes, we were brought menus. After about 15 more minutes our server (Eileen) came to take our drink orders. By this time we were ready to order. We gave her our drink orders, requested a basket of chips (additional $2.25 charge) and ordered our meals. I ordered the Cyndi G, which is a green chili pork pozole with 2 fried eggs on top. My husband had the Volcanoe, which is the Chiliquiles with the addition of Green Chili pork and a fried egg. On one other occasion, we had the Jerry El Mujericco, which is spicy green Chili pork with an enchilada with a fried egg. Everything comes with beans, rice, hash browns and a tortilla. The Cyndi and the Jerry are excellent. The Volcanoe was ok, but did not stand a chance against the other 2 meals. I give the food 5 stars. So back to the service. Once our server took our order, we waited and waited and waited. I requested a straw from her once as she passed by, and gosh, she threw me 5 of them. Well needless to say, I advised her I really only needed 1, so the next time around she came back and retrieved the other 4. Our drinks and chips never came. Another server finally brought out our food...still no drinks or chips. Eileen finally came by and brought the drinks and chips, after our food came. Geez, I really prefer my chips before the meal, but okay..... As I said, food is really outstanding, no qualms there. After we were done, plates set aside, just hanging out, guess what? Yep, no check.....wait, wait, wait. Now I'm watching how she is handling other tables that appear to be hers...the same way. Other patrons in the restaurant that got the luck of the draw and got another server are taken care of promptly, so I am guessing she is either new or out of sorts this day. She brings our bill, I review and put my card out and wait. Finally someone else comes by and picks up the ticket and my card. Our server brings it back and just says "I'm sorry, I did my best". Humm, not sure how to take that, maybe this is not the right line of work for her.

LOVE this place. Best breakfast ever!! They are the same as Martanne’s without the crazy lines (same owners I think). Love the decor and salsa bar and always love the Jerry (can u say amazing sour cream breakfast enchilada) and the Posole for breakfast with eggs over easy!! Today just tried the “Mimosa by the Bottle” wow a whole bottle of champagne and then u can add your own mixers. Today was mango, strawberry, oj, and I think papaya? Anyways amazing. Can’t say enough good things about this local flagstaff gem.

Amazing food and drinks for the whole family!! We brought our 10 & 7 yr old in for a quick bite and were blown away... the bacon wrapped shrimp, ceviche, and tacos are spot on! The dining room is a little small --- so get there early for a great booth seat. The El Ray Margarita is my new favorite...WOW! Thanks Casa Duarte... we will be back very soon for sure...with FRIENDS!
