One of the best breakfast place I have ever been to. I always have a great time eating food with my family here and eating amazing food at the same time. Keep it up!
Just good, everyone can find something to eat. Refills free, great desserts ( strawberry cake yummy). Breakfast can’t go wrong. Just a good place to go
Delicious. Southern food for the city folk is their motto and let me verify that they never disappoint. The blue plate special is as southern as it gets; meat/sides/roll etc... I've had the fried chicken and catfish fillets before and have been very pleased. Another one of my favorite things is the fact they serve breakfast all day. The pancakes are a crowd favorite every time we go.
This place serves southern food like no other. I love the lunch specials, great blue plate place. Friendly people and great service. I will be back here soon.
This is a great southern cafe and bakery. They have a great shrimp remoulade salad, great plate lunch, and many other tasting offerings. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to go for a slice of one of their layer cakes.. Strawberry, Italian cream, coconut..take your pick. They are all made like my momma's! True praise from a southerner.
If you ever get a craving for some great tasting, smooth & creamy, true southern grits.....go to Primos! I guarantee you will not be disappointed. All I need is a large bowl of cheese grits, one scrambled egg plus sausage and I'm absolutely satisfied. I believe the Flowood, Jackson & surrounding area would agree with me since they're always busy. But they still manage to deliver fast and friendly service with good food which equals a pleasant dining experience! I'm a loyal customer for life.

In town on business and stopped in for lunch. The blue plate special was chicken & dumplings so I had it with mac & cheese and fried broccoli. Everything was good, especially the mac & cheese. It's the kind your mom used to make in the oven. Not the powdered cheese fake stuff. Also, make sure you try their strawberry cake. It's awesome! You put a plate on top of your head with a slice of that on it and your tongue will beat your brains out trying to get to it!
Service was slow, to the point we thought our order was lost. We didn't bring it to the staff's attention but they insisted on making it up to us by comping us desserts. Kudos! Really the only complaint for the visit was a number of empty tables were dirty which made it difficult to choose a place to sit.
Every time I have dined here it has been wonderful. Employees are smiling, it's clean, and the food is GREAT! My order has never been incorrect and the wait times are never very long. Love the blue plates, lone eagle, and strawberry cake! Keep up the great work!
The. Best. Breakfast. Around. --their grits are delish, the pancakes worth every calorie, the biscuits awesome. Their muffins are also incredible. And don't overlook the other baked goods--cookies, brownies, cakes--yum! Their caramel cake is the real deal!!
Closet thing to a real poboy. The Biloxi Press is the closest thing I have found here to a shrimp poboy-it is very tasty and the potato salad is delicious. The red velvet cake is cracktastic, as is the twisted donut thingies they have in the mornings. This place is always packed and there is a reason-it's good stuff!!!
One of our favorite places!. We recently returned to the Primo's cafe in Flowood on a Saturday night hoping to have another great yet reasonably priced dinner. It was as great as the first time! I had the hamburger steak dinner, my husband had the fried chicken blue plate special + my daughter had chicken strips. The chicken was moist + tender + my hamburger steak was fantastic! The food arrived hot + fast + the young man that delivered it to us was courteous. He also made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. We were really hoping to have dessert but noone had room! Maybe next time!
Dependable good food, Breakfast or Hot Place Special. Primo's is one of my favorite places to eat. For breakfast, I have the Blueberry Pancakes with bacon. I sometimes over indulge and add a side of scrambled eggs and cheese grits, which are both delicious. The cheese grits at Primo's are legendary. The eggs, I believe, are whipped with heavy cream or whole milk to make them very fluffy. Most of the hot plate specials are very good. I like the tilapia, pecan chicken, mushroom chicken, roasted chicken, fried chicken and the turkey and dressing. I also like the roasted potatoes, fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, butter peas, mac and cheese, turnip greens, squash casserole, Sautéed squash, fried okra and the butter carrots for the sides. I do not like the cabbage, black eyed peas, or the spaghetti and meatballs.The managers and staff are always friendly. You can't beat the quality (not so greasy and overly salty) along with the price!
Good food. I had the Gumbo and the prime rib sandwich both were very good. Service was great. You order at the counter and them they bring it to you. I sat at the bar area and saw all of the different dish all looked to be very good. The BLT seemed to be ordered a good bit.

Was a bit taken aback by the long line to the counter.... Found a table 1st & had our daughter wait there. The cashier seemed confused by our order & did not enter a chicken sandwich we ordered BUT the food did not disappoint! Gumbo, black & blue salad, chicken pot pie, fried green tomato blt & lemon ice box pie were all amazing! Nice servers & friendly atmosphere. A bit less than inspired decor, but clean & had old black & white photos from the 40s... Would recommend this Place!
Crowded,but worth the wait. Having visitied Jackson since a child and now living in the area, I do miss the "sit down and order" Primos. The food is,however, still wonderful.Try the seafood creole salad or Pop"s shrimp salad for an unusual dish. Love it. Caramel cake is famous.
After driving for hours, my wife and I find Primos Cafe and say what the heck? Let's try it. Thank goodness we did! The food was not fancy, in fact, we both liked the basic nature of hamburger steak and the fixins. Overall, the hamburger steaks were cooked perfectly with a very good light gravy that had a nice onion flavor. Real potatoes and nice salad topped off the meal. Wait, I forgot the red velvet cake and petit fours... Wow.... try this place! You will like it! I am going to have the hamburger next time I go in!
Really good. Had the black and blue salad tonight with the red velvet cake for dessert. Both excellent. I have always had good food and great service. Daily lunch plates are usually pretty good but very busy at lunch hour.
Don't eat here a lot but..,. When I do I mostly enjoy it. Inlove a good burger an this one is a winner.
Classic, Gourmet, Southern. How could you not LOVE Primos Cafe.. over 1/2 the employees have been here for over 30 years. It's one big family, everyone makes you feel so welcome, it's clean and the food is exceptional!! Everything I have ever ordered has been great! Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner ~ True Southern Grits to Pop's Shrimp Salad to Gourmet hot Poboys!!! It's a one stop Southern Food joint for Mississippi City Folks!
Great Stop. I love to take the girls in for a doughnut. It's always a winner. If you need a little old school, grab yourself a ginger bread man.

Breakfast at primos is the best around. Gotta try the cheese grits. Other food is good too, but you HAVE to go for breakfast
First time to eat there and it was very good. The vegetables were incredible and the caramel cake makes you want to slap your mamma!
If you were to imagine a new, comfortable, can I say hip version of the old, this would be it. Perfect. Great food that is from tradition. Part of the heart and soul of Jackson for as long as I have been passing through.
I have really enjoyed getting to know Primos Café over the course of my life. This place has been family owned and operated in Jackson for over 80 years (82 to be exact!)
Great food. The bakery is what really stands out here. Cool diner feel with incredible desserts. My omelette had a few wrong ingredients but they gladly made me another.
Mom loves to eat here. I recently stopped for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast bowl. I would definitely eat it again!
This was a great place for breakfast. I really like the restaurants like this where you order at the front counter and then sit down to eat. I ordered the chicken honey biscuit with a side of butter grits. The fried chicken was crispy and good. The biscuit was tasty. I'm not a fan of grits but these were pretty tasty. Although my motto is everything is better with hot sauce. So, if there would have been a bottle of hot sauce on the table, for sure I would have put some on and expect the grits may have been great. The atmosphere was really nice, open, and airy.
Food is great, 5 Star. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all good southern style cooking. Typically very friendly staff. So why the missing 2 stars? The past three pick-up orders were missing items. If the rating was based solely on dine in it would be a sold 5 Stars. They need to do a better job of checking orders. Thanks for the reply Primos. Appreciate you reviewing accuracy with your staff. Will add the last star after a couple of correct take outs.
Dined during a busy lunch rush on a Saturday. Good fast service and surprisingly tasty food for a quick service type of diner. Spaghetti special was pretty good. Had the green beans and fried okra which were ok. Definitely enjoyed the meal, and would come back.
One of my favorite restaurants in the Jackson area for a blue plate special. I love their breakfast (available all day) and their blue plate chicken and dumplings. You really can’t go wrong here. I highly recommend getting the biscuit (available all day too) instead of the roll or corn bread. You can also order some of their famous cakes as a dessert or to-go. They have very friendly service.

We were in a hurry so we ordered from their take out side . The also have an excellent dine-in side! The service was fast and very accurate! Their daily Blue Plate Specials are Wonderful and I absolutely Love the variety of vegetables available everyday!
