First trash experience I've had at this location. They've decided not to give you a fork with your cups when you first pay. Instead you have to get them after your food is cooked... which would have been fine, but the guy in front of me took the last one. I asked the lady up front after she finished ringing someone up and told me she'd get clean forks in just a moment... Then she proceeded to checkout 3 more groups while the girlfriend, her daughter, and I stood there waiting as our food got cold. I then asked one of the other employees walking past and he told me if I needed utensils to grab some chopsticks behind the the cashier. While I can certainly use chopsticks, they cannot. Also, I had a plate of sauce drenched crab... nearly impossible to pickup with chopsticks. After a total of ten minutes waiting I grabbed three sets of chopsticks because clearly nobody who works here cares. After the three of us struggled to eat with chopsticks for another 10 minutes, I hailed another employee walking past and asked for three forks. They never returned. After returning to line and getting a second bowl, I got to the end and there were two forks. I grabbed both and sat down so we could finally eat a bowl of hot food. When fished I purposely set the forks aside and stacked the plates so they could be taken and the forks left. Returned after our third bowl and they took the forks from the other side of the table where I put them. I walked back up to the grill to ask for forks AGAIN, this time the cashier was just on her phone playing some game and she stomped off like I was asking the world of her. Nah. I'm out. And honestly, I won't be back. Trash customer service. Also... the manager might wanna talk to their employees. There's clearly some drama going on. One employee told another one to F off at the grill and everytime one walked past our table they were stomping and talking smack about another employee. Fix yourselves. Also, what is this McDonald's? Why is your ice cream machine broke? Ugh.

I have to say... I was quite impressed with this very unique experience. This restaurant is like an express hibachi grill. You select what you want in it by placing items into various bowls, drop a combination of sauces of your choosing, and take it right over to the grill to be prepared. The wait staff was friendly and attentive as well.

I have been fairly regular at Huhot in Fort Collins old town for the past 9-10 years. Wasn’t able to go for the past year or so due to COVID related restrictions and all. The facelift and all is good but for the first time in my tens of visits I was really disappointed. Never have I ever felt so unwelcome at this place before. I went in with a couple of friends. I know the restaurant closes at 8:00 PM. We were there at about 7:30. I have always done two rounds and that’s what I was aiming for. As I got to the grill with my bowls, they were already beginning to close everything down. The sauces were being taken away while we were still preparing our meal. We ate the first round of food and when we went back for the second, 3/4 of the grill was already turned off and they had started cleaning. Small part was still being used. However, if you have a grill 10 feet wide and 3/4th has heaters turned off, the remaining 1/4th is not going to do much of cooking. The food looked like what’s in the photos. Sauces and oil and broths were still pouring like a soup, the egg was hardly done, the rice was sticky and slightly undercooked. The first bowl was “barely cooked” and “poured” in the plate and second one was then added to the grill. By the time the second unintended soup and sticky fried rice was poured in the plate the first one was almost as cold as it could get. I was disappointed.
So, I called for the manager. And I expressed my dissatisfaction. I told them if it’s too late at 7:30 to enter for you to close at 8:00 you should lock your entrance. The manager said - we do. So I showed the food and said the food is barely cooked. I couldn’t finish eating uncooked noodles and rice and neither could my friends. The manager asked what can I do to help? I said, I expect a better experience in the future I guess. The manager says, okay. Thank you. And walks away. Completely cold. So on my way out I go to the ice cream machine and they don’t have any cone or bowls for the ice cream. At that point I didn’t have anything to really say. Just walked away extremely disappointed.
My two cents from my own experience working in restaurants. There is a reason it’s called the hospitality industry. I would much rather go and have the old decor with their old courteous staff than a better decor and less than satisfactory staff. Hope this was one bad experience and not a new norm at this place.
PS - 1 of the 2 stars is residue from my past good experiences.

We haven't been to a Hu Hot in over 10 years and it used to be our favorite spot. So when we saw this location while traveling, it was a no brainer to stop for lunch. We got 2 bowls to go, filled them up, watched the grill chef, added our choice of toppings, and headed outside to eat (since the weather was perfect). Sooo good! Just as good as we remembered it being all those years ago! We love the variety and being able to chose exactly what you want in your bowl and then playing "mixologist" with the sauces.

Super fair pricing and the food is as good as you make it :D they have a lot of options to add to a variety of noodles and they have a TON of sauces :O

HuHot is one of the best restaurants I've been to. Me and my boyfriend always go here and their steak with any sauce you pick is to die for. No matter what combination of food you want with the sauce that you want, you'll never be disappointed. It's all you can eat too for not too much, money wise. They also have these chow mein sticks that are so good with the meal as well, and free ice cream with your grill meal. They cook it right in front of you, which I've never experienced until I've gone there. Such an amazing food place.

Our first time coming here for years and we're disappointed in the new atmosphere. It doesn't seem as intimate and classy as it was before. It's all serve yourself and it doesn't feel the same. The food is still amazing but not what we were expecting since it's changed so much. Not a good place for a date night. Might not come back because of that.

Ate there for lunch. A lot of options on buffet. A hot lunch on a cold day blends very well. I filled up 2 bowls of what I wanted to eat and a separate bowl for sauce. Surprisingly, the grilling team added my sauce right when they started to grill my 2 filled bowls. Sauces should be added at the end of grilling my meats and veggies.
Turned out too blend with no flavors and did not taste too good. I was disappointed. So 2 *s.
If youre planning on visiting, I'd remind them of adding sauces later to enjoy the flavors. Good luck ppl.

Love this place. I like spicy hot food and I can get it here. Four ladels of the Khan's Revenge in a bowl of food is my idea of hot heaven on earth. I will drive from Greeley to Fort Collins just to eat here!

Love HuHot, but this visit was very disappointing....not super busy, took 10 minutes before a server showed up....that was after another waitress standing behind me hollered to another waitress that we were her table. The waitress who assisted us, forgot several items we had ordered.....then when we asked for 2 hot waters, brought two..then took one away because the cup was dirty...but never came back with a clean 2nd cup. Pretty bad experience...usually awesome!

We were just driving down college and we looked over and it looked really busy, and even though they were really busy
The wait staff were really friendly and courteous and it didn't take long to get our soup and we didn't have to wait inline to pick out our ingredients with that being said this is a great place to eat we walked in it smelled great the staff was wonderful and it was very interesting and very entertaining we had fun picking out all of our ingredients to throw on the grill and it was fast and everybody there was wonderful we had a great time I highly suggest trying it out!!!

I like, actually love the food! My only problem is; is the bar does not serve a full menu. I don't drink wine, saki, or beer, but they don't serve anything else. Which is a huge bummer, because i love ameretto sours!

My favorite restaurant in Fort Collins. The food is fresh and cooked right in front of you. Our server was a bit off her game last night but another server stepped up and made sure we were taken care of. I Love being able to experiment and create new flavors and food combinations at HuHot

I ended up with food poisoning after eating there. I do not think that they cooked the food long enough. This is the only HuHot that does not add water to the food that does not have enough cooking sauces. I won't go back.

Hair in the raw chicken! Told server and was not reimbursed, Rude bus boy! Unfortunately we will not be going back!! All of us had tummy problems after eating there!!!

I loved the food and the restaurant itself... It was busy but that just makes sense cause of the location and the type of restaurant it is...

This place is definitely going downhill. It was once my favorite but now I doubt I will return. The quality and options for the food line were deplorable, and other aspects left much to be desired . They also no longer have comment cards, as if to highlight their lack of interest in quality service.

Good stir fry, we only wanted and ate one plate, but couldn't take food home. What a waste!!! I can understand if we had seconds. But just one run through, let us take it please!!!!

Very disappointed. My wife and I went on January 2nd and hoping to enjoy some Mongolian. We went to get bowls to fill with food and every single bowl was dirty. Absolutely disgusting.

Currently my favorite place to eat, now if only they had mango as an option everyday. Seems like I hardly see it anymore. So glad they have an app now for rewards too!

I love all the choices of meat and fresh vegetables. Sauces make each plate special. Cooks do a great job and appear to enjoy their jobs.
