I never usually find it important to leave bad reviews. I found this experience warranted one though.
I am from Phoenix and we are pretty serious about our Mexican food there. That being said I am in general not horribly picky.

I've never had Mexican food this bland. The only reason it's not a one star is the food was fast. The mole was definitely more gravy, the salsa was Campbell tomato soup with spices. The rice and chicken had minimal flavor or seasoning. I definitely won't be back.
I feel so torn about El Burrito. Coming here felt like stepping into the Fort Collins of the past. Hundreds of old pictures of patrons from the 80s lined the walls and a variety of large empty dining rooms had a romantic feel. There was a hominess to it and I was ready to like it.

We have been enjoying El Burrito for 40+ years. They have the absolute best 👌 Mexican cuisine available in the Fort Collins area. The family that owns/runs this business is awesome. They are friendly and very much appreciated.
If you want authentic Mexican food, El burrito is your only choice. If you want some fancy idea of Mexican food this isn't the place for you. I've been eating at El Burrito over 50 years. I have eaten at other restaurants, but none are authentic.
The tortilla chips are the most flavorful thing here.
The chips were good, the salsa...tasted like tomato sauce with some peppers. Not a good start.
The food was bland. Frankly, you could get more seasoning and flavor from a Taco Bell.

The best place around for home town food and amazing sopapillas . Always a good go to spot for the family or quick lunch
