Nice stop in the middle of nowhere. No frills local eatery featured by National Geographic writer more than 20 years ago! (It's been excerpted in the menu.) Simple hometown decor and menu. We were first customers at 7 a.m. on a Sunday. Same women waited & cooked (I'm thinking that was Angie.) Decent juevos rancheros but not the best I've had. GREAT country fried chicken-steak special with 2 eggs. Also had the famous salsa. It was fantastic. A tad spicy but very tasty and not at all too hot except for the most mild of palates. Only thing I didn't like was our waitress/cook was also the cashier. When I handed her $25 for a $19.95 bill she failed to give me change while automatically giving herself a 25% tip! I didn't bother protesting. It was close to Christmas anyway--Happy holidays. (But next time, Ang, I'll take the change and decide on what tip I'll leave!)
Angies is great.. Were a touring band from brooklyn (and im a native arizonian). We almost missed this place on oiur drive from Austin to Phoenix, but luckily we didnt. They serve both American and Mexican, but after the awesome chips and salsas (housemade salsa and Chile de Arbol hotsauce), we went the Mexican route. Between the 5 of us we had the cheese enchiladas, chicken enchiladas, red chile pork plate, chicken flautas and beef tacos. Everything was delicious, and we found out was cooked by Angie herself. Our waitress so amazingly nice. They offer vegetarian options and also are aware of cooking for vegans. All around this place was a great find. If you find yourself in their neck of texas stop in.
Nice little restaurant in small little Dinkytown. I was snowed in and down there for a couple hours so I guess that beat their the food was great.
Always look forward to having meals here. Hubby's favorite is chicken enchilada with red sauce and I ordered crispy beef taco plate. Service is prompt, meals served hot and delicious! I recommend this place.
When im driving my tractor trailer around the country, I like to find a restaurant and skip the fast food stops. They have lots of truck parking . The food was really delicious and the coffee hot. I really enjoyed my lunch. The atmosphere was very inviting , I plan to stop again my next time I'm in the area.
This is a diamond in the rough! I’ll be making it a point to stop here and eat every time I pass through. The absolute best breakfast burrito and an amazing pancake 🥞! I can’t tell you in words how delicious our breakfast was this morning.
You’ll definitely want to eat here. Highly recommend.
This lady sure knows how to make you feel like your mother just made you lunch! Great food at a low cost and very nice people all around
This place is a gem. The pancakes will make your drive delicious and tolerable again! Of you need a break from the long drive then stop here - you don't have to be hungry. Just eat here!!!
The pancakes were blissful. They taste like comfort and joy, COMFORT AND JOYYYY! The bacon is very merry and so where the people. Stop in if you're in the area; even if it isn't Christmas.
Always a good home cooked meal. My favorite eatery east of El Paso.
Try the red chili (chili rojo). Perfect
