If you are looking for a fish and chips place to get some of the best in town this is the go to place! Every time I have visited it has been amazing with good food and themed with UK decor and products for sale. Their made to order fish and chicken plates are available in different portion sizes, so you can even stop in for a quick bite. I strongly recommend checking it out.
Tried today, after reading the reviews. It's as close as you'll get to British fish and chips.
I got talking to the owner, and he has perfected his product over years. You can't get maris Piper potatoes in the US, but the potatoes he does use are an almost perfect alternative. He cooks the chips twice to get that "British" taste and texture just right.
He has also spent a lot of time perfecting his mushy peas and chip shop curry sauce over many iterations (although I have yet to try) If he has applied the same fastidious attitude to those as he has his chips and battered cod I know I won't be disappointed.
I know this will be my go to "chippie" from now on for SW Florida
You know what, this place is pretty amazing. My wife and I usually go to the one near cape coral, over the bridge but today, and apparently All week, their A/C has been out. I feel bad because it looked dead.
So we decided to drive the half hour to this location and we are glad we did. The fish is juicy, well cooked. Normally I don’t use condiments if the food is this good but what Ok Uk gives us, is the base. A delicious, well cooked cod and you are to season it and enjoy it. A tip from me, mix the ketchup and the tarter sauce. It sounds weird but it’s really good.
Over all, a 5 star review isn’t what I normally give but we have been here to the other Ok Uk and I can confidently say that both places are really good and well worth the price. Now, the breading on the fish can get soggy so please be mindful of that. And if you don’t move your fish, the fries can get soggy too. Just be mindful of those things.
I am from Kansas City Missouri and have not had fish n chips better than these fresh big pieces of white fish and chicken should have took picture before I tore into my meal , wonderful clean restaurant excellent food hands down best fried fish I have had
Delicious fish and chips cooked to perfection. Nice relaxing atmosphere too.
Fantastic food. Their fried shrimp, cod, and chicken were amazing. They have combo meals so you can try a bit of everything. The meal came with coleslaw, fries, and a roll. Everything tasted so good. They were also fast and super nice. They also have some interesting candy bars. There was plenty of seating inside and it wasn't too crowded.
All of the food is very fresh and delicious. The coating is very light, the fish, chicken and shrimp is amazing. Shrimp tacos are very tasty. The atmosphere is nice and the service is good. We also enjoyed the assortment of British candies and other treats.
It's a British type fish restaurant and the cod was excellent. The owner took our order and served us as well, a very pleasant fellow. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with a view of the parking lot. The interior is clean and fine for eating good fish. 10 of 10 for the food.
You know a place is fantastic when it becomes a definite stop when traveling. So yeah, I'm definitely coming back to this restaurant when I drive to Sanibel.
And the decor is always a fun escape.
Super made to order fish, chicken and shrimp. Beer battered and cooked to perfection. Large portions and tasty coleslaw. Very friendly staff!!!! N.Ft. Myers is alittle warm, but understandable giving unit, store-front glass and nature of cooking. The sweat is worth the dine:)
