Mario's in Forest City provides AUTHENTIC Italian food! The owners are wonderful people and work very hard to prepare your order just as you like it. The fish platter was Absolutely delicious with a scampi sauce, and my husband's shrimp marinara sauce was better than my own. This is a perfect place for a special family dinner,
or holiday get-together. You need to leave room for the spumoni truffle dessert. It's to die for!
The food was fabulous......Alba our server was a gem......would definitely recommend !!!
Amazing food and service!! Alba and Mario are the best and they love their customers. The food was delicious, homemade Italian salad dressing, made to order food and delicious desserts! Very happy with my lunch and will definitely be returning!

This was our first time ever there, but it will not be our last. The eggplant plant parmigiana was so good, the sauce was just right. The Lasagna was great also. Everything was very hot when serviced. Our waitress was so sweet. Our favorite thing was the spumoni truffle for dessert. You have to try it!
I would like to point out that most of the reviews are from people that have actually eaten at the establishment and are positive whereas the all of the bad ones are from friend/acquaintances of the EVICTED ANGRY TENANT (that resided for less than a week at the apartment) to ruin the name of a good, Christian, hardworking man. Please come to this restaurant and meet the owners. Mario’s Restaurant is a great establishment with delicious Italian food and a friendly atmosphere.
When you come you will see that all the bad “racist” comments are false. I am saddened that in this day and age lowly people harass honest and decent individuals and seem to get away with it.
First time customer. Carryout order to bring home to stressed wife working overtime. The food was Excellent (Fettuccine Carbonara & Stuffed Shells w/Meat Sauce) The food was prepared and packaged very neatly with great care and the price was very reasonable for a Hot, Fresh Meal for 2, about $26.00. Included 2 very fresh salads with a good variety of veggies and a generous side of garlic bread. We are looking forward to dining in - in the near future. Sunday's all you can eat buffet is the best! The food is delicious and you definitely get your money's worth, but don't go unless you're HUNGRY!

The food is good. The owner's wife is the only server. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food. They have hired more kitchen help, so maybe a little faster next time. My friends loved their lasagna and their seafood dish. My hot wings were tiny and over-cooked.... literally the size of my fork! I will go back, but will not order the hot wings again, which were a joke..
Very good homemade itialin food . Everything is homemade, you may wait a few on certain items due to they cook to order, but if your with friends or family the time you wait can be filled with great convo time with some appetizers . I definitely will go back!

Amazing real Italian restaurant! We ordered the chicken parm which my husband loved! Also ordered the cheese ravioli which was amazing also! We had dessert tiramisu and REAL cheese cake and both were so good! This place is the real deal and you will not be disappointed!!!!
Authentic Italian food! Italian is my favorite. I have ate at many Italian restaurants and this one is by far the best. Friendly, casual atmosphere. A true hidden gem in Forest City. The real deal.

We went for the first time last week while we were visiting family. The food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. We were treated like we were regular customers or friends. We WILL definitely go back when we are in town!
This was our 2nd time eating here. Last time was about 3 yrs ago at the beginning of covid.
I would advise folks to expect to be here for a few hours. It is a Mom and Pop run restaurant that serves authentic Italian. Service is slower, but the meal always comes out hot and fresh. If you are in a rush, go somewhere else.
I plan to try their Sunday buffet and get a taste of other items on the menu.

What a wonderful little gem!! Delicious, home cooked Italian food. Everything was really good, the owners were so friendly. I had the shrimp Parmesean which was one of the best I've had and my husband ordered the ribeye. Will definitely be back as a regular.
