La Trattoria Napoli, Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers,Fl. Here is my 2 cents and chit chat.
This is such a gem.
I order a cup of wedding day soup, got free garlic bread and Espnol Taver-Galican Style. A sandwich of chorizo, pork, bolo ham, mozzrella cheese. With a chilled pasta salad.
I did not know what any of this was.
AAhhh but I do know it tantalize my taste buds. It made me such a happy trooper.
The crunchy toasted roll ,the aioli and combination the other ingredients.
The wedding soup was meatballs, beans and pasta. Mildly salty but that was me. I should have gotten the bowl. So delish!
So good. The mix of italian and spanish cuisine explains the crowd of folks as I left.
Service was outstanding. Though a bit pricey for lunch , well worth it.
This place was absolutely amazing the food, music and service were beyond excellent. We just about all the Tapas items and had dessert. The owner came to our table and since we were obviously fans of country music the the was we were dressed had the musician play a variety of awesome old country music. We were treated with just the right amount of attention and the food came out at a wonderful pace. Once one item was done gave a bit of time and the next came. Dessert was a great surprise. The location in a strip mall with a tacky massage parlor, take out Chinese and less then appealing tattoo shop added to the gem in the hole in the wall effect.
Lovely little hole in the wall. Got the chorizo pizza and the chicken empanadas - both amazing! Very dead on a off season Friday lunch but wait staff was great.
The restaurant is not where you would expect the quality that we found. You step into a different place, a different ambiance than the exterior. Sort of "don't judge a book by its cover." It is a nice casual place - very nice, but not elegant. The food was delicious - very tasty, indeed - and very nicely presented. And, the wine we had was smooth and rich in flavor. Definitely worth a visit.
Food was as good as anything I've had in Italy or Spain. Sat at the bar and had great service from Gina. Catch of the day was so fresh and recommend the sevillana sauce. Keyboard guy was so good -- really added to the ambiance. A little hard to find in a strip mall but inside is so charming. Don't miss it!!
Super savory. Met friends at LTCN 5pm after a Sox game at Jet Blue Park. Local traffic was horrific, but what else is not to like about this unassuming spot with an inviting atmosphere and giant flavors. The tapas selections were well prepared, presented and delicious. The bl. grouper and red snapper entrees, stuffed raviolis and veal marsala were super savory. All dinners were served simultaneously to the respective diner without hesitation. Deserts were outstanding. We lucked out with an evening of fine dining!
Amazing!. Don't let the outside of this place fool you because the inside is a warm and inviting space with mouth watering food and a great wait staff! I was visiting Fort Meyers for the day and after reading many reviews on restaurants in the area we settled on Gloria's for dinner. My boyfriend and I decided to sit at the bar rather than a table and we were greeted immediately. Our server was super friendly and very attentive. We chose a couple of appetizers to start, the stuffed plums and stuffed artichokes. The plums were tender and bursting with flavor, delicious! The artichokes melt in your mouth, another great choice! Next came our caesar salad complete with fresh anchovies on top. Great salad and nice size for sharing between two. For our main entree we went with the Truffled Cheese Sacchetti topped with the Caprichosa sauce. The pasta was made from scratch melt in your mouth and out of this world!!! We then decided to finish this wonderful meal with a piece of homemade tiramisu. Wow! Delicious!! Overall this restaurant was great from start to finish and I would highly recommend!
Wow! What a great little spot for Italian that's NOT a chain! You can really taste homemade flavor in the food. Don't come here and expect noodles drowning in sauce. The food has actual authentic italian flair which means fresh tomatoes, and semi-sweet desserts. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the interior is charming and cozy and the food is excellent!
Hidden Gem. Outstanding restaurant. Could be my new favorite in Ft. Myers. The pasta with their meat sauce was off the charts good. Had it twice in one week. Seafood amazing too. This is a keeper ... I will be back next year in my Fla travels.
Our favorite new find. We come to Ft Myers every year in December. Last year my friends discovered this place and insisted we had to go back so I could try it, and I'm so glad we did. This is easily the best place we've found in Ft. Myers so far. It's an unassuming little spot in a tiny group of shops and not easily seen from the road. It's small, intimate, nicely decorated with two dining areas and bar. The colors, lighting and mood are all very comfortable. The service was warm and friendly.
We started with calamari which had a nice spicy kick and the bacon wrapped/stuffed plums were as good as everyone says! (We ended up getting two orders). Two of us had the catch of the day Grouper in the salsa verde sauce and every bite was pure pleasure. Two of us had the mahi mahi with shellfish and both loved it. This place has been there for about 8-9 years so they have stood the test of time and we will definitely be back every time we come to Ft. Myers.
12/15; We LOVE Gloria's and have been coming back here every year for the last 3 years when we are in Estero. This year I was on my honeymoon with my wife and about a dozen of our best friends were here also--they threw us the greatest dinner for a honeymoon reception. There were a couple of big groups in the place that night, but Gloria's handled it expertly--the food was all fantastic and the service was excellent. We have nothing but superb memories of our visits here.
Sept 2013 even better now than 3 yr ago.neighborhood gem. Owner on prem.food made from scratch
Fantastic. After reading the reviews of other diners on urbanspoon, I decided to try La Trattoria Cafe Napoli. It was a wonderful experience! The service, the meal, the wine and dessert (coconut flan was out of this world!) were fantastic!! I can not wait to go again!!! And yes, you must try the stuffed plums! Yummy!
What a treat! I also felt like I wasn't even in Fort Myers! If you love mussles and you love chorizo.. The chorizo is so unique and authentic.. And the prosciutto wrapped Gorgonzola plums are broiled, a must have! Cannot wait to come back and try the paella!! What a hidden gem, right here in FM!
Stuffed plums are a must have. We ordered every tapa on the menu and the only one we wouldn't order again was the calamari.
Stuffed plums a must have!. This is by far my favorite restaurant in SWFL. Doesn't hurt that it's in my neighborhood, too, so I go frequently. I am addicted to the stuffed plums, served only at dinner. Plums stuffed with gorgonzola, wrapped in prosciutto. Drizzled with raspberry sauce and pesto aioli. Marvelous things. The appetizer is 5 of these little beauties for $8. So rich, there's plenty to go around.
I'm also a huge fan of the cafe's chicken medallion dish which is flavorful beyond words.
If you're a foodie and haven't gone yet, GO! You'll be glad you did.
All four people in our party were bedazzled by perfectly prepared food that reeks of Italian authenticity. Words cannot do the food justice so I direct you to the above photographs.
Fab. The owner is fantastic, so much energy and always makes us feel welcomed. I love the menu and can't wait to try all the new tapas. You will not be disappointed.
Went here for lunch and it was really great. Would definitely go again.
Fantastic Find!. Went here with my wife for her birthday and was so impressed. In a very unassuming shopping center that one would never think a fine dining restaurant would be hidden away in. The chorizo/prosciutto/cheese tapas were excellent as was the calamari (particularly with the green sauce). My wife had the alfredo and it was quite excellent, very rich homemade flavors. I had the veal stuffed with prosciutto, which was over potatoes and had a mushroom sauce. Was so rich and delicious that I am still thinking about it days later. For what you are getting this place is a bargain.
Dessert was amazing also. The chocolate flan was the perfect texture and the canoli was so light. And I usually hate canoli. A perfect end to the meal.
Server was awesome and really made us feel at home.
Will definitely be back and can't wait!
Never wrote a review before!and they are deserving. Really I never review a restaurant or anything.Leaving in this town for long time, never have a better food and better service.Im a very busy doctor, barely have time to go out, this month we been at La trattoria cafe napole 3 times.Very good food, prepared simply and well, food is very fresh and quite tasty! Portions are good and service excellent. All at an extremely reasonable price.Vegeterian dishes are available. This place exactly makes you feel at home.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GUYS TO GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE and try it.If you are a big fan of desserts like me ,try the flan or the tiramisu...so fresh all homemade. The atmosphere is also warm and inviting decor......it has become my new go to spot in the neigborhood , every time we go founded many old friends and colleges.
Best Restaurant in Town. Food is always excellent and flavorful. The owner is very personable taking the time to visit each table. As far as the review below regarding the air conditioning, what they didn't know is that the restaurant is expanding into the building next door, so the air was down for a day to tie in the systems. Been going here weekly for 2 years and there has never been an issue with the air conditioning being off except for this expansion period.
What a surprise. Did not expect the extraordinary cuisine, expertly prepared.
A great bargain and great food. The only down side it only has 7 tables
Great food!! One of Ft Myers best kept secrets. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking to find a "locals" restaurant that serves amazing dishes.
The atmosphere in this place was nice. The restaurant decor and the table set-up was very pretty. Now let's get into the food as well as the service received. The young man by the name of Noah was our waiter he was so delightful. His personality was just amazing. Very helpful and knowledgeable when asked what he would recommend. I ordered the Caprichosa. The flavor was good i switched my pasta to linguine . The only negative thing I will say about the dish is for the. Price I should have had whole shrimp not diced shrimp that equal up to looking like three shrimp cut up. My husband ordered the seafood paella it wasn't the best he still ate anyways. THE MUSSEL had an off order I pray he doesn't get sick. The rice was hard and kinda tasted burnt and the chicken was dry and it only had two shrimp in it. The bread that came out was fresh. I also had a Cafe con leches it was not bad overall It's not a place that I would speak highly of. Everybody has their own opinion as well as different taste buds.
When my daughter brought me to this place for lunch today, I was a little apprehensive about it. It’s a small place, but has the most amazing food I have ever tried! I was truly surprised by the taste of our food when it came. We had a great waitress and lunch was beyond words! A big thank you to our waitress and to the cook! I highly recommend this restaurant, and I am sure you will not be disappointed if you go!
Amazing food. Must stop. The outside is questionable when you drive up but from start to finish was fantastic.
My date suggested this restaurant after it was reviewed as the #1 dining spot in FM. I have driven past a thousand times, would have NEVER guessed what treasures were hidden behind the bland, unnoticeable entrance. We ordered SIX tapas. Stuffed plumbs (an ABSOLUTE MUST ORDER THEY WERE BEYOND DELICIOUS), croquettes (AHH, OK), mussels with the salsa Verde (VERY SMALL, COLD, HAVE HAD BETTER), stuffed artichokes (WOULDN'T ORDER AGAIN. AS AN ITALIAN I DIDNT ENJOY THIS NEW TYPE OF CHEESE INSTEAD OF TRADITIONAL) baked goat cheese with red pepper sauce (VERY TASTY) and, I saved the best for last, the salmon carpaccio (ANOTHER ABSOLUTE MUST ORDER! MY DATE DOESN'T EAT FISH......HE HAD THREE OF THESE! THEY WERE SOO AMAZING!)I would have 100% given 5 stars but the service was lacking. Even with that said, it won't stop me from going back for seconds, thirds and so on!
Don't pass this one by.
Eat here if you are a foodie.
Already went back!!!!
Ordered the rest of the day tapa's we didn't try the first round.
The tuna picadillo (YOU MUST ORDER THIS! MOUTH WATERING!)the eggplant (FANTASTIC!) The masitas (sauce was phenomenal) and a couple we tried the first time and loved.
Everything was EXCEPTIONAL, AGAIN.
THANK YOU!!
One of the most innovative and refined meals in the region. This must be a "go to" for a SWFL visit. The quaint exterior opens to a refined celebration of food and wine. The couple who own the restaurant, the long term Chef and other front of house staff create one heck of an amazing experience!
Food was absolutely phenomenal! Hands down a hidden gem. I love my pasta and tend to be very picky with what restaurants nowadays consider "Italian Pasta" however everything from the goat cheese appetizer, to the caesar salad with the homemade dressing to the pasta and dessert was absolutely satisfying!
To make it all better staff and atmosphere was a 12/10
I highly recommend
Four of us were there. We'd read on the website that they didn't take reservations, but that's changed. They looked full, but a party of 4 was at least 30 minutes late with no call. A quick decision by the manager gave us their table.
We decided to share a bunch of tapas. We had the croquettes, mussels, stuffed artichokes, baked goat cheese, masitas, smoked salmon, garbanzos with chorizo, and the eggplant. We shared some Malbec.
There was only one chef that evening, so things were a little delayed, but we were informed right away so it wasn't an issue. Things were generally good. I had everything but the eggplant. I'm big on texture and find eggplant is usually mushy. Everything was done well, especially considering a single chef going crazy in the back.
One of our favorite places in town, the food is so delicious and unique! We have loved every dish we have ever gotten here. My husband said, "One of the best meals I have ever had."
What a hidden gem!! Came for lunch. Delicious and fresh food. Our server was excellent! The dressing on the salad was so good I asked if I could buy some, the chef came out and said yes!! The tiramisu was so fresh, best I’ve ever had! Dinner menu looks amazing. Can’t wait to come back!
I don't usually write reviews but this place was amazing! Our first time there. We were grwetwd by 3 people. The host, who was also our server, and 2 women at the bar. Our server was a young man by the name of Noyes (spelling?), very friendly, knowledgeable and professional, but not so professonal that he was "stuffy". We started with the bruchetta. You can mess up this simple appetizer but this was sooo good. I ordered the Mahi Mahi special but asked if I could swap the Mahi for Salmon and they had no problem doing that for me. It was delicious! My compliments to the chef! My husband had the Capellini Bolognes and also loved it. Not your traditional bolognese but loved it all the same. My only issue is that I didn't have room for dessert, so I got the Tirimisu to go and had it for breakfast. Made my day!!! This place is truly a great find, don't be fooled by the strip mall outside atmosphere. Reservations recommended.
